  1. At this time, I only have two 50's that are fully IO'ed and never bothered with with starting them until lvl 47/48. As someone who doesn't farm/merchant, money is always an issue here so I just do what I can to scrounge for what I need through all of my toons together. I figured all 50's or majority of them at least would just be easier in the long run. The only difference I see when I exemplar down is not having Perma PA on my Ill/TA (I have some level 30 basilisk sets on that build as well as some future), but my main Storm/Dark never seems any less powerful with nothing but 50's/no purples.

Actually, I have been wondering this myself for awhile. I am starting to raise a couple of late level 30's and considering starting them early on IO sets and wondering if the slight percentage change worth buying lvl 45's compared to 50's.
  2. I am noticing a new trend of upcoming Steampunk SG's. Perhaps there should be a sitdown for a future coalition of Steam for all of them?

And a bit off topic: this weekend in Dearborn MI will be the second annual World Steam Expo. Not sure if I am making it this year but definitely going try.

Only difference between by suggestions and Grav/Kin now seems to be the Reverse Time effect. I still think it would be pretty cool. Something tells me that Time Control could still be done somehow but we'll have to see.
Well being a time travel enthusiast, I completely understand though in my time controller, I look at Wormhole as a time reversal since it pushes a group of foes away, reversing their time to a degree.

Don't get me wrong, I think a Time Control would be fun but until then, I rather enjoy Grav/Kin as my makeshift Time Controller.

Edit* You know, just looking at Dominators.. you could also do a Grav/Psi. It lacks Kinetics buffs but you could play offs Psi's telekinetics and immobilizations as time based attacks.

Speed and recharge boosts for you and debuffs for them? I think it would be awesome, and easily do-able if enough thought was put into it.

One friend of mine tries to run this concept as an Earth/Fire dominator (I think it's that anyway) because he believes that manipulating the earth is the closest thing the game has to Time Control. Think of it as the Earth moving back into its previous states back in time...

If the developers were to ever need brand new and fresh ideas for powers (and not so much moving already known power types to other archetypes) then I seriously think they should consider Time Control if they haven't already. It would be bloody brilliant.
Everything that you stated, to me at least, could be found in a Grav/Kin

    Lift/gravity distortion/crushing field/ect.= Time displacement
Propel = Taking objects out of time
    Singularity = Living Quantum field

    as far as kinetics

Transfusion/Siphon Power/ect. = Taking time away from someone
Speedboost/inertial reduction = Time speed up

To me at least, that combination has pretty much everything a Time Controller needs if you look at in the right way.
  5. Doubt it will ever happen but I would love Illusion/Traps. I rather enjoy my trick arrow but traps would be fun.

    Coincidence?

Jesus HAS returned... and with epic shoulder plates.
  7. But we already have chosen our intergalactic champion and sent him forward to do battle.

  8. Also, as someone who will be using the wings quite frequently on at least 3 characters.. after testing, I am realizing that, while I love their style, I do wish the wings themselves were slightly larger/longer and folded a bit more elegantly and tighter, not unlike the Tech wings.

Other then that, I say bravo! I have actually made wings like this in RL twice for costumes and I really love how these were done overall.
  9. I am showing +fly as well as +jump height.. In Fly, I am going from +19.69 mph to 45.84 but thats for BOTH GVE and Steam Jump.. which is odd considering that neither causes any change in Jumping speed, only max height.
  10. Personally, I rather like all of the emotes but, my only concern is that the Inspiration emote isn't very.. inspirational? I think the light bulb needs to be viewable a bit longer before the emote ends. As it is, it only lasts 2 seconds after several seconds of Plotting. Maybe extend it out a few more seconds, but otherwise its a great emote.

Try this http://boards.cityofheroes.com//charactercopy.php since they merged the servers and the EU Training Room is offline/internal now, it should work.

On Topic: I removed my original post here and moved it to the Feedback: Costumes thread since I felt it would be better there but I just wanted to point out a couple things. Concerning the bow tie on the Classic Steampunk, I think it would be best removed as well. As it is now, we already have 2 bow tie options (one in Shoulders, the other in Chest Details) and just don't see the point in having this attached as it limits us quite a bit.

Secondly, I can't help but reiterate how both male/female jacket parts should be made for the sleeveless options as well. I think everyone can agree that would be the most beneficial out of all our suggestions.

But, if I hadn't said it before, the artwork, concept designs overall are stunning and I for one can not wait for this pack to go live! As both an artist and a neo-victorian/steampunk enthusiast in RL for longer then it has had a label, I definitely commend the people that worked on this!
  12. Since this is the Feedback thread, I'll just move this here. Repeating a few things but I think it needs pointed out

Ok, after playing with a few options now and looking at it a bit closer, a few more points/possible fixes.

    1. Classic Steampunk 01 Sleeves - as Lye stated, the color pattern is off. It has to do with the underlay being too bright/white I think.. or the pattern itself is blending too far into it. Here, the shirt and sleeve are using the same color but as you can tell, there is a quite a difference. Darker shades its somewhat more pronounced, however, lighter shades probably wouldn't have much of a difference. I would say darken the model skin under the texture (much like in the Uniform Sleeves).

    2. The Victorian Steampunk 01 and 02 Long Coats - While I personally am not a big fan of this (I prefer the Magic coats) I would recommend one minor change. Rather then having the Coat and shirt linked for the first color option, I recommend doing what you did with the Magic coat. Linking just the coat/vest together while leaving the shirt option for another another color.

    3. removing the Bow tie in Classic Steampunk (metal vest). This just doesn't look well and we already have a very nice bow tie available in chest detail that would work very well there.

While we are on the subject of collars/cravats, I would commend the artists on making realistic cravats but I sorely wished they would have made these as Chest Detail pieces rather then attached to the shirts themselves. I personally prefer mixing and matching colors of ties and use them quite often. I love the chest pieces and can't wait for the set still but I think it would have been better if they just remove the ties on all of them and have the Cravat as a chest detail.

    4. Again, I beg all of the powers that be to have sleeveless jacket options. I would gladly trade in everything above if I knew this would be done.

    5. I just discovered a slight bug with the male boots. When you choose the boots under Tights, the coloration becomes distorted and flat. The secondary color also doesn't show. This same thing occurs under all other leg options except tucked in.

Overall though, I am still impressed and can't wait for the pack.
  13. Yes, I agree I would very much like being able to color the hair on the hats. I must say also, as someone who has more then 20 characters that will use something from this pack and I am getting within the hour its first released, I am begging.. please.. give us sleeveless jacket options.. Everything else to me is practically perfect but that is something I really need. I like mixing the Resistance shoulders/gloves and other sleeveless options with jackets quite often (those are some of my favorite styles) and I know that this would be something that everyone would get much use out of.

As for the faces.. as an artist myself, I understand the principle behind it but I feel alot of the issues with the faces are the sheen from the lighting. If it were toned down or had a layered textured added, I think that would make a bigger difference with the "doll" head affect which I have run into myself.
  14. Congratulations! Gotta love that name as well.
  15. Freaking bird almost took my head off.. and I think he said something about my mother...

  16. Well first, if that bothers you, wait till you see the Vanguard bow.. beautiful to look at it but makes you wonder what the hell the string is exactly attached to heh.

Secondly, it doesn't really bother me all that much overall, mostly because the more animation/graphics, the more lag/draw time. The Mongolian bow doesn't have "that" much bend to it in reality but the other bows should I suppose. However, typically I am concentrating on other aspects rather than those little details, and normally those details bug me as well.. *looks down at his hands* dear god I have no fingers... why don't I have fingers? Zombies get fingers.. but I don't?
  17. While I have not had an MM do the trials, my only two 50's are, shall we say having a similar situation from what I have read.

I have done the trials now at least 15 times each, in those times:

    Storm/Dark/Power Defender - Semi-Rare 5, Uncommon 6, Common 4

    Illusion/Trick Arrow/Mace Mastery Controller - Semi-Rare 2, Uncommon 8, Common 5

Considering that my Illusion controller does considerably more ST and AOE damage, it still doesn't make sense why my defender is getting more in the way of drops on either trial. Now granted they were a few different teams spread out within a week but still seems off to me.

Rule #3: If you think you can handle it, you're free to go for it.
Rule #4: If you die while following rule #3, don't wait for someone to come save you.

Actually, I am curious to hear the other rules. Mine only really consist of having fun and watch the aggro and keep AFK'ing to a minimum (that last one was added after a couple of unfortunate incidents).
  19. My, my how this sounds familiar, as unfortunate as that is. I haven't played as long as many here and have rarely even ran my own team because I have felt 'veterans' would probably do better in my place, however I have come to some various conclusions as of late.

First, I have found the posturing gets grating after awhile. How many times do people cry for a team yet how long does it take for them to finally start one. Then when the time finally comes, something like this occurs and not only puts you off your game but everyone else's.

Unfortunately, and I do hate to say this but.. Mondo would be correct, at least technically. A teamleader, no matter how idiotic they may be, does reserve that right. It's a bit like watching a costume contest and seeing the one who obviously used the generic button a couple of times and crying "wtf" at the judge. As much as I shudder and wish to go into a rage, the fact is it's the judges call, not mine. Just as in this situation, it is the Team leaders situation, no matter how idiotic he may be.

Now.. saying that, I have been in this situation before. Following an idiot around pretending to be a master of tactics when it's obvious he has little idea of what he is doing is not really beneficial for a team. Normally, when this occurs, I will wait until those in between mission moments to send my regards and leave on my own. Once though, I was almost bated into an argument (several of us on the team were, as I recall) and decided to point blank refuse to step further, I told the team leader that he was behaving like an adolescent and recommended the other members to start another team, under my leadership and mentioned I would await their response. I was kicked from the team at that point but only because I hadn't hit the "quit" button quite as fast. Funnily enough, all but 2 of members of the original team joined me within a few minutes and we were able to finish a complete arc twice as fast.

I suppose the point of this little randomness is that no matter where you go in life, your going to be following an idiot unless you do something about it, right or wrong, doesn't really matter as long as your doing what you truly feel is the right thing to do.
  20. I have to say color me impressed. Love the work and wish I had more toons available that could use the art but only one truly needs all the help he can get.. I give you Sinister Trickster. AKA Mr Trickster, AKA Oh dear god run before he throws a dead rat at.. ARgghh!

  21. Well, just for kicks, I ended up finally hunting down another Paladin and solo'ed it without a temp power and only took 3 small blues. Now that I finally did it, I went for another but all I could find was Jack. (I attempted the Kraken but was "helped" by a small team early in the fight)

As for Jack, for this I ended up using envenomed dagger and it still wasn't enough. At first I thought I wasn't even phasing him but after 5 minutes, his HP bar started slowly lowering. When it got less then a 1/4 way down though, he started recovering almost quicker it seemed.. then after being terrorized twice.. he ended up fully recovered. After 10-15 minutes, it was to a stand still and I left. Maybe after a bit more practice but putting him off for now. I only used 2 breakfrees but maybe next time, I will bring a few more now that I know what to expect.

It appears that Diamagnetic's -Regen is resistible ( unless it was patched) by GMs and AVs so I am not too confident that it can provide enough -Regen for this task. As noted it's quite possible this patch changed that making Diamagnetic a viable option.

Figures. Diamagnetic is what I went with.. I didn't realize the resist on it. I haven't noticed much of a difference anyway to be honest but, figured it was just that small since I only have it at tier 2. I have Vicky but haven't decided if I want Radial or Core yet.

As for Envenomed Dagger.. that never occured to me. I suppose I just didn't want to hear, "Doesn't count if your using temp powers" or something to that effect and wanted to see what would happen if I did a minimum run. Now that I know I can.. I may try a few other things. Thanks for the input, I really appreciate it.
  23. You should be able to use group invis + steamy mist which will pretty much cap your stealth and help your team as well as another spot for LoTG. It's funny, You would think something like steam mist would stack with Sup but I guess since they are both stealth toggles, it becomes moot. I do know Group stacks with Superior.
  24. *tear of joy* as a long time Neo-Victorian/Steampunk enthusiast, this will do wonders for almost all of my characters..I can't wait. I haven't been this excited over steampunk-based graphics since I played Arcanum for the first time..
  25. Well, I think for something like Lusca or Kronos, it would never work. Maybe with the Incarnate powers but as I only have the second tier Pyro and 1st tier Victoria, I am still not sure. Thats why I wanted to start out with one of the smaller ones. Besides, I would like to at least say I was the first Ill/TA to solo one hehe.

At the moment, i have Emp Arrow 4 slotted with Basilisk's Gaze for the recharge but from reading (and re-reading several times) the Enchiridion, I know that it isn't possible to extend out the -regen for it. I did find myself using it about 3 x's which almost made me bottom out but I needed to time PA better.

Not sure why it never occured to me to test on AV's or GM's first in AE. I did attempt Statesman earlier but he was far too easy to be an AV so I need to adjust my settings.
