  1. Scarfie is right, I actually really enjoy black and white artwork, which was why I wanted a convention sketch instead of a finished pencil or ink. I prefer the energy and flow of the quick sketches instead of the more static lines of 'finished' work.

As a poor person, I don't have the money to get these kind of things for myself, especially not from such prolific artists like Mr. Kindred. Instead, this was a present from Bradders in return for the pic I did of Blitz. I don't do art expecting anything in return unless I've specifically set up a commission contract. This was not the case in this situation. Getting something like this in return for a simple sketch is more than I can honestly express in words.

    So I didn't use words.

that is the worst pun ever , suichiro :P

    I know.

But, it was punintentional on my part, I assure you.
  3. Nah, DB already sought legal action to stop me from drawing anything like that of her. She has a restraining order.
  4. Not entering the
queue, but I wanted to give
    Scarf Girl a haiku.

    A flash of red hair,

a twisted smile curls pursed lips.

    The BURN! It's all over.
  5. Much too dark.

I know stuff in poser tends to be very dark in general and that you're going for a darker lighting here, but you're losing all your detail in the washes of black. Creating silhouettes is a very neat thing to do sometimes, but here the background is too dark as well, making the edges disappear.

For example, the text above is nearly unreadable. As soon as it gets to the part above the VS sign, it becomes muddy and difficult to make out. In Feral Kitty's name, the Kitty part suffers from the same thing. We all know that it says "kitty," but that's only because we're extrapolating it from the info we already have.

Feral Kitty has a belt and boots in that pic. But you can't see them at all. Items like her claws make a good silhouette so you can still make them out pretty well, but items that are flush with the rest of her are difficult at best to recognize.

I'd seriously suggest taking this into photoshop or some other graphic editing software and play with the histogram a bit. It'll leave your dark areas just as dark, while pulling out a little more detail in your pic. I ran a version of it over with curves in photoshop and I can see all the wonderful things you did with the outfits, including the subtle way the mesh netting actually lifts off Feral Kitty's body. But you simply can't see it in the normal version.
  6. LOL, there are far too many things I could quote you on that didn't come from no PvP zone, hun.
  7. TA, I sent you a PM a while back when I was more open for commissions, but I seem to be a little more full now. If you act quickly, I can perhaps get you something out before I start on my larger project.
  8. Yeah, I done tend to check in there that often. That came out nice! Thanks for reposting it in here, I'd not have seen it otherwise.
  9. Another new one, this one is to replace the other pic I did of Neil from before. And since Hurl is Gideon's favorite power...

What the heck are you talking about?? No one will get mad at him.

I'm tempted to, but it's not worth the effort most days.

No, I have a thing against washed out pictures. If something was all white or all green, it'd be the same issue. Kro, just because I dislike your outfits due to overuse of black, doesn't mean I hate the color black entirely. It also doesn't mean it's not a valid artistic point.

Black is fine, *if* you can see the detail in the pic, or if you're purposely trying to use the negative space the washes of black create in an interesting way. That doesn't appear to be the case here. You can have black and still have detail and depth in your artwork if you simply vary the key shading. Grays leading to darker grays, ending in true black at the deepest points will give your pic a wonderful fullness and depth that it lacks currently.

If everything is at maximum intensity all the time, you lose any of the punch of it being at max.
  12. That came out really nice. I'm curious to know what you use to ink or what your process is.

I find the whole thing too dark. Again the issue of black on black makes everything to murky and difficult to see. It looks like a great picture, from what little I can tell, but it seems a great shame that all the effort you put into the details has been lost. It's a sea of ink at the moment.

If you took it into photoshop or another graphics editing program and played around with the gamma correction/histogram/levels settings then you'd probably be able to pull out some of that detail once more.
  14. If you can manage to get people to draw for you for free, on a project with no real details or time frame, then you're a more talented person than I.
  15. SnS has always had kinda a pouty look to her. She's definitely not the standard heroine and has been level 50 for so long that nothing really phases her. I can understand where you might dislike the expression, but it fits her quite well.

Besides, I can't have everyone doing the "O mouth of rage"
  16. Only if I get to come to your house and steal how you make money. :3

    New art!

  17. Go ahead Turbo, that'd be great. I know you colored one of the other pics I did for Bradders and it came out quite nice. I was just teasing you in the thread, since I have a reputation for hating black on black in CoX.
  18. Fear is in my secondary. Not my 'epic.' Tell you what, I'll give you lots of BFs to counter the fear lock. But I still get to use it.
  19. Oh? And is someone aiming to give one out? Lets fight at level 40 when you have no broken hero epics.

N3rf things that help DB win.
  20. You just have to look harder in the sig.
  21. You're a real slave driver you know, Scarfie? You should give up the medical profession and go into the dominatrix business.

Changed the sig. That's as far as I'll go.
