  1. Hasten's lovely, but by no means necessary.

A couple of my characters love it (Warshade, Huntsman), a few of my characters like it for their long-recharge powers. But I know that most of my characters would have hasten if it wasn't so damned ugly. If I could just turn off the effects, I'd respec half my characters there and then.

I'd agree with this. I get that villain-only content generally gets less playtime than blue or co-op stuff, but it's a noticable gap when levelling a villain. I hope that they go through and bring the signature tast forces up to the current standard, because the Posi revamp is superb. Perhaps they can add in the 30-35 strike force when Manticore gets revamped. I can hope, at least.

On another note, I love that the WST means that tfs like Sissy P's are getting player attention. Feedback for improvement is a plus, and means we may get updates in future. Keep 'em coming.
  3. I'll probably like almost everything we get given, as I'm pretty easy to please. That said, my wishlist is pretty small:
    • Power Pool Customisation
    • Epic/Patron Pool Customisation
    • New Epic Power Pools
    • Powerset Proliferation

My big want is for power customisation to take another step. When i16 was released I didn't think it would be long before we got there, but it does seem to be taking its time. Power Pools and Epic powersets feel overdue to me at this point. I understand it's mostly a UI issue rather than an art one, as most of the powers in them have already been recoloured in primary and secondary sets. I just didn't think it'd take this long. I'd also like EATs to get power customisation, but the dev team and playerbase seem to be on the fence with that one.

With the amount of proliferated sets we've had, I feel the need for more theme-matching epic sets, like an electrical one for scrappers. This isn't really a need, but it would be nice.

Powerset proliferation is something I'm hoping to see more of. Illusion doms is something I've been pawing for, but I'm hoping everyone gets a sweet little something to play with and to spark my altitus up something fierce.

But don't take all that want as an unhappy player who's fed up. Still very much enjoying the game and what we're being given. These would just make me a very happy scrappy.
  4. Although it's already been said, my favourite so far is:

    Quote:
Nemesis Officer: I assure you, my good man, Nemesis is most definitely "down with the street". Word up, my homie, as it were.
A close second, although admittedly not really a phrase, is this conversation between a Freakshow Tank and Sky Raider Captain:

    Quote:
Furious B: Yah, man! Flying Freakshow! Think of the possibilities!
Lt. Krieg: You have GOT to be kidding me!
Furious B: C'mon! Weld a rocket on to me right now!
    Lt. Krieg: ...
    Lt. Krieg: Uh, no.
Captain Castillo's dramatic re-entrance dialogue (I'm really getting further from the point of 'phrases' here) is up there for me as well:

    Quote:
Ah... Hold on, Character! Let us hold on for a moment.

This isn't nearly as exciting as I would have hoped.
You're a good fighter, I have to admit! Not the best, but that's mainly because I'm the best.
Now let's see... what can you and I do to make this more exciting?
    More daring?
    Hrm...
    AHA! I have got it!
Just give me a moment and...
    [GIANT EXPLOSION]

There we go! Explosions! Fire! Always good at making things more dramatic.
Now, I shall make my dramatic re-entrance. If you pardon me, Character.
Talking about phrases that we use as players though, me and a friend have this mantra that "If you're having any problem in-game, it can be solved with more pain corrs". We also like the Arachnos Huntsman and Crab rule of thumb that "you can fix anything with more grenades".

I actually came in to say exactly this.

How to Prepare for Future Content... unless you're Steelclaw.

I think it should be fairly expected that for these kinds of things Vigilantes are Heroes and Rogues are Villains. Contacts, PvP zones, supergroups, bases, and Ouroboros see it this way, so why not now?

Loyalists and Resistance are a different matter, however. While some people are aware that for these things Loyalists are treated as villains and resistance as heroes, they don't have it waved in their face in the above-mentioned cases, so it could be made more clear in-game.

Aha! I've been keeping an eye out for some news on them. I've been waiting for them to go live since the contest ended. Cheers!
  8. At this point, I'd just like to know that further proliferation is planned. I do have my own particular hopes for proliferation, but I'd like some sort of sign that proliferation hasn't been dropped for the next shiny as it seems so many things have been.

    However, speaking more positively:

  10. Yup. The way that I rolled characters and played totally changed around issue ten or so, so my existing characters became worthless to me. An ice/ice blaster and bots/traps mastermind got deleted when this new playstyle came around, a Crab Spider that was meant to be my namesake undercover got deleted when Going Rogue was announced, and an elec/elec scrapper got deleted when she duoed to fifty way too quickly.

Since, I've taken my new style of playing and rerolled my ice/ice blaster (currently 32), my bots/traps mastermind (26), my elec/elec scrapper (35), and have plans to roll another Crab Spider. I am having a blast.

Haven't tested, but I'm guessing that even if you don't get some kind of popup and the RWZ starts loading, you'll probably be booted to Nova before it finishes.
  12. Unless I've missed something really quite obvious, you can't visit the RWZ as a Praetorian. It's the Praetorian zones and Pocket D.
  13. I'm a tad more frustrated now because the support base suggests using the 'ask a question' tab if you have trouble setting up a card that seems it should work.

The issue is when I use this tab, it prompts me to set up a new NCSoft account. I then realise I'm logged out, and log into my account. This boots me back to the NCSoft account management page, and clicking 'Support' logs me out.

    Not happy right now.
  14. I'm trying to sort out a new card now, myself. I haven't tried any of these things like different browsers or deleting current card information yet (frightened that I'll have issues setting that one back up if my new one fails), but it really shouldn't be this difficult to set up a new card.

I'll also agree that just being told that there was an 'error processing transaction' is not helpful. A tiny bit of direction would at least give me some idea what was going wrong.

Edit: Now I've removed my existing card, I'm getting the addition of 'REFUSED' to my error message. I suppose that's a plus.

Edit #2: Now it's 'FRAUD SUSPICION'? I wish it'd make up its mind, let alone actually let me have a new card.

Yeah, this. It doesn't take a rocket surgeon to guess that the Beastly alternative to [Ninja Run] is [Beast Run]. Once that's confirmed with a power link, editing a demo file is easy.

I think this is the case. If I remember correctly, the issue with Pigg Diving isn't that some people get to see things that aren't in the game yet (even though I will agree that mass-hype on unannounced features can get a little tricky), but that people will reverse-engineer the game and make modifications that actually effect gameplay. Or something like that. Sharing information on how to pigg-dive is a serious no-no, though. No question. There just isn't any of that here.

This is what I actually popped in to post. I thought the animation looked a little bit awkward, but then I realised that it was the exact same kind of awkward as if I were to get on all fours and attempt to run. I'm curious if monstrous legs actually look better for this.
  16. I never get around to making a huge amount of progress on DXP weekends, but it gives me a chance to make more progress than I normally would and get to any targets that have been nagging at me. I've underpredicted and overpredicted in the past, and so set myself closer goals and then slightly further goals for if I completed the lesser ones in time.

Elec/Elec Scrapper, 33 -> 35/38 (For ITF access and then all secondary powers)
    Ice/Ice Blaster, 32 -> 35/38 (For much the same)
    Fire/Pain Corruptor 31 -> 35/38 (And again)
Bots/Force Field Mastermind 25 -> 26/32 (For Assault Bot and final upgrade of awesome)
    Ice/Cold Controller 21 -> 22 (I know it's tiny but hey, SOs.)
Elec/Elec Dom, 21 -> 26/32+ (For Synaptic Overload, Pets, and then just for funtimes.)
Warshade 43 -> 50 (Just cause. Less priority than those above.)

I've already reached my lesser goals on quite a few, and am having a blast.

(Oh yes, and I'm aware my powerset matching is unoriginal and boring to most. But it's the way I like to play.)

    This.

I've got a load of local arcs saved with my own characters in them, and the one that entertained me the most was one where I rounded up all of my heroes and beat up my villains. So. Much. Fun.

The only way it could be more fun is if their powers were coloured correctly.
  18. When I opened the thread, it loaded the blue one in your post, and the blue one in your signature, skipping the orange one until it loaded ten seconds later or so.

I got ready to play spot the difference but now I'm disappointed.

Also, being level thirty-five beforehand. For some people, myself included, this takes a long time. The vast majority of my characters are under level thirty, so this pack is going to be welcomed by me.
  20. Love this. Even more so when Paragon Studios paid for the time.
  21. Why does pain domination have to be evil?

"Oh sorry guys, when my genes randomly mutated/when I was in that lab explosion, I didn't gain the ability to heal your wounds. I can just make it easier for you to keep going despite them. So sorry, I'm gonna have to go kidnap people and blow up banks."

    What?
  22. First off, my friendliest of welcomes to Second Measure!

I'm very pleased that communication with the community has been deemed important by the developer team. It's something that I'm sure almost all of us at the boards consider a step in the right direction.

It's all very well moving forward and fighting the competition with new systems and bigger and better things, but is there any word on older topics being brought into the game? Further powerset proliferation? Power pool, epic AT, or epic pool colourisation? Have there been any advances in allowing us power customisation in AE (my personal want)? The same tech copied over to Doppelgangers? These are the sorts of things I hope to be hearing about as a player. The new end-game content and such has made many people very happy, but some of us are hoping for things we got a while ago to be added to and developed.

Again, very happy to hear that communication is important to you as well as us. My thanks for the letter, and I look forward to reading more of them in the future.
  23. On the subject of Nemeses, I don't think they're quite being looked at in the same way I am. I wouldn't really want to come across this Nemesis every few missions, but I'd want them to appear in major points in the story; like alignment-change missions and task forces. Quite a few points in the game the Doppelgangers have been used would have been wonderful chances for a Nemesis to arrive.

Particularly liking the idea of an encounter similar to the Posi TF shadows that appear. A scenario where all of your nemeses have learned of your deeds, and teamed together to try and stop you. Perhaps robbing the bank in that Safeguard mission. Why not waiting in the tree room on the STF?

Or maybe it's StormSurvivor. Especially now he has the option of travel powers as well.
