After two years, I was disheartened.
But now that I can see the promised land... Squeeeeee!
Hopefully /MA is next and soon. -

Do blasters get a HEAL? Granted its a terrible attack and poor heal, but I never would have thought they'd leave Life Drain.
I wonder if the chance for KB is 60% in Nightfall? Maybe they widened the cone some? -
Gah! I love the heal in Energy Drain, but with higher resistances and the chance to push my defenses even further above the cap I could be OK. But what power do I respec out of to pick up Energize? Oh tough choices!
Hmmm. Maybe Energy Cloak; but... but, stealth Brute goes bye, bye to be more strong and pretty? Maybe Darkest Night, although the -damage was nice to help the team as well as myself. Hmmm, maybe I can lose Aid Self.
Thank you for leaving Tentacles in Dark Blast, I am thrilled. You left the heal too, didn't you. Hmmm, very interesting.
Edit: OMG Poison buffs too! My Mercs/Posion MM will be better, yay!
Of all days to miss the Ustream! Gah! Curse the grass and its tendency to grow. -
Quote:Yes, any open league should have to wait a reasonable amount of time to allow others to join, otherwise it is not really open. Five minutes is reasonable, 90 seconds is not.The problem is that while it tries to guarantee more than the minimum, it totally ignores groups that are well over the minimum, but not at the maximum for the trial. Say the league has 16/24, 12/16, or more. Should they be annoyed by the delay? And may I remind you that there is absolutely no way to see how much longer the wait is?
Yes, there is no way to see how much longer the wait is and that needs to be fixed. The solution is to add a visible timer for everyone in the queue as they get added to a league, not to remove the delay outright or shorten it to a pointless time period.
Yes, the system does not alert potential people who could join when an open league enters the queue. The solution is to add an alert that everyone can see, just like when a zone event starts. Ideally, the alert would include the leader of the league that queued in as well as the time until start and possibly repeat at 3 minutes to go and 1 minute to go (even better would be a timer on the original message that just counted down, but that tech may be too much of a reach).
Yes, there are bugs when a league zones in, teams get shuffled, the league star goes to the leader of whichever team has the fastest loader, and team get broken up. Those should be fixed but none are a reason to lower the time to allow others to join to a pointlessly small amount. -
No! Empathy is still fun. Also, it is always good to keep it around in case they buff it. No one expected Kin to get buffed, maybe Emps will too one day.

I have never been a good chainer outside of a few characters.
My standard while leveling (once I got into the teens) would be Bullet Rain, FSC, then FS the worst enemy (usually its dead), then Ring something then Pistols something. Solo I use inspires frequently, often trying to keep a purple running. I move quick, trying to get as many spawns per inspire as I can, especially in the early levels when my inspire tray is smaller.
I often team while leveling, so I'll either let someone tougher take the initial aggro or I hope to keep the aggro off any corruptors, defenders, or controllers so they can focus on debilitating the enemy or buffing me.
Once you get into the late 20s, early 30s, you can have a decent single target chain with the primary. Your own tolerance for redraw will now come into play. I have a high tolerance, so I still do not chain well, mixing in my secondary attacks and Pistol's attacks freely. During AV and maybe EB fights I'll do better and chain several primary attacks, then switch to Ring and Sword, then primary again, trying to minimize redraw (unless we need the immob, in which case I throw in Ring frequently and redraw often, which is even painful to me). Now with Build Up, you can boost the AoEs, so that it doesn't take as many single target attacks, and of course Build Up is helpful for boss fights as well.
Of course, single target is not where this combo shines and after 33, you really become a spawnmower. Bullet Rain + FSC are still great, but adding HoB every third spawn is very nice. With good recharge, you are looking every other spawn, HoB + Bullet Rain, then FSC if needed, then mop up with single target attacks.
I like Executioner's Shot and would never skip it. PR is also good, but for its end cost and opportunity cost, you can take it or leave it. Since I leave incendiary ammo on almost always now, I don't get the -resist bonus from PR. However, I giggle delightedly everytime I hit 3 things with PR. -
Quote:Oh wow. I thought the Community billboards were using the same tech as the dropped advertising stuff. I had figured the art could just be placed into whatever location the ad tech was grabbing it from and then cycled onto the billboards. Adding it manually, hmmm.To give a bit of insight,
We'd most certainly love to do this, however each of those Community billboards is placed by hand into the game world, thus requiring production time. As you may imagine, our production calendar is pretty full up at the moment, but we'll certainly take the sentiment into consideration for future builds. -
Quote:I am pretty sure that KM can out DPS BS once you factor in Power Siphon vs. Build Up. Power Siphon also works very well with BA and Burn and FE. And there is no redraw when using Fiery and switching back to KM.So I was getting extremely upset with KM after I started to compare it to other sets. I chose to switch KM with BS because I could create a shorter, all HIGH or above damage attack chain and still keep permahaste. If you wouldn't mind taking a look at what I have come up with..

Quote:However, you likely spend far more time than 5 minutes currently even after you get the minimum needed for a trial. If the LFG system is ever going to work, we truly need to be encouraged to use it to actually get leaguemates. In 5 minutes, with proper communication and the playerbase learning that the system actually functions, it is likely the LFG system could add many people to a league. At 90 seconds, you may as well go back to the old system where you just enter the trial immediately, because that is not long enough for people outside of the pre-form to finish what they were doing and join the queue.Disagree again. Once I hit the button, I want to be punching things in the face. My play time has been significantly diminished the last few months, and "waiting around" is not how I want to spend the time I do get.
Rather than take 20 minutes to pre-form, you take 10 minutes, then enter the queue and wait 5 more minutes. If the system is allowed to function, it would often save time even with the 5 minute wait period. Giving the new system such a brief attempt at working before cutting its legs out from under it is a grave mistake, IMO.
The TuT is a GREAT idea and has GREAT potential. It needs some work to make it better, but 90 seconds is WAY too short to actually function well for that potential. If the devs want to give up on the TuT and just have us pre-form, that is one thing, but I get the feeling they actually want us to be able to form leagues with this tool. -
Thank you very much. That is very helpful.

Quote:Boo! 90 seconds is too short. Way to completely undermine the LFG system once again. Sigh. 5 minutes was fine. If you feel you must lower it... no, 5 minutes if good, any lower and we just may as well keep ignoring the dumb thing.Team Up Teleporter
- Open Leagues have up to a 5 minute wait before the Incarnate Trial will start.
- A fix for this is in progress. The wait period to increase the size of the league will be lowered to 90 seconds.
The real problem is we have no notice that we are queued and have a wait. People do not mind terribly waiting a little bit, but they do mind not knowing how long the wait is going to be.
Yay, I hope it can be figured out. - Open Leagues have up to a 5 minute wait before the Incarnate Trial will start.

I would love to see the binds for this. I now want to create a character and setup binds that make the behavior of my own toon less than predictable. I think I have some possible ideas for how to do this, but seeing your binds could be helpful.
-
/bind f12 "getglobalname $target"
That may help you in the meanwhile. -
Quote:One thing that really helps with Ice Blast and slows is that the Ice Blast animations are very fast. Hit and move, hit and move is very easy with Ice Blast and a slowed enemy.Yeah you're right Miladys. I never noticed a major difference with my slows even though CoD says they're almost on par with Ice Blast (but I never played Ice Blast to high levels).
Dual Pistols animations are... longer. I tried out Cryo rounds extensively while Pistols was in beta. With Ice blast, I could slow a roman so that he never caught up to me while I attacked steadily. With Pistols, it was impossible. Even a goodly slowed Roman would catch me by the time ES or PR animated. Chaining Pistols and Dual Wield is not great damage, and has barely any slow effect, so that is not a viable alternative.
I am gonna stick with, kill it with fire (standard rounds can be OK while leveling, the KB is decent enough to be useful).
In the end, Cryo and Chem rounds are less functional than they should be. -
Quote:3) Some type of server wide event notification should be made if the league size minimum is reached (which would be usually for a preformed that stays open, most people do not queue up until they know they can actually start the trial). That way, as soon as you queue up, the whole server is notified that there is a trial they can also queue up to join. Bonus points if the event notification includes the league leaders name.Quote:3) Dont think this is needed since a league lead with a brain could do this in channels.
The visible timer is the most important thing to make keep people running trials already happier. The announcement idea is likely one of the best things the game can do for its own health. -
Quote:All people need to do to join a league that is already queued is to join the queue themselves. The system is not at fault, but we need to learn how to use it. No one needed to be denied access to the trial just because you could no longer invite them, those people just needed to press LFG, choose the trial you were running, then queue in themselves. They would have automagically joined your trial!Stratus I don't understand what is possible to enjoy about it? lol. We've had to deny several people in public trials i've been a part of because we were 3minutes into the queue and someone asked to join, and exiting queue to invite them would reset that nonsense. "Oh you could just invite them after starting with the new feature" next problem lol;
Quote:Besides taking your pre-created league and playing 52pickup with its sorting as you load in, the "invite to league in progress" doesn't work as far as I've heard. Me and 6 other people on my server tried it on different trials and all we got after sending the invite was "unknown command tut_invite"(even though we didnt type that, we used /li or whatever else). HOW did that get through closed&open beta, and test server, and never be reported as not working?
-
Quote:Hmmm, I am pretty sure I have been in full leagues that queued instantly, but I have not yet led a full league since the change, so maybe I missed something the leader did.1.) If possible, change it so that if I have the max. needed for a trial (24 for BAF or KIR) already in my league and it's an "Open" league, and I join the queue for either BAF or KIR, please start it "Now". Doesn't make any sense to have to wait 5 minutes when you have the max you can have already.
2.) Again, if possible, if I have, let's say, 20 people ready for a KIR/BAF and we join the queue knowing it takes 5 mins, someone will inevitable quit and/or want to join; if there was a way to invite them to the league while we are waiting that'd be great.
One good thing to do after you queue, IMO, is too announce that fact as loudly as you can. After I queued up a 14 man Keyes last night, I announced in Broadcast and 3 different global channels that a Keyes was queued up. We ended up with 17. While the queue system is not yet good, recent changes have significantly improved using its great potential. I just recently suggested that upon entering the queue as an open league, a server wide announcement should automatically happen.
"I have just queued up a Keyes trial. If you want to join please press LFG, select the Keyes trial, and Queue in." -
Quote:Indeed, however if you want to lose the KB, then you have to lose all the other secondary effects on all your characters.I think this would be the only secondary effect that I personally would want to be able to modify.
Naturally, you could only make this change, once a month. -
We have IOs for slow resistance and KB protection. I think this is a good idea. It has been quite sometime since Inventions have seen any dev love or resources. If the devs do decide to give us some more IO options, I hope they consider this concept.

Quote:Ironically, this is the opposite of how I normally feel. I usually use the trials to get to 80-90% and then (especially if I already have the power crafted) may just use threads to finish it off. I don't care if I need 50,000 or 1 xp at that point, since I just want to unlock the dang slot.I would like there to be a warning popup when crafting physical and psychic XP with incarnate threads; If the 50,000 XP I'll earn from converting will go over the amount I need to unlock the last slot, just have a window pop up warning me that some of the XP will be wasted, and tell me how much. If I only need 3,000 more XP to unlock the last physical slot, for example, I'd just as soon save the thread and inf and earn that in a trial.
Although I have not run a trial to unlock any slots since the I20.5 XP nerf. -
Working on changing my camera angle now for the final fight. I have found that with my UI layout, I have better luck seeing the disintegrate messages if I keep my angle low, so that I am looking straight out, or maybe even slightly up (instead of the standard slightly looking down angle). I am almost always zoomed really far out and I keep it that way. Zooming in close made it even harder.
So for me, stay zoomed way out, but flatten my view. I helped save 4 people my last run for sure, I am getting better at this.
Perhaps the disintegrate float text could be made to linger an extra 0.5 to 1 second? That small change could be hugely helpful. -
Indeed. All the more reason to TEACH people that they exist and how to use them, so that they can be encouraged to BUY access.
-
This is ******** and should be changed.

The new in-game tutorial should teach people how to add chat tabs and how to add chat channels to those tabs AND how to find player created global channels.
