However, RV is empty a lot of the time; ever considered why? Perhaps, just perhaps, it's the Risk vs. Reward of taking out the environment for XP over taking out skilled players for nothing.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Or perhaps there aren't that many level 50 PvPers with builds that they would enjoy using in PvP at that level. Also they might enter RV think no one here and leave. 3 minutes later someone else walks in thinks its empty and leaves. The only times when there has been alot of PvP in RV is when it has been organised. So that all the players that like to PvP in RV are there at the same time.

I don't believe that the people farming pillboxes for xp or badges are exclusive to farming xp/badges either. I've seen people go from PvE to PvP when the enemy shows up and I've done it myself.

Lower the Environment aspect and boost the Player aspect; that's all we're asking for; and is something, that in a way, you agree with.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I think if the environment aspect was lowered it would be too easy. If we go by the three teams needed then the level of difficulty is just right for the AVs/Heroes. Making things easier would also detract from the level of heroism/villainy. If Recluse etc. were easy to defeat why are they still in power? I see the zone as being tough and unforgiving as I can't just wade in and take over things solo. I need backup in the form of a heavy or a team.

Another thing is that Heavies reduce the amount of players needed to take over pillboxes or defeat AVs. If they were reduced in effectiveness there would be very little point in them.

And anyway. Healbot/Buffbot; it just means the Empath doesn't do anything other than watch a health/buff bar and that's not an exciting thing to do.

    [/ QUOTE ]

What? Have you ever actually DONE this? Like, properly?

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Yes. Sux

    [/ QUOTE ]

Don't you have to avoid the other team too? Avoid getting killed yourself? lol

I think theres more too it than watching health and buffs. I've never been an empath but i've played kinetic and thats not too different. Buff and get chased while humming 'staying alive'.

Out of interest what are the rewards in RV?

    [/ QUOTE ]

Well ... If you manage to get 1000 temporal points before the zone resets, you receive a Mini-Heavy pet temp power that does virtually no damage and appears to be made out of glass.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Must have been different to the ones I got then. I used one in Siren's Call to good effect a couple of months ago and then I used another to help take down Jurassik. They seem to last for ages.
  4. I agree about large teams in RV. The more people the better. Unfortunatly when this has happened everyone clumps together instead of spreading out. Ideally there would be several battles between the two sides going on. 3 teams with a heavy each and looking after 2 pillboxes each. Then same again for villains.
  5. The most PvP (on Union) happens in Warburg (over 20 players there the other night) and Siren's Call. The only thing I farm in Siren's Call is bounty for the SOs.

Bloody Bay isn't just for Shivans as when ever I've been there, there has been (what seems to me) new PvPers trying to fight each other.

Recluses Victory is probably the least visited because the least amount of people have a level 40-50. Anyone feel like going back through the thread to find out how many people don't like Heavies? I would but I have to go to work now.

Besides one of my original points that Heavies serve no purpose in PVP other than making the reward-grinding in RV easier.

    [/ QUOTE ]

They are also something different that no other zone has and allows anyone to access the MM control system. How can this be a bad thing?

  10. Its possible for some Blasters and depending on the AT they are fighting/who they are fighting.
  11. No that would take too long and isn't practical. You either find someone that can beat them already or adjust your tactics so you are more like scissors than rock. Thats just it btw, its Rock, Paper, Scissors not RPS and Acid.
  12. Sounds fair to me. Everything has a counter and nothing is unbeatable.

and Masterminds Leadershipping their GP's with Range.

    [/ QUOTE ]

What does this even mean? "Leadershipping with Range"? Sounds like something you'd find in a Japanese medical surgery.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Does it mean the MM are just staying really close so the Heavy gets the benefit of leadership?
Its not difficult to seperate someone from their heavy. Immobilise the heavy and get the player to chase you, or use teleport foe. Or have someone else with alot of knockback (Kinetic, Storm, Sonic etc.) to take on the heavy.
If you think they are going to one shot you, take some insp or get a team mate that can buff you.
  14. [ QUOTE ]
Wow. You've found the weakness. It's a real shame that certain builds can't do that. Ever.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Yeah you need to be a kinetic with Repel, or team with a sonic and get them to put repulsion on you. Or take whirlwind lol. Rubbish powers that no one ever takes but are actually good at keeping heavies off their feet.
  15. [ QUOTE ]
Honestly the heavies are to strong and because you can be one shotted by them, heavily tip the balence in one way or another

    [/ QUOTE ]

Yes Heavies are too strong, takes me 2 minutes to defeat them with my Defender. Right after I drain them of endurance and use them as a football.
  16. Can't even jokingly fight enemy mobs.
  17. Just to clarify then, if your in a PvP zone your fair game. Purposefully setting out to stop an event in a PvP zone is also fair game but not everyone will like it and thats tough on them. You can either let them have their way and leave the zone or block all communication and continue anyway safe in the fact you are not insulting anyone or doing a petitionable offense. Just be prepared for them stopping you have your fun in stopping them having theirs.
  18. True and thats up to the individual players whether to be nice or not. As for getting teleported and defeated, you were in the PvP zone so you agreed to PvP. Disagreeing to PvP involves leaving the zone.
  19. I go to RV for PvP and any thing which could be fun. Never for xp as i just think farming pillboxes takes too long and is tedious. I'll take control of the zone but only if there are villains around or i want the temp power.
  20. What has that got to do with the PvP zone situation? One golf course's weren't intended to be used as football pitches and two i think it would be more dangerous for the football players. Imagine getting hit by a golf club :S I can sort of see what your getting at but my suggestion of leaving the zone is more out of politeness. I think using a sports hall as a tennis court and having to ring up to check to see if the footballers were playing is a better analogy.
  21. There is a place where there are no NPCs and you can PvP at any level you like. Its called the Arena. I don't care how buggy it is, there are no computer controlled enemies. :P
  22. I suppose if you want to avoid getting flamed you could find out if anything is going on in the zone first and walk away if there's some organised event or set it so you don't recieve enemy tells or hear them on broadcast when you purposefully set out to foil the enemies efforts and they are the enemy not just 'the other side'. This also makes you their enemy and nobody likes enemies lol. So venom over tells might be justified but you can block it and your not breaking any rules except those made by players. So you won't get banned, just disliked. Edit: For any tells that aren't justified such as the downright personal nasty ones, petition them. Might be there a while though if you annoy a zone of AV hunters.
  23. I like the idea of running around with some heavy fire power backing up my low damage defender. It enables me to take part in the rest of the zone content and it means i don't need a specific AT or a minimum number of players in my team. In terms of PvP i consider it to be PvP when you fight a heavy as it is in a small way controlled by another player. It might not be possible to solo a heavy with certain characters, but there are more that can incapacitate them.
  24. Yes its bad to be a badger in a pvp zone. They might get their fur singed by a passing fire tank. Probably an endangered species in the future. Not that you get badgers in America.
  25. What farmers? Lol. The pillboxes were hardly touched except to get the right combination for the AVs that needed defeating. I think it was more of a case of bad luck for the villains who were in the zone. Altho some were requesting to be confused so they could help out near the end of the event.
