  1. Not everyone has the GvE pack. :\
  2. It's a tough order, you'll never really get what you want totally.

    Try this for now:

    Arabian costume with base options

Arabian costume with Samurai vet pieces
  3. Meh. TurboSki and hubby making it into heaven at the end just doesn't sit right with me at all. She does such terrible things and the story would be more fitting if she managed to get her hubby into heaven, but had to stay in the Netherworld as penance. It would show a different side of her, while giving the story a bittersweet ending.

It's not my char, but the 'everything is wonderful' ending just really seems kinda anti-climactic to me. I mean, Turbo isn't an anti-hero. She's a really sadistic murder. Unless it's a well crafted plan that literally steals hope from the powers of Heaven, it just doesn't ring well. And even then, when they're both in Heaven, she'd have to pay for her previous crimes anyways. I'm not really much of a religious guy, but going against the "ultimate supreme powers of the universe" and winning just seems cheesy.

    Yo.

See, now you can be like Kunio-kun!

If Derek likes Akio-chan, then he's more than welcome to keep using it, but I want him to avoid embarrassment if the subject comes up in the future. It's always weird when you think you're saying one thing in a foreign language, but it turns out to be another.

No, he's male. It's like Squirrel said, it's also referred to males who are good friends. It's kinda like saying I'm friendly with everyone.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Well, see the thing is, unless you're *REALLY* close to someone, this sounds unusual. The -kun suffix is actually the better choice when it comes to a familiar tone of voice. Akio-kun would be the way people that were friendly with you, would talk to you. If they were strangers, they'd use your family name instead. When you get really close to someone, you drop the honorifics altogether and just use the given name; so Akio, instead of Akio-chan, Akio-kun, Akio-dono.

From a Japanese point of view, it's actually slightly insulting if you use a suffix for yourself that implies a strong relationship with others without knowing them well.

Also, when people use that suffix for males, it's typically in a slightly insulting way as well. Between friends, it's like a light jab at your buddy, insinuating a 'girlish' emotional attachment. No matter how you cut it, it sounds feminine when you use it out of nowhere. -chin would almost be better in this case, making it obvious that it's being used in a demeaning, childish fashion, rather than making allusions to femininity.

You're free to call yourself whatever you want, but you should be aware of the context you're implying, when you do.

(Also, Akio means Bright/Shining/Clear + Male/Man/Husband, it's a shortened version of Akihiko. It basically means "Bright Man." Yuu is the proper term for hero when used in a name, meaning Superior/Aid/Hero.)

    Yo.

I assume your new persona is female? Because while the -chan suffix isn't gender specific persay, it's used in reference to girls primarily. If it was a male, you'd use -kun instead.
  8. I'm not above lurking the forums for open calls. >:3

Too many female villains, we need some meat in here!

  9. Since you already have a Kamen Rider style guy with Chisoku, I'll pick my Gravity/ForceField Controller instead.

  10. BURN ftw. She's adorably dangerous! :3

Also, Lil' Ultra Marine is made of Win and Awesome. The proportions on his arms just amuse me to no end.
  11. Oh snap. Leandro found a way to make a custom login screen for CoX, when you boot up the game.

This has to be posted here. It's like a calling for the Art Forum to shine.
  12. Lesse, first my favorite picture I've done that's CoX related is definitely "Loveless." It was one of the few that I was happy with and it helped to show a different side of my favorite character. Something that's usually hidden.

Secondly, my favorite pic that someone else did is actually Turbo-Ski by HugoHugo. Turbo and Mel have a friendly rivalry of sorts it seems, but in all honesty this pic is what turned me onto HugoHugo in the first place. The colors, the line quality, the attention to details, hte dynamic pose, all make for a wonderful piece. One that made me want art from him as well.

Third? As for my favorite piece of fine art? Well I was always fond of "The Garden of Earthly Delights."
  13. Hah. With my level of art? I doubt so. It's not fishing for a compliment, it's that I seriously am not in that league and her prices indicate that she's not the type to trade to my level.
  14. Not jealous. Not jealous at all.

    Nope. Not one bit.

  15. I tried a few variations already. The diablo works okay but the horns just doesn't seem to look right. The emphasis it puts on the chest area just makes the outfit too effeminate. The placement of the flame on the chest really makes it difficult to work with, because it's just in the right spot to crop into the patterns, but not enough that coloring them uniformly makes it sink in.
  16. I really like the blue outfit you made instead of the red one. It has more contrast and looks much more iconic. But the center chest area is just lacking and the flame floats in the middle, without any anchor points for the eye to lock onto. I tried to fiddle with it myself and was only able to come up with a few designs.

First off, I think the blue was too severe, so I moved up a shade to something a little less severe. I couldn't avoid getting rid of the fire on the arms, because there's no other designs that will put details in the chest without leaving a blank spot on the arms. So I changed the shoulder pads to cover up the bland arms and give them more detail at the same time.

With the framing of the flame working correctly, I just shifted the center of it to the same blue as the costume. This makes it an icon instead of a crude picture of a flame, as if it was actually sewn into the outfit. I changed the belt to match the blue of the outfit, so as to not break up that wonderful negative space you have going in the middle. Now the colors flow naturally and the whole outfit should be more pleasing to the eye.

  20. Woot! I got this pic as part of an art trade I did with an acquaintance of mine. Lost One Zero is a great artist and was recently linked to on Adam Warren's DevArt page, since he did a fanart of Empowered.

A rare moment of quiet for Mel.
