Starting to think it has to be a drivers issue. I was able to hang around the supergroup base for two hours. Yet passing into the D is almost inevitable crash. And every time I crashed outside of Pocket D could of been the result that which the hotfix was entitled to fix.

Is there something in Pocket D maybe that utilizes an engine that could be causing the crash or something?
  2. Yup windowing just seems to buy me more time. This time I ended up crashing just as I was leaving the ski resort and got sound stuttering.

And of course a reboot and instant run of the game, upon zoning in I almost crash immediately.

    DAMMIT! -_-
  3. Yeah the shutting down of the power supply was what stuck out. It would occur when the turbo button on the back (It's a PSU 650wat by BFG) was pressed. And when playing Fallout 3 the system would shut down, then not turn back on until I'd pull out the cord. Pressing the turbo button would only cause the process to repeat but if not pressed Fallout 3 wouldn't cause a whole system crash like it was. Now I did try to replace the power supply but it had no luck at which point the hard drive seemed to be the culprit in August or quite possibly the Power Supply crapped out and caused the hard drive to die. Who knows. I did take it apart carefully and it does look like some fuses were blown. I guess it's worth a shot. =/

Otherwise I'm just gunna save up another $300 and buy a CPU/Mobo/PSU combo -_-

EDIT: Updated currently running the game windowed. No crash yet but I suspect that it's more of a random issue and thus probably being the power supply as a first choice.
  4. Well nope still no luck. Screen goes black and light on the monitor goes orange. The only things I can think of being the culprit is maybe (and it's a big maybe) previous drivers might work. Otherwise there's the powersupply, which may explain the shutting down when playing Fallout 3 extensively, the CPU and/or motherboard (considering the CPU was used on a previous board and wasn't seated properly.)

I also accidentally bent the pins but managed to straiten them out before seating it onto the socket. It could very well be the socket itself is screwed up.

-sighs- I could of bought a brand new gaming machine from Dell with all the money I spent trying to figure out the problem

sound tends to play randomly sometimes continuing despite the black screen. Other times it just abruptly stops. I use a sound card so don't think I have the audiotech drivers, thought I skipped them.
  5. Ok so basically I updated to the 180.xx drivers found on Nvidia's site. I was using 178.28 (I think it was .28) so this is the only other thing I can maybe pin point the freezing to. Currently using a 9600GT-Overclock by BFG. Haven't tested the game yet =/
  6. Yeah people I know who brought me back to CoX didn't like the term MRP because usually they felt it lead to the same crap, just another way to get off. :P

Personally I'm an MRPer, if stuff happens... well hey, "shiat" happens. But I don't purposefully go around looking for "stuff" to "do". Otherwise to me MRP is all about being mature about what is described or done in a RP format. Cursing, body language, violence, gory descriptions, etc/etc.

    Like an R-rating pretty much.
  7. Personally my reply to people asking that, I often tell them, "It's best you 'not' know."
  8. I would assume either hard rebooting or restarting the computer and hitting F8 it should still prompt you the option to go into safe mode or not. I would try the restart method first and then hit F8 as it boots up, hard rebooting could possibly hurt the poor thing
  9. Well still doesn't fix my issue of crashing. Inside of the D is inevitable and outside it's at random. I think I played about an hour or so when I13 went live. The only other thing I can think of is updating video drivers. Otherwise I guess my CPU and/or motherboard got corrupted some how during the initial setup with the problem I had then
  10. I still don't see the date even being listed. But thanks for baring with me here. Alright so I need the x86...

EDIT: Baaaaah! I see it, had to scroll over. The page looks fine didn't even bother to notice the bar at the bottom.
  11. Filename Fix: Fix245313

Upon running the application it gave me an error saying it doesn't apply to my system.
  12. It's weird it doesn't list dates for me unless if it's in the File Name itself. (like drivers for video cards) When I select see additonal info it just expands the selections a little. But I do see the File Name: Fix245313 listed as x64 which I suppose I can try. I have Windows Vista 32bit but Zloth said the x64 should still work with it.
  13. Hmmm by clicking show additional information and then additional languages I get 6. Two of which are X64 but I don't know what is the one I'd need. =/

Platform / Release / File Name
    x64 / sp2 / Fix245313
    x64 / sp2 / Fix233686
  14. Oh oh. Dammit keep forgetting what Zloth told me sorry :P

Hmmm but it still only lists x86 not x64... or is it saying it will only apply to Vista 64bit with SP2?
  15. Hey so what's the status on updating the Vista hotfix. If you check it labels only SP2 for release and I don't think I recall seeing SP2 openly being downloaded; rather still in the beta process.
  16. Damn I do miss those old TS days xD
  17. The same Bodenee that used to hang out with Dawg, Kazz, Terrill, OBM, and Stryph (myself) on TeamSpeak? :P

    Don't mind me, just browsen
  18. I do... I'll admit it... innocent intentions can go a lung lung vay >

    Is thinking about making cake.
  19. Actually I like alternative music of today :P

    Hmm likes peanut butter.
  20. Doubt it. Fallout 3 isn't for a couple weeks :P

Uhh will eat macaroni and cheese for dinner.
