  1. Aerones and Tricky Tacky.

Aero did recognizable gender swaps with good dynamic poses and came up with fitting names for the characters.

Tricky had a great version of Scirocco that had it's own unique style.
  2. If I wasn't already in love with myself, then I would definitely be in love with Rowr. Mmmrrr!
  3. Just got this in today. Not only was it done in record time (a matter of hours) but the quality is amazing. This is likely one of my favorite pics of Mel to date.

    Mel as done by Zairyo

    Zairyo's DA page

I found him off TA's list of commissionable artists. So much thanks for that resource.
  4. Board has nuked. Dunno particularly why, but it seems to be effecting everyone.
  5. When I do commission work, I always take money at the end when I'm fully done with the work. There's no reasoning for me to take it at the beginning and that's something that I refuse to do as a customer as well.

Honestly, when I take a commission I always assume the worst. Keep in contact with the buyer, make sure that the work I put into it doesn't outdo the price I'm getting for it and when I finish the art, I *never* send a completed full size pic. I send a thumbnail of the completed art. Just enough that the buyer can see what it looks like, but too small to use or display. In that regard, I make the buyer want it even more. I don't send finished roughs in large size either. Layouts and thumbnail sketches are fine, but nobody gets a full pencil delivered into their mail.

"Look, here's a tasty art crumb! If you want the real thing, pay up."

If the buyer doesn't pay, they only get a tiny little thumb that they can try to pass off as the 'finished' piece and I put my finished work into my portfolio. Never had a buyer cop out yet.
  6. I shouldn't have to tell you Ms.Ski, but your colors are running a little dark there...

I do like the first version quite a bit. But I don't particularly like the mech suit. Specifically the boots. Enforcer stuff is nice and all, but the boots just don't mesh well with most hero(ine) outfits. I think that the Vanguard boots and gloves would likely work better overall.

    you forgot
    6) Kidnap Dragonberry as a gift for Shia.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I tried it. Shia just tries to return her to the store for a copy of Rock Band.

Its too late I already came up with a fantastic and humiliating way for Tubro Ski to step out!

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Eeeeexcellent.
  9. Projectionist wins hands down on the basis of having the most 'feeling' of the actual show. There are a number of great entries but only a few really capture the vibe of the original show.
  10. I vote a repeat appearance by Longbow. Catching criminals is hawt.
  11. I can't believe that anyone would think that there was a real post here to see. C'mon guyz. You should know a troll when you see one by now.

    Epic flail.
  12. Birthday spankings incoming!

*warms up the tribal striped paddle*
  13. Perhaps one of the best things I've seen come out of this art forum.

    Gimp help

Well see, first you get a leather hood. Preferably one with a tongued zipper in the back to keep the hair out of the pull. Then you...

    ...oh. Uh.. nevermind. :3
  15. The reason it hurts is because it rings true, doesn't it? I'm an [censored], there's no doubt about that, but I speak the facts in the case as they're evidenced. You might think you're being singled out here, but that's far from the case. You're welcome to think I have anything against you personally, but it's simply untrue.

I state the obvious where other people are too afraid or too polite to do so.

As for the contest, once more as I said, it's your game and you can run it how you'd like. Just don't come down on other people for not wanting to play.
  16. I'd say that while the show 'Heroes' is definitely SuperHero related, it's not 'City of Heroes' related. While it's a parallel topic, it's not actually the same. I agree that it's an interesting challenge and that it's likely worth looking into, but there are obviously people that are unhappy with it. Asking them to suck it up and deal is acceptable in a commission world, but this simply a fun diversion, not a paid project. Just let them leave the competition peacefully and you'll be left with a more tightly knit group of people that enjoy it, rather than people that feel put off by the subject change.
  17. I think the major issue at play here is that people signed up to do art about City of Heroes and the first thing that happened is that the subject matter isn't about City of Heroes. Of course it's gonna be offputting to a lot of people. Moreso, if they're either not fans of the show, or not knowledgeable about it in the first place.

But it's Juggy's art competition and his call to pick the topic. You either abide by it or get out of the water. However, this goes both ways. Don't put anyone down for wanting out of it, when an obvious bait and switch was pulled. This is not a paid commission. This is not a job. This is something that's supposed to be FUN and if it's not fun for those people, then let them leave without making them feel inferior.
  18. Aw. I was hoping for the 'Sexy Answer.' Instead I got the 'Humorous Answer' and the 'Proper Answer.'
  19. Boxing Day? Tell Suichiro more about this... Boxing Day... >;3
  20. Don't worry. I'm still every bit as much of a jerk as I'm made out to be, but I love me some Xmas holidays. Here's a Xmas card for all you guys and gals here in our little artist cohab.

What do you want for Christmas?

Incidentally this is probably one of the first things I've been able to draw simply because I wanted to, in over half a year. Too many requests and commissions.
  21. ...

    Turbo... hun...

That's a pun worthy of making *me* recoil in horror. Well done!
  22. It looks more like the Kohou than the Shoryuken.
  23. Overuse of saturate black is definitely for the lose. It seems like she wants something plain that will get lost in the sea of other 'villains' so I'd just let her and be done with it.
  24. More colors that don't clash = good. Which is why this outfit is by far better than monochrome costumes.

I like the outfit, but the silver on the shoulderpads makes the outfit a little top heavy. Try making the belt's inside color match the red of the outfit and the trim that same silver tone. I would *not* however make the silver more dull to match the pattern on her bodysuit, since it provides a nice highlight to the outfit. It's those kind of interesting accents that make good outfits.
