I still haven't gotten an explanation for why Stalkers would even want Ice Melee, one of the worst damage sets going.

    So, why?

    [/ QUOTE ]

Dude just picture a pair of baddies chilling out in a hallway or a cave and one turns to the other, "Did it just get cold in here?" Suddenly BAM! IMPALED!!!!!

    Nuff said!

BTW!! I LOVE YOUR AS Power!!!!!!

    [/ QUOTE ]

Thanx I love the entire concept of big icy arm spikes impaling ppl.
  3. Ok I have an idea on how the ice melee set would be awesome for stalkers. It would use a few of the current powers and a few new ones of course. Here is what I think the set would look like.

Tier 1: Frozen Fists. Coating your fists in a layer of ice you pummel a foe with both of them. (use same power and animation as tanker version.)
Melee, Minor Damage (Cold, Smash), Foe: -Recharge -Speed.

Tier 2: Ice Blade. You coat one arm from the elbow up with ice formed into a blade and slash a foe with it. (Be much like ice sword without the goofy looking sword.)
Melee, Moderate Damage (Cold, Lethal), Foe: -Recharge -Speed.

Tier 3: Frost. You create a short cone of frost in front of you, that can frostbite a foe, and slows their attack speeds as they uncontrollably shiver. (same as tanker version)
Cone, Moderate Damage over time (Cold) Foe: -Recharge -Speed.

Tier 4: Assassins Chiller. You create a massive blade on your whole arm and impale a foe on it then it shatters causing massive damage. (Much like Ice Blade but a bigger blaade and you impale the enemy with it. Would use either the spines or ninja blade esque animation.)
    Melee, Special Damage(Lethal).

Tier 5: Coldsnap. You Decrease the temperature of your body immensely for a very short time. increasing the intensity of all your attacks. (Build Up.)
    Self: +Damage, +To Hit.

Tier 6: Placate. Allows you to trick a foe into no longer attacking you. A successful Placate will also hide you. This hide is very brief, and offers no defense bonus, but it will allow you to deliver a critical hit or an Assassin's Strike. However, if you attack a placated foe, he will be able to attack you back. (same as normal)
    Ranged, Foe Placate, Self Stealth/Hide.

Tier 7: Freezing Grasp. You grab a foe and summon ice on them. Immobilizing them and slowing them. (same animation as Freezing Touch, except ice on feet rather than whole body.)
Melee, Minor Damage (Cold), Foe immobilize, -Rech, -Spd, -Fly.

Tier 8: Icy Arc. You summon blades on both arms and slash them in front of you in a wide arc. Slicing anyone in your wake. (Same animation as Eviscerate with ice arms.)
Melee(Cone), High Damage (Cold, Lethal) Foe: -Recharge -Speed.

Tier 9: Frozen Wrath. You summon up a pair of ice blades on your arms and Impale a foe for massive damage. then the blades shatter damaging nearby enemies. (Use the Energy Transfer animation with ice blades then make them shatter once they hit.)
Melee, Extreme dmg(Lethal/Cold), -Spd, -Rech. Delayed secondary Melee(AoE), Moderate dmg(cold), -Spd, -Rech.

there it is post your ideas.

    Dark Blast
    Smite
    Gloom
    Shadow Maul
    Torrent
    Life Drain
    Moonbeam
    Cloak of darkness?
Midnight Grasp (or siphon life if you want to get crazy)

    [/ QUOTE ]

    probably be more like

    Dark Blast
    Gloom
    Shadow Punch
    Shadow Maul
    Moonbeam
    Night Fall
    Dark Consumption
    Life Drain
    Midnight Grasp

just my thoughts on how it'd be arranged & such
  6. 2 things. /rad, never happen with the way rad works right now. The -def element would be heavily reduced or removed & there are no rad melee powers available to players. secondly I hear a lot of bashing on /energy but I truly enjoy the set. So stop trying to have my favorite set removed if u would please. If ya don't like it don't use it.
  7. Yeah as it says on my thing Mud Pots was just filler. But if u read fissure it does do dmg. It's a modified version of fault with damage that is in the APP.
  8. I didn't think about these powers at all. The Earthen Bolt was based on the Legacy Chain Rock tossing power so that's cool. The set does seem to have too much melee.
  9. Tier 1: Earthen Bolt. Ranged, Minor Smashing, KB.
You levitate a chunk of the ground & slam it into the enemies.

Tier 2: Rock Fists. Melee, Moderate Smashing, Disorient.
You strike with stone coated fists.

Tier 3: Fissure. Ranged(targeted AoE), Minor Smashing, Disorient, Knockdown. A powerful stomp with your foot causing a seismic disturbance. This will crack the earth itself and cause chunks of bedrock to jut up, throwing nearby enemies into the air, possibly Disorienting them.

Tier 4: Hurl Boulder. Ranged, High Smashing, KB, -Fly.
You are able to tear up a chunk of ground beneath your feet and Hurl it at an enemy.

    Tier 5: Build Up. Self + Dmg, + to-Hit.
Greatly increases the amount of damage you deal for a few seconds, as well as slightly increasing your chance to hit.

Tier 6: Tremor. Ranged(PbAoE), Moderate Smashing, KB.
You can cause a localized earthquake immediately around you.

Tier 7: Heavy Mallet. Melee, High Smashing, Knockdown.
Your control over the earth allows you to form a mallet of solid stone.

Tier 8: Mud Pots. Toggle: PbAoE, Minor Fire, Immobilize, Slow.

Tier 9: Seismic Smash. Melee, Extreme Smashing, Hold.
This massive attack hits with all the force of the Earth itself. It deals tremendous amounts of damage, and may Hold the target if they are not defeated outright.

I wasn't sure what the tier 8 should be but mud pots was my idea. It could be replaced with somethin more fitting.

You've got two empty halves of coconut and you're bangin' 'em together!

    Where'd you get a coconut?!
  11. I both agree and disagree with this.

Yes the ticket cap is high enough for a regular mission. But no if the mission is on a larger map the ticket cap will not cover it. Around 1/2 the mission is a waste of time for the player at that point. Example) The large ruined City 02 map (of Liberate TV fame) will get a player that can farm the enemies inside, wich can be quite difficult, they stop gaining tickets about a 3rd of the way through. A map such as that can bring in around 5K tickets. But it is VERY challenging unless you have a good build or a team.

On the other hand I don't agree with ppl farming missions like this and pulling max tickets per run. This causes the market to be flooded with Gold level recipes that are losing value. I really do see the merit in the ticket cap. But I think around 1/2 the cap would be more corrrect. like 4500 ish. For those ppl (such as redman, Trance, Myself, and many others) who spent lots of time on a good build. I'm not disagreeing with the ticket cap idea at all. I think it was needed. but to a lesser degree.

These are my opinions wich I believe we are all entitled to. Good Day, Good Play, & Have Fun.
  12. So excited for this! My tanker is so going redside! He's a [censored] anyways! Also guy in Trailer has a pistol!!!! SO me thinks DP is on the way!

  15. [ QUOTE ]

Uh when did they change the threat rating on Stalkers? Cause when I checked in July last year, they had a Threat Rating of FOUR.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Around the same time they made other changes to Stalkers. They tweaked them quite a bit at one point in the last year.

[ QUOTE ][LIST][*]The devs Have never promised complete proliferation.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't there an interview where one of the devs say we won't go two issues without proliferation?

I could easily make villains with an Empathy powerset, or heroes with a Poison powerset, it's all in how you write it. Heck, I have comcepts in my head for heroic Stalkers and villainous Defenders.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Exactly my biggest pet peeve as far as proliferation goes is Archery and Broad Sword. If hacking people to bits with a huge sword; or filling them with pointy stabbers, isn't evil I don't know what is these days! Hell BS seems more like a brute set in play than a scrapper one... it is slow, strong, and unfluent. Give a really pissed off dude one o those and watch the bodies pile up.
  19. [ QUOTE ]
    So we're all stupid?

    [/ QUOTE ]

I said nothing about anyone being stupid or even suggested that in any way. If you feel stupid that is your own thought. This is just my opinion on the set.
  20. I disagree with most of this entire thread. I have a grav/energy & love him. The KB in the set doesn't cause me any issues at all. you just gotta think when you use it. Slam them into corners and keep hammerig away or use your KB and jump on them, nail them with melee, then KB again. Wash rinse repeat! It work wonders. I barely use my mezzes as the Singularity does that for me. I've found that with correct application Energy assualt is very effective. It does need a little more damage, this is true, & Whirling hands could be much better. But all in all I love the set! Power Boost, Power Burst, Power Push, and Total Focus are very good powers IMO. Burst for the gr8 Dmg. Push is an amazing KB power that with good slotting knock most anyone off thier feet. Focus for the fact that it builds Domination, & has a lot of dmg. & Power Boost b/c well it's Power Boost. I will agree that the ranged attacks can get bothersome if not applied well but on a lot of higher lvl foes the KB is Knockdown anyways. Wich is good! Anyways just my thoughts. We all are entitled to our own opinions.
