    This.

And furthermore, if you can't find a way to explain a facet of your character, you aren't trying hard enough. Just because we have awesome god-like powers does not mean that our characters are now gods. That is not what being an incarnate means.

    RUSH the RIKTI!!

In light of the issues with the rare alpha slot, I wanted to post on here to remind people to be careful if you plan on coming with it slotted today.

(For those that don't know, there is a game crashing bug that seems to affect those who have the level shift active, and have pets that summon pseudo pets. Such as Bots MMs (the seeker drones), or Plant trollers/doms (The carrion creepers), or illusion controllers (Phantasms Decoy), etc)

If you have any builds that revolve around something like the above, or if you just want to be safe, you may want to remove the alpha slot to prevent crashing. Or, do not use the power and you should be fine.

    Hope to see ya'll tonight!

He exclusively uses generic, non-set IOs, so it's not like he "refuses" to touch IOs.
That's splitting hairs, and you know it.

If he has OCD (Or CDO, as you prefer), then my apologies. If that's an excuse, then my statement stands.

But even that's minor compared to the mind-numbing tedium of doing the same task force several times, on one character or with several. And once you've completed it on one character, that character is too powerful to find challenge in any other content in the game -- not that you can play any other high-level content, because most everyone else is grinding away at the WST.

Issue 19 came with new, challenging task forces that reinvigorated the high level game. Issue 19.5 is a step backwards, instructing the playerbase to re-consume old content for even less reward. The WST is a recipe for boredom, and it will only be played for as long as people can stand doing repetitive tasks. Every player will have their limit; I hit mine in one day.
It's new and shiny. Once people get their level shifted characters, it'll be back to norm for most of us (sure, there will be a good number doing the Strike Targets for the bonuses, but even I saw people doing the ITF last night).

Give it time. You're not unique. There are and will be others that get bored of this, just like when the alpha slot was first released. Remember? For a week or two people did nothing but the endgame task-forces for shard drops. By the second week I was forming for posi runs, and soon enough most other players were moving away from (strictly) 50 content too.

Coming from someone that not only hates to team, but refuses to touch IOs (on some kind of principle?), honestly, I find your apparent indignation about not being able to advance your character via the incarnate system humorous. I know this sounds rude and negative (and I'm not trying to be, honestly), but there it is.

And you're not the first person I've seen complain about the STF. I don't get what the problem is--the STF is just the WTF for this week, next week is the ITF. Suddenly the problem is gone. Sure, you may be delayed a week, but them's the breaks if you refuse to play a certain task force.

    Costum Swag

Forget T-shirts, I want this kind of deal with my favorite characters on it. I'd pay quite a bit.
  9. Do you not plan on running focused accuracy and tactics? Even with cardiac, that is very underslotted.

I can't comment on the rest, as I don't have mids on this computer.
  10. A cursory search of "Travel vehicles" gives 2 pages of threads, in the suggestions section alone. So if it appears abrupt of us to "shoot you down," you may want to take a moment and think of where we're coming from. We've seen this exact same idea several times.

There are many reasons why vehicle travel isn't likely to happen, some of which have already been covered by the people before me.

That's hard to answer without looking at your build.

But, if I may assume that you've slotted your toggles for defense only, think on this--if you get a end/resist alpha, your toggles will get the full benefit of the resist enhancement.

HP and defense are the important factors. The more you have, the more damage you can soak up. SL resistance is no big deal, you should have that capped easily just by picking Tough (from fighting pool).

Defense against psi enemies is a goal that not only you shouldn't work towards, but don't bother with at all. If you run into any psi enemies that are giving you trouble, eat a purple inspiration and take them out first. Trying for psi protection just weakens your whole build.

Ah. I imagine Scirion did both of those (the RR and dark obliteration slotting) more for the set bonuses than for actual usefulness. You're more than free to ignore what advice people give to you for your build...but you know, saying things like

is kinda complaining anyways, regardless of how you word it. If you don't like it, don't mention it, or, you can ask why he slotted it that way to understand his mindset behind it.

I look at Siphon Life this way... It's a heal. Just a heal. It just happens to do slightly more damage (completely unslotted for damage, mind you) than your basic DM attack, Shadow Punch (six-slotted with Touch of Death) does. Normally, I three-slot it with Doctored Wounds (Heal, Recharge, and Heal/Recharge), followed by three slots of Touch of the Nictus for Accuracy/Endurance/Recharge, but I couldn't squeeze more slots in, and the set bonuses wouldn't have been all that helpful, either.
Nah, to each their own, I suppose. I look at it the way I look at Gravity Well, and the tier 9 Ice melee pbaoe that has the sleep side effect. They're side effects, and you want to build towards the thing that gives you the most benefit out of it.

Siphon life, for example, has a base heal of 10%. Even if you enhance the heck out of it's heal, you're not going to get more than 15-20%. However, it's damage (IIRC) is superior, so it has quite a bit of slack you can enhance it with. The best case scenario is frankenslotting, unless there are set bonuses you desperately need, or you just can't survive without that extra healing.

Of course, the 2nd TF may have to resort to needling others to help fill out the group, and thus takes a bit longer to form.

The end result, though, is that teams tend to be far more accepting of anyone (with the exception of the Incarnate TFs that require a slotted Alpha boost to be able to actually help the team). I've never seen anyone who was eligible to take part in a TF be turned away because they didnt have their alpha slot, even when attempting Master runs, and I would be shocked to see it happening in the future.
    This.

I'm also a protector player, and I just can't imagine people turning people away for something as silly as not being level shifted. We invite people all the time that have just dinged 35 to the ITF, and that's essentially the same thing, if not worse (what with having less powers/slotting and all).

I mean, if we can run content now (such as Apex and Tin Mage, let alone normal pre I-19 tf's) on unoptimized teams with no issues, why would the sudden addition of a level shift as a mechanic change anything?

A thought occurs to me: if it's just the issue of blasters being too squishy, how about a Corrupter? You could pick up AR again (if that's what you wanted to do), but go for /traps or /FF as a secondary to make you much more survivable.
  21. Keep in mind guys, that Sam doesn't use IOs. His characters are SO only (IIRC). So, with that in mind, you're probably best off going as a brute/scrapper with KM or SS as your attack set, and invuln as your defense set. You could even go for super reflexes, saying that your suit gives you preternatural reflexes.

There's some slotting concerns there (you can now slot more +def or +res sets in the two powers). On the flip side if you wanted both you'd have to spend extra slots. I don't see that being a total showstopper. They'd have to make sure they two buffs (ST/AoE) didn't stack from the same caster, but that shouldn't be *that* hard. If it happens to clear up how buffs do and don't stack (the double-stack zoning, the don't-vengeance-till-the-last-is-down-or-it-is-wasted) to something a bit more consistent... that'd also be a nice QoL improvement.
I wouldn't mind this. I don't really see it happening, but at least its a solution that let's people keep the one that works better for them.
  23. Well, now that we've had fun mulling over the ramifications of the level shift as it applies to the rewards table, I have a new one for ya'll to think over.

What do you think the level shift will mean for pets? If this is a player buff (or whatever you want to call it) that isn't technically raising our level...does that mean our pets (whose level is dependent on ours) will be left high and dry?
  24. I don't have mids on this computer, but....

I would pull the performance shifter proc and the miracle: recovery off of your build. You have Dark Consumption, you shouldn't be having any endurance issues. That saves you two slots to put on taunt, or any other powers that need it.

Since I can't see your defense bonuses...are you softcapped to SLENFC? If so, I'd drop unstoppable too.

I'd put a set with a higher recharging value in Soul Drain (Like obliteration), or frankenslot it if need be.
