I don't find the attacks in elec particularly appealing - I tried a kin/elec briefly but the damage was low (with the exception of the nuke, which was awesome) and it didn't have that many straight-up attacks. As a Kin, I play very offensively, defending from the front, as it were, and the high-damage energy blasts are better suited for that purpose. Psi, Son, Elec and Rad would be my kin choices.

I play my Kinetic/Electric at the front, usually in the middle of the group of enemies. Electric beats energy as it doesn't do knockback. The amount of times I jump into a mob, fulcrum shift after short circuit, then follow up with a ball of lighting and I don't die is unbelievably high. I usually follow with another short circuit, transferance and then take anything left standing one at a time.
There is no knockback so everything remains nicely grouped. Believe me when I say the damage is not low. -

I think once there has been a short successful raid more people will be interested in turning up. Until then we just have to keep trying and stock piling EoEs lol.

I'd have to recommend taking a TA/A on the STF as all the debuffs help alot. It doesn't matter if Oil Slick doesn't light as the auto hit defence debuff is great for Mako. Glue, hold and immobilse for GW and poison gas for Black Scorpion and Scirocco. Altho i just use all on them all

I'm finding my Level 14 Trick Arrows/Archery Defender to be surprisingly incapable.
[/ QUOTE ]
Trick Arrow/Archery only really works well with a team. I've got a level 50 and its slow to solo a mission and somethings are just impossible as it has a low damage output. -

Gatling very very rarely dies
[/ QUOTE ]
Isn't that the sign of good support? Would he die with a different empath on the team?
[/ QUOTE ]
Nope the thing with gatling is, he knows when to run and doesn't stand in melee and acts like hey the empath is healing me no need to run. When he knows he's being spiked he runs and doesn't keep attacking.
[/ QUOTE ]
This could be like a guide on how to play a good blaster. -

Me!
...and I've a forum title to prove it.

Can't really argue with that. -
I thought everyone usually agreed on these things or face someone they thought didn't deserve the rank in PvP till their mind was changed.
-
Someone should make a list of top 5 non empath defenders.

Ive been playing the game a while now and i had my first PvP deathmatch last night.....and it Rulzz. I only hav 2 prob.
1. The hero's are [Censored] they keep runing back to there basses to recover....
[/ QUOTE ]
Villains do the same as its a valid tactic. There are ways of stopping them, like using certain immobilse or -jump powers or by getting a team together and everyone attacking the same player.

2. I hav a Mutant Corruptor is it a good arhtype for a PvP Zone?
[/ QUOTE ]
Yeah there needs to be more Corruptors in PvP. You'll find you will get targetted alot though.

I just realised I need a volunteer Trick Arrow guy to fire Oil Slick for the dark defender to fire his ressurect off. Any takers?

I can bring mine. -

I define squishies as something without a primary or secondary which offers regen, defense, resistance.
[/ QUOTE ]
So a Sonic defender isn't squishy? -
[ QUOTE ]
The only exception i can think of is the Monkey fight club, which was stuck in an area most level 1-11's (you get fly/teleport/superjump/superspeed at 12) couldn't get to without getting killed repeatedly or making a 100 metre dash from the PD entrance to the MFC entrance...that was clever going Cryptic...very clever...perhaps if you put it in say mercy/port oakes then it wouldn't be this deserted place randomly stuck in Sharkshead. /golfclap.
[/ QUOTE ]
What about the Port Oakes entrance or the PD Teleport temp power? I've never had any trouble getting in from the Hero side either. -

I learned that you cannot blap the yellow mitochondria. I wonder if sonic or forcefield dispersion would help?
[/ QUOTE ]
I was thinking Sonic Disruption field would be good to put on the scrappers to reduce the resistance of the Yellows, as I couldn't hit them with my ranged powers.
I think there was one Forcefield and one Sonic (me) at the raid. I was with the scrappers and they did seem alot more useful than in Pre-I9. We only did the raid with 37-43 people, numbers went up and down throughout as people left and arrived. I'm sure with the full 50 and everyone knowing what to do, we could cut the raid time down by alot. -
Good Job everyone that took part, it'll definatly be easier next time and I certainly learnt a few things on how to take down the new Hamidon. I should probably read a few guides and see how it compares.
I'm tempted to lead one of my own, but I don't think I know enough about what the Blasters and Controllers were doing. -
I've been fighting IO'd Stalkers with my Kinetic the last two nights and it's been pretty even. They get me and I either escape or i got them with help from a team or my heavy lol. One stalker claimed he was at the stealth cap with stealth+hide+stealth IO. I wasn't too sure, but it didn't make much difference anyway as i was too quick for him. The only stalker that gave me trouble made good use of immobilise and -jump powers. Except i had Siphon Speed and can run almost as fast as Super Speed. Haven't really noticed if other villains had IOs slotted in PvP.
-
Just had this 'chat' and thought i'd share.
[Tell]Player: Hi, could you please maybe join team for a few minutes? You don't need to go anywhere or do anything - I just need people so I can get a level 53 Rikti boss in my mission to use to get my damage badges.
[Tell]-->Player: Go to RV and do PvP
[Tell]Player: no.
[Tell]-->Player:you'll get loads of damage then
[Tell]Playervp is for losers:P
[Tell]-->Player:Stalkers ASing left right and centre
[Tell]-->Player:its not limited to losers, there are winners too
[Tell]Player:sorry only losers at life admitted kthxbye
[Tell]-->Player:bye then
Does this mean i'm not a loser at life cos I'm not admitted? lol -
After a month of I9 what does everyone think of IO builds in PvP? I think they are nice to have but not game breaking. I've only managed to get one toon nearly fully slotted and i notice the difference. When i've been defeated by regen rate means i don't have to use rest everytime i leave the Hero base in RV after being defeated.
-
I was in RV most of last night and there was abit of farming going on. There were a few villains but no more than 2 or 3 in the zone at once. Stalkers and brutes were the favourites but there was a MM and a corrupter at one point. The only time the stalkers were any trouble were when they activated elude or whatever powerset version they had of it. Broadcast was largely quiet except for a hero player that seemed to not have had the game for long and two villains that were trying to make themselves feel good lol.
-
I've only been to PvP zones a couple of times since I9 came out. Too much time spent trying to get IOs and level another villain lol. I have heard that RV is getting stalker heavy though. Siren's was already. My sonic needs to come and help fight
