Quote:I am not making fun of anyone for liking to collect badges. I like to collect badges too.I have little sympathy for people who think they are making fun of others who like to collect badges. *shrugs*
I am simply saying I do not believe all badges need to be accessible to all people. Whether that is through limited times to get them or limited means to get them or any other limits the devs decide on. -
Quote:I was not really thinking about it that hard. Mostly I was making a joke. I just have little sympathy with people who feel they have a right to have every badge. I don't have a problem with completists desire, except when it is used as a reason to argue the devs should limit their design of badges based on that desire.Or where you thinking more like badges that current badge hunters can't get like:
Avid Reader, Moral High Ground
It's nice that some people want all the badges, but I do not think the devs should be constrained by that fact. -
When I read threads like this, I sometimes wish the devs would create 1000 new badges, where one of the requirements is not having a current badge.
Vampire Lover - If you have Slayer, you can't get this.
Dog's Best Friend - If you have Silver Bullet, this badge is locked out.
Lost in Space - If you have Finder, you can't get this badge.
Ignorance is Bliss - If you have Keeper of the Secret, this badge is unattainable. -
When joining a trial, my league once got thrown into the Praetorian tutorial. I tried very hard to get avid reader, but sadly someone completed the mission before we could click through the 5 or 6 clicks to get the badge (once the mission completes, he no longer chats with you it seems). I did get some badge at the end, agent of something I guess.

I don't think there is any one answer to the question and I hope it stays that way. Each channel will have its own rules and the community will either gel to those rules and enjoy that channel because it matches their goals or they will move on to other channels that are more appropriate for them. I want that variety to remain.

IMO, it is better to head to your server's gathering point and join a pre-formed league. Until the LFG tool is cross-sever, it will be a useless tool (unless the game's population triples or better, which would thrill me, but seems unlikely).

Quote:While I agree, I can truly sympathize that most people just don't have the skill/energy to form teams, much less leagues. While I almost always lead, some nights I just do not feel like it. I can understand that many people just do not feel like it all the time and rely on people like me to do the work for them. I am OK with doing that work, of course it may mean I will kick you, since you decided you did not want the star.Nothing is stopping players from forming their own league.
Look, kicking that person from my league made me feel bad. I would have felt worse if I had let them stay and they messed up my test, but I still did not like doing it. They had actually dropped into another league I had run some time in the past week or two (and that was just a regular run, so I moved them into a team and we were all happy), so they must use the queue that way more often than not. Needless to say they were not happy about being kicked and I likely could have handled the situation better, but I was on limited time and had formed the league for a specific reason and if I did not get it done that night, I would likely have had to wait until next week or maybe longer to get it done.
Quote:If they are waiting in queue for someone else to do the work for them then they can use that time constructively by running other regular missions. The only time that gets wasted is the time they choose to waste by standing around doing nothing. They have no one to blame but themselves in that situation. -
Quote:Curses! Foiled again.Second, before the rumor mill starts churning, this isn't about ... going server-less, either -- the server communities are genuinely important to you and to us.
In game communities are mostly global channel based, which are already "server-less". I'd love to be able to play my Guardian characters with my Pinnacle friends and my Liberty characters with my Guardian friends and my Protector characters with my Liberty friends and my Pinnacle characters with my Protector friends all of which I primarily interact with through various global chat channels.
Keeps the dream alive. -
It is not 0.1% of the game. It is 40 minutes to an hour of my play time during the week. That could be 5%, 20%, 50%, or 100% of my play time that week, depending on my schedule. I'd rather not spend any of that time "suffering", just like I am sure you would not rather spend any of your play time "suffering".

Quote:Someone gets "punished" no matter what happens. We both agree that it's a bad design. My problem is, why are we punishing the ones using it as designed, at least until it's fixed?
Either the players who want a closed league are punished by not being able to play how they want.
Or the pick-ups from the queue get punished by not being able to play when they want.
Why are you willing to punish the former, but feel the latter should never be punished? -
I usually run 4 teams of x for Keep Em Separated (although I have done it with 3 teams as well). Sometimes I'll also see something in the AT makeup that makes me want to use 4 teams instead of 3.
I really wish "team" was irrelevant in the trial's reward generation, as using them for organizational purposes should be their function. -
I do not really like the idea of being able to lock leagues. I think it is much more likely for people to NOT kick, even if they would have preferred to remain "closed". I agree with the following:
Quote:I have had several random people from the queue join preformed leagues. I welcome that personally and consider it a good feature. Is there some recognition by folks on either side of this debate that you're arguing over corner cases? Most of the time, this isn't a big deal. It's like anytime you're dealing with PUGs. Most experiences are fine, it's the few outliers that get your attention. But that doesn't change the fact that the bad experiences are the outliers.
Most people won't kick stragglers or care they got dumped into their trial.
However, I did kick someone once, just this last week. I own that call totally and I am OK with the fact that it means that one night, in that one instance, I was a jerk. Obviously, I felt I had a good reason, but that does not change the fact that the person I kicked had to join a different run and lost x amount of time.
I do like to occasionally run SG/friends only events. If you gave me the option to close leagues, I would likely use it occasionally. I still do not want the option added because I prefer the trials and LFG system to be as they are now. -
Storm does not have a regeneration debuff, its resistance and defense debuffs should be double, since at 100% recharge you can stack Freezing Rain (usually, the pet despawn bug may get you).

This happens to me on my Controller with EE often. I can't recall having it happen on my tanker yet, but it probably has, just not as often thanks to the extra HPs and other mitigation.
-
I took most of my villains rogue, that way I can join friends blue side, but still run my red side arcs when I want. Of course, I also took many of my heroes vigilante. Being able to play with any of my friends on any toon I want is very important to me (which is why I hope for a server-less game (or cross-server teaming) one day).

I try to make the following macro on all my people with Lore (so far I am failing miserably and only have it on 2 of ~7 characters with Lore).
/macro Atk "petcom_all aggressive attack"
It is likely a good idea to at least have 2 other commands.
/macro Def "petcom_all defensive follow"
/macro Pas "petcom_all passive follow"
All that being said, I was on an STF and while tanking Recluse I tried to have my Lore pets help on the towers. I dragged LR over to be relatively close to the red tower (but not close enough for him to AoE the team) and summoned the pets, I then targeted the red tower and pushed my macro. Vicki charged Recluse, yay scrapperlock. I tried several times to get her to attack the tower instead, but she just kept pointlessly flailing away on Recluse. Eventually, I succeeded in getting her to attack the Blue tower, and then she was fine doing that and working on the yellow. -

Thanks much for the heads up and the work on fixing it.

Earth's Embrace is on the same recharge as Dull Pain. Obviously, if you use Granite, this may affect the situation, but out of the box, the power's recharges are identical. Also, EE grants 20% enhanceable Toxic resistance, which DP does not do.

I wanted to to run a Lambda where we did a minimal amount of the needed objectives while still trying to succeed. I also was personally dogging it badly (and so were a few others). I was trying to see if I could manufacture the thread table drop.
Here is a post with some more details and a video link. -
Quote:The end drains are rough on my WP tanker, but my Inv scrapper, oddly, has fewer problems. Once I get Ageless, I think my Tanker will do much better. My AoE melee blaster has few problems with the end drain, although the green bar can be problematic once the inspires run out.It sucks for the aggro toon.
I do it all the time anyway, but its awful.
Its not the damage, its the endless end drains and sometimes recovery/regen debuff.
Maybe 1 out of 5 runs I might have a support player sticking with me who can help with that.
Good luck convincing your average PUG player to do this.
I have taken to carrying a few blues on those characters who may get hit with EMP rockets and Drain Psyche a lot.
