New code push tonight with some "big" features!
You can now over-write your previously saved builds when saving! In the save window, select the character name, and then you should see a link below next the "Build Name" that says "Or, select from an existing build". Clicking that will allow you to choose from builds associated with this character and let you over-write them.
Selecting an existing build to over-write should also default the other options to whatever that build was previously saved as. For example, if you had selected "Victory" as the server and marked this build as Hidden, "Victory" should be pre-selected in the Server menu, and the "Hidden" checkbox should be checked.
The other big feature is the ability to delete individual builds, or entire characters (and all their associated builds) from the My Account screen.
As always, let me know if you have any issues with these new items or any other functionality. -
Quote:Not yet. I've got this functionality in my development environment, and it seems to be working pretty well. I just need to do some more testing to make sure there aren't any weird side effects. Hopefully this will go out today or tomorrow.Second -- some things in the planner are not terribly easy to undo. For instance, is there a way to remove or overwrite a "build" for a character?
Yeah, this is a known issue. I'm hoping to get a fix in for it this weekend as well. -
Yes, but bolding a link doesn't break any "netiquette" as far as I'm aware. The fact that links are the same color as regular text is a bad design choice. All I wanted was to make it slightly more obvious there was a link there.
-
Quote:The point is, there's a choice. If there are multiple options, I don't want to be arbitrarily forced to play the option I'm not that interested in.Yes, because we've never heard of a game with two factions where one grossly outnumbers the other...
The disparity between Heroes and Villains has little impact on day-to-day playing of the game, aside from market prices and availability... of which you can play the game just fine without a super-tweaked villain.
The fact that the game hinges on an even amount of each faction is broken.
I'm sure it's a great game with many other quality features, but I for one don't want to be told what to play when I log in. -
Quote:That's stupid.Bad news for some folks playing Aion:
Race Balance is already in affect. You might not be able to get the race you want during Pre-selection. Some servers have already temporarily locked out certain races.
EDIT: Basically you have to wait awhile until it balances out. The definition of "a while" could vary considerably. -

Ok this has been fixed (I hope), as well as few other small things. As always, let me know if anything new crops up!

Someone on my lowbie hero team last night got a Steadfast KB Protection Recipe, level 11.
-
The biggest change is how easy it is to get a team going. It was always frustrating when people were sort of in a similar level range, but didn't have enough mentors to include everyone. (So like 2 people are level 11, a few between 5-8 or so). Now, we can all play together, enjoy XP, and bulldoze through missions, and everyone can contribute. It's good stuff.
I might exemp for more TFs on whatever I'm currently leveling up, but I was never really that worried about exemping or whatever anyway. -
Quote:Damn, you're right. Thanks for reporting! I've got it fixed internally (for real this timeJust wanted to note that pool 3 and 4 and the PPP on VEATs is still wonky. Extra stuff shows up and the PPP has doubled up, written over each other entries.
), and will push a build out later today with some more stuff.

Just pushed a build to the live server. Fixed a few bugs here and there.

Fixes:
- CohPlanner.com homepage changed to reflect new URL of planner. Access to old planner left intact.
- Fury of the Gladiator IO Set image added
- After selecting an enhancement, you can now re-select an empty enhancement
- HOs now appear in the Power info modal window
- IO Sets now do per-power uniqueness checks. One-per-character uniqueness is not checked yet. -
-
Quote:Okidoki, good to know, thanks.
So far made a Gun/Device Blaster, Energy Blaster, Fire/Dark Scrapper, and a Super Strength/Shield Tanker.
Is that the right way?
Yep! Origins are fun, but knowing what your sets actually are lets us give you actual opinions on them.
However, and this is a big one - Take everyone's opinions about a powerset or combo with a chunk of salt. The most important thing is to play what you think is fun, and not what other people say is good or bad. Everything in this game is viable. It all depends on if you have fun playing it. -
Just a little FYI, the Origin of your characters, while nice flavor, largely plays no role in the rest of the game. Focus more on what your powersets are when describing them to people than what Origin it is.
There are some side-effects to what origin you select, but on the whole it's all very minor stuff. -
Definitely. What you have now in terms of build saving/loading was juuuust enough to launch with. Not nearly good enough for long-term use though.

A quick tip for sending Tells (they're they yellow messages people might send to you, and these are private) -
If you hit the Backspace key, your chat window will automatically be setup to reply to the last person that sent you a tell. It took me a few weeks of playing to learn that trick and it was immensely valuable once I figured it out! -
Quote:My pleasure! I'm glad you're having fun with it (even at times you might not supposed to be...Thanks so much for updating your planner SuckerPunch! This is a big help to those of us CoH players who are stuck at work!
)
Quote:Here's a bug for ya....
Choosing Arachnos Soldier, Bane primary and secondary, Choosing first (and 2-4) power pool and I get a weird list that isn't the pool powers (fail safe, self destruct, etc.).
Safari 4.0.2 (on a Mac w/ Leopard 10.5.7)
This was a pretty bad bug, VEATs in general weren't able to select Pool powers. I've fixed this issue and pushed it live. Please let me know if you run into any other issues with this.
