ditto. i hated that guy and will probably avoid the arc from now on, which kinda stinks because it was a great map. I am not a big fan of the way it works pvp either and seeing it with no warning in a pve zone was jarring and not at all enjoyable. -
yeah, i got a lot of angry tells for a Hami'd Focus from some very pissed blasters. Focus is just an awesome, awesome attack. It's half the reason i take Claws.

As I said...Claws changes are in early planning stages. Might not be for a while, so...be patient! (Yeah, I know...I always hated hearing that around Christmas as a kid!)

you've already got a thread where people are disagreeing with your take on spines, keep that fight in there.

if the window is small enough, the two are the same problem. I should have a good 3 seconds after hitting placate to fire my attack off and get a Crit. That placate needs to stick for that time.
If you take #1 out a bit further, say 8 seconds, and I'd agree that's a bit long to expect hide to work when being attacked. -
have you guys seen the Blood widows with the modified spine graphics and sounds? They have metal spikes on their wrists and a giant blade for Lunge. The attacks sound like Claws since they are metal.

what people are asking for is to be able to as least immediately attack after using placate and get that guaranteed Crit. if you stand there for 6 seconds and get hit, sure - no crit then. but if you fire placate off, and immediately hit your attack you should get a crit. that's what we'd like.

scrappers will never get a rep. we'd tear that guy a new ahole in about an hour. -
dominators have a lower brawl value than us. In terms of our brawl value, that 5.948 is really a 4.3.
also, eagles claw was recently increased to 6.3333 and Crane Kick was also increased to 4.555.
claws therefore has 2 attacks that outdamage Skewer, as does Spine and MA -
well considering i didn't even disagree with you that Follow UP should be left alone, i don't see the point of that post.

what i have a problem with is that claws has gotten short end of the stick for 18 months and I'm glad it's getting some attention. I don't mind katana being lower end than broadsword and attacking faster than broadsword. I do not like the fact that it's currently more end efficient and faster than claws. Claws is supposed to be that low end fast set and I'm glad changes are being implemented to make it that. It's been the bastid stepchild of Spines for too long.
i'm not trying to get into an argument over this. i've just been playing the set for so long, it's almost personal at this point. -

I take issue with. I'm sorry, but Claws is supposed to be the low end quick attack set. that's from the game, the devs and everyone else. There is nothing wrong with people working to finally get claws into a position where it resembles the description its had for a year and a half. -
claws damage is low enough. adjusting the animations of the 5 annoying attacks, swipe, slash, spin, follow, Evis, would do a heck of a lot. I'd almost want to try a version of claws where they simply took about 3/4ths to 1 second off of each of those animations. Certain powers need their end costs lowered too. Spin and Shockwave . Spin does less damage and has much lower dps than the whirling swords, but costs the same and recharges in a similar time frame. Shockwave is the same. Compared to Throw Spines, it's less damage no 2ndary effects, the same rechrage and cost.

another good way to get it is to placate the mob, then hit build up, then attack. I get lose Hide a lot doing that. I actually stopped and now hit BU first, then placate.

brickster, i noticed that too, but then after someone pointed it out, i realized it only happened when my target broke line of sight with me. breaking line of sight acts like an interrupt on AS.

Catwhoorg posted what I've seen as well. if they get their attack off right when Placate is in the animation or if they have a long animation, it will hit me and kill my hide. It happens a lot, maybe 25% of the time.

I told you in beta that if there were fixes coming for Claws, I'd send you cookies. I wasn't fooling around. If some combo of swipe, slash, evis and spin get better animations, you'll get 1 batch of cookies-your choice(bonus batch for all 4). If swipe's goofy [censored] damage and recharge is fixed and/or eviscerates recharge/damage balance is shifted more to dmg, you get another batch of cookies(bonus batch for both). That's 4dozen cookies, your choice, if all that stuff gets fixed.
However, if something is done to Focus that I don't like, that's -2 batches of cookies. -
Bother my DM/EA and Fire/DA build are doing great solo, both below 10 still. And they did well in beta in the teens.
