    Newbie Alert!

Heavy RP and no drama? Oxymoron phrase I'd think.

Just sayin, that's like a married couple that no matter how many divorces they go through they always wind up getting back together.

My gripe with Bethesda is allowing Microsoft to use their content as downloadable content. Broken Steel of all DLC should of been free since their lead dev stated that it was a mistake to put a level cap and fixed ending.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Don't blame Microsoft though. If Bethesda wanted it to be free, they would have made it so. Microsoft dosen't set the prices of stuff on the marketplace, game devs do.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Bah, they influence everything. I mean why are gamer points so important if you can't turn them into Microsoft Points? Because they're stingy.

I wouldn't be surprised if Microsoft waves a check in front of Bethesda every game going, "You get this if you do this.".

And actually that's kind of an even deal. It's still possible to be influenced by publishers on how much the release product will cost and what to do with DLC. A publisher is as much to blame for profit as the dev team. Some companies, Bioware, Blizzard, Valve, etc, have more control over their products while others have partner ships going.
  3. Mass Effect is a perfect example, free downloadable content. At least it was for PC no? Nuff said.

I didn't find Oblivion too buggy, I just didn't like how if I went to shivering isles to get Dusk/Dawn Fang at a low level, that by leveling up it wasn't as potent as rather being level 25 and getting the sword then.

I started out being against Fallout 3, because Bethseda just.. is not a company I put my faith in. Given the issues with their 'expansions' through Games for Windows Live (mostly buggy, and for some odd reason, not even an option for Asian players), my complaints are justified. Morrowind and Oblivion were fairly broken, as well, and continued to be that way for a long time (from all accounts).

I still ended up finding it a fun, enjoyable shooter that I sunk far more hours then I thought I would. Left 4 Dead turned out that way, too, though, and I have far more fun playing that lately.

...just sayin', from my humble opinion, Fallout 3 is a great game to pick up for long-term amusement, and if for nothing else, collection value. I pick up a number of games I don't really play (Bioshock, Halo3, Assassin's Creed) because while they're usually only good for one playthrough.. whenever I get the urge to play it again, I want to have it.

    Packfox I am.

  7. Well for knowledge purposes sure go with the original Fallout and Fallout 2 but doing some research myself before Fallout 3, they're not much alike besides storyline.

    However, Oblivion is BEAUTIFUL!

Seraph's mother tried to kill him! and he didn't like that so he used his sword like a baseball bat and punted her back to Hell!
  9. It just annoys me how Bethesda didn't go with iron sights. I suppose they were worried that it would put points to no use because players would use iron sights all the time.

Over all, as a new fan of the Fallout franchise; I enjoyed it. Definitely a Oblivion with Guns with good reason.

There is supposed to be some kind of tri-laser rifle around in Broken Steel, have not found it yet though. Overall, I liked that Broken Steel continued the story and let's you make some headway against the threats in the wastes. But of the three the Pitt was probably the best with Operation Anchorage WAY back in dead last.

Yes zoom, it's always at least this silly and usually much worse. Sometimes there are theme days like Rookery on the Orient Express and Pulp Hero Rookery... those days are exceedingly silly.

    Morning Ghost.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Spoiler: It also had an update for users not with Broken Steel to end the story utilizing the three characters you can have tag along with you to sacrifice themselves.

Broken Steel was a let down. All they gave were miniguns and flame throwers, that's cool and all but at least the Pit took a gun like the Assault Rifle and put a silence and scope on it (Perforator preferred mind you) to make it one badass weapon.

    [/ QUOTE ]

All I need is the hunting rifle and sneak....and the chinese stealth suit was just icing. I literally have thousands of rounds of ammo....I just headshot everyone out of stealth. Its amazing how far out you can hit someone with the hunting rifle or scoped .44 without using VATS. (the sniper rifle is junk...sprays like a smg at range, I just keep it for the scope)

Though the infiltrator is sweet. I still have 5k rounds to go (Im on 360 though). Sneaking up on people and putting the autoaxe in their back is sweet too.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Chinese suit is pretty awesome indeed. Running around with that suit and a Shish kabob! Or Chinese Sword while playing this. xD

The Alien Blaster is powerful no doubt, but unfixable and no ammo (without using cheats I mean). Since I got Broken Steel I have been using the plasma rifle from the andriod and the Vengance minigun laster a lot. Just for a change from the Lincoln and the Blackhawk.

The Lincoln is good. My favorite is the Blackhawk. I tend to play the Regulator role.

    Makes me feel epic.

I play on PC, so I can use mods, mods, and more mods.

    [/ QUOTE ]

When I started a new game I went around with the Silenced Pistol and I have to say sneaking around with that was pretty fun. I can't quite enjoy the blackhawk for some reason. Maybe because Bethesda doesn't do to well with the magnums to make them look... scary.

And I use the Victory Sniper Rifle, running around in Vance's coat because it gives better stats than Sheriff's coat.

    Meet The Spy

So lets see who do they have left:

    Pyro and Medic.

I wonder what the Spy Update will be? Snapping of the neck? That would be awesome.

I'm more inclined to drool at what the Sniper's update will be though -drools-

Good morning kitteh! How goes your adventuring through the wasteland? Did ya find the Lincoln Repeater yet? Best weapon in the game I tell ya.

    [/ QUOTE ]

That you can get the right way, indeed. Although the Alien Blaster is more powerful but I have to admit the Repeater is my favorite weapon, being the weapon I use all the time.

However... if you're on the PC and you use the console... The Stranger's .44 is literally 9925 or something like that.

There's about nothing greater than going up to a Behemoth, or summoning one, and busting a cap in their [censored] saying, "OVER 9000!"
