  1. I'm surprised nobody else has mentioned this, so it may be just a freak anecdote, but....

The one time we left the pylons up and started attacking the hamidon, the attacks were ineffective. It just couldn't be damaged until we took down the pylons.

Also, I'm going to have to agree with the "Pylons keep a taunt on the hami so that he ignores you while attacking his mitos" theory. It does seem like we draw his aggro a lot sooner if we take down the pylons before taking down the mitos.

Again, this is all anecdotal experience.

At this point my conclusion is that the confuse powers Deceive, Confuse, and World of Confusion alone still do not generate aggro. Deceive and Confuse had never done so for me since about June 2004, so that was not a surprise.
I'd like to throw in my two inf of experience...

I've noticed that I've drawn random aggro whilst deceiving the famine rider on the LGTF. As far as I can tell, if I'm at a far enough range, the random bolt of blue sappage will hit me, but just once. If I'm closer, the rest of the mob will lock on and fire. Again, this is random, after about a minute or so of deceiving without detection.

Also note, this is when I'm by myself, with no other team members nearby or drawing aggro. The IO set I use is the purple one, with the proc slotted. In all cases my Superior invis is toggled, and not suppressed by anything else.

I would have, but I only remembered two people from the team. The rest I didn't know, and it would have been rude to mention only two.

I did thank my awesome team though!
  4. You had me until the vBulletins advanced editor

    And thanks!
  5. I'd like to throw in my two inf and say that that run was a lot of fun, and we should do it more often! Maybe every week?
  6. It was remarked to me shortly before we finished, that the MoITF we ran was the probably the first master of the new year. We hadn't set out to run a master, either, which was somewhat amusing. I'd simply thought we stood a good chance, since we had two Forcefielders's.

Also ironically, my computer not only disconnected from the internet (forcing me to restart my router), but my computer crashed (and I had to run to my laptop) during the Rommie fight. Talk about teeth grinding! I was cursing up a storm, hoping the team I was tanking for was OK.

Here's to you guys, thanks for the great tf, and thanks to our awesome community of players!

P.S. This is for notoriety just in case we *are* the first master run!

P.P.S: No, I don't know how to put the picture itself in! Quit mocking me!

I'm generally not one to argue with numbers (though I haven't seen these numbers myself), but my server population (and many others) begs to differ. Since GR, my server has been in the yellow status frequently. Prior to GR, it never got there except on double xp weekends.

Perhaps this is a short term phenomenon, but I'd rather be optimistic. If we keep getting this steady stream of new content, and the new Incarnate stuff doesn't fail to impress, I can see this increased activity going on for a while.
  8. I guess I can add to the topic, too, though...

I've attempted to get co-workers and friends onto this game...but it seems most of them are somewhat MMO illiterate. Which saddens me. I've had an IT worker log in and not able to figure out how to chat until I sent him repeated tells, and even after that it seems it was too much for him, for that was the first and last time he played on the trial. And then there are my cheap friends that decide they can't afford an MMO.

I just don't see how much you can do to get people onto this game. Unless they live under a rock, the ones that would have joined by now have joined and/or left. This type of game attracts a certain kind of person, I think, and most of those are already here.
  9. Titan Sentinel (it isn't working for me, currently, but that may just be me) or if you have a Mids build also works. Or if you have xfire, you can take screenshots of your enhancement screen.

The problem with just taking a screenshot/picture, though, is if you have multiple IOs (that aren't full sets) on multiple powers, you may or may not remember whether that end/recharge went in that power or *that* power.
  10. Am I too late for the wit and levity?
  11. Most hilariously long badge title ever
    Thanks for the run, Carnada!

I believe Golden is referring to the lack of contacts that will have anything to do with you in Paragon (while you're a rogue) and the Isles (when you're a vigilante). Save tip missions and radio/paper missions, most contacts over on the side you're working towards will refuse to have anything to do with you--thus having dedicated contacts/story arcs available for you to do would be a nice break from the mundane.

There's only so many tip missions you can run in one day, after all, and unless you *really* love radios you're essentially forced to stop for the day and move on to another character. Or, of course, move back to your original side (blue/red) and do stuff there (which kind of defeats the whole point of "becoming evil/good" if you go back at the end of the day and save/burn a homeless shelter because you ran out of evil/good tip missions to do).
  13. No, they gotta be stupid if they don't know by now that they're invincible to all damage. Enemies can't kill them, huge drops can't kill them, they can survive virtually any hazardous zone in the game with no ill effects....

...unless you're a protester. (Insert deity here) help you if you protest in Praetoria.

  15. I'll be there on Hypnagogia.

Edit: Make sure you bring a Vanguard HVAS too!

Side note: Correct me if I'm wrong, but the Director isn't the one placing the bombs, it's his invisible/untouchable minions. Holding him will not help at all, in regards to staying safe from the mines. The best chance for success is dropping the nukes on him and our pets and staying in the air, hoping for a quick victory.

Well, don't forget, we plan on attempting a bombing run special edition of RtR around New Years. I would imagine that would respawn the GM.

    Exemping Rules??

What IO's work, what sets you get, do you get the whole % benefit or is that just lvl 50 ones?? Oh and what powers can be used at what lvl ? Do the rules ever waver, like in PvP (SC) or AE building for example...

Thanks for any replies, sorry for being ignorant about this part of the game.
IO's that you've slotted will work down to 3 levels over the current level you're at. So, if you're currently exemped to level 30, you will keep your set bonuses from IOs up to level 33. Past that, you just get the natural enhancement, sans bonuses.

Purple IOs are exempt. You keep their set bonuses no matter what. As to PvP IOs, you'll have to get that answer from someone else.

Powers can be used up to 5 levels past the level you are exemped at, so for example; if you're exemped to 40, you can use the level 41 and 44 powers, but nothing past that.

I'm not sure what you mean about wavering rules in AE/pvp zones.

Edit: The enhancements also scale down effectiveness a bit while you're exemped, for enhancements over your current exemped level.

Sounds fun; I'm up for it if there's still room. Pretty much any time is fine, new Posi is generally under an hour anyways.

*points* I was under the impression that the shield wall defense bonus is pvp only. I may be wrong, as I don't have that set. But yes, I do know that there are two sets of bonuses.

Part of the problem is you logged in pretty late at night. Protector closes it's doors (so to speak) rather early. But that's only a vanishingly small part of your problem. Redside is most definitely a ghost town in Protector since GR hit--most of the villains migrated to blueside (which has always been the more populated side of protector). And then, yes, there is the /hide issue.

Sorry for the miscommunication, I tend to ignore redside as I don't play there myself that often, for that reason exactly.

If you were serious about looking for a team, sure, you can look me up. But if you keep the badge/tf channels open and play on blueside, you really shouldn't have a problem. I had logged in the other evening just to verify something and immediately got hit with a tell asking me to join.

I think the closest you're going to get to what you are looking for is just hitting the total tab. That said, I think I understand what you're talking about now. When seeing the set bonuses, it will only show what's on each individual set, there is no adding algorithm at all. So of course Frankenslotting will show you the individual bonuses, that's what it would do anyways. If you're requesting that to be added to the mids program, you're better off sending an email to titan network or finding one of the players on here that manages mids.

I would rather play in a graveyard than freedumb. I logged into that server for the first time, and what's the first thing I hear on broadcast? Someone with a Dragonball Z name asking for an AE farm, offering money. *shudders*

That said, Protector is no longer a graveyard. Many people, myself included, were simply bored and doing other things while waiting for GR to release. Since then, I'd say the servers are at a high it hasn't seen in years.

EDIT: Which isn't saying that much, actually, heh. Let me rephrase that to say it's hit the yellow status quite regularly since GR release, and still is. I haven't seen the yellow status on Protector before except for double xp weekends.
