*shrug* Maybe you've found this to work for you, but I haven't. The enemies are too spaced out, and the radius of burn too small. Doing it at the choke point gets me a net of roughly 3 enemies hit with the main impact of burn.
Done at the door, I can hit the whole spawn with them. -
Quote:Heh, my Burn recharges in five seconds.
There is a door at the south choke point. if you want to run over there when burn is up, I have no problems with that. My Fire Blaster often drops rain of fire on that door.
But yeah, I'm bringing my ill/rad--I have the MoBAF on the fire tank already. -
Two things:
1. I could use this for my ill/rad, so I'm definitely up for it. And I shouldn't have any overtime this weekend!
Quote:2. (This part doesn't really affect me, but I thought I'd bring it up anyway)This is one that really gets to me, so let me be clear: If you are fighting prisoners at doors, you will be kicked. If you are unfamiliar with how this works, I drew you a picture.
What about fire tanks? Hear me out, now--it really annoys me when people want my fire tank to sit in the middle of a pathway. Burn, the main damage dealer (mob killer) is grossly ineffective when the mobs can run right through it. However, you set that up at a door, maybe 1-2 of the enemies will manage to escape the doorway of death. Not playing to your strength reduces effectiveness by quite a bit.
For the rest of your AT's, however, I totally agree with you. No one else really has the same problem, as other location AoE's generally have some form of -speed or mezz. -

Quote:I just find it odd, since the level of detail in these new dolls is starting to be anything but minimal. They're adorable, but they're no longer rag dolls, really. I'm just curious if it's accessibility, speed, price, or something else that's made this explode. I frankly love OC dolls as there's nothing like having your characters become real in a sense.
I won't post where I got these from, simply to keep this thread belonging to Layla. But I am extremely curious now if it's the button eyes that's the key, because it's the only thing that's particularly different now. I figure from an expression perspective, the button eyes actually reduce the emotive ability of the artist. Perhaps that's a good thing?
Hmmm...I know what you're saying....I guess I don't know. It's hard to put into words, if you know what I mean. Perhaps it's the variety of materials she uses, along with the innocent quality of them? The colors?
They remind me of classic rag dolls, but...they have a personal effect on me, since they represent my characters. I dunno, like I said, it's hard to describe. Edit to add: I don't think it's just the button eyes that make it different, though.
Anyway, that aside, I look forward to seeing her develop her technique even more. She experiments with each new doll, and she's come so far in only a couple months. -
Quote:I can't really put it better than airhead. She's just got a unique way of making these guys, they come out looking...well, awesome, really. This last one was a doll version of one of my uglier costumes on a main character. I don't know how/why, but suddenly I love the costume.I'm curious if it's price point that made this round of plush dolls popular with the art forum crowd. A few of us have ventured into this realm before but nothing came of it like this.
And no, it's not just because of the glowing eyes! -
She won't give this to me!

Quote:Sure it would. I can think of a certain religion in which angels rebel and, well, I'm sure you could figure out what I'm talking about. There exists a phrase "Fallen Angel" for a reason.
Another reason for this would be to have an Angel summoning power (pointed out in another thread). I'm sure everyone could see how cool that would be. I suppose it wouldn't be necessary to have a Hero MM to have that particular power, but it sorta wouldn't make sense as a Villain power.
Quote:So, what other Hero MM powers would be cool? Robots, Ninjas, and Soldiers could stay, but Villains could keep Demons, Thugs, and Zombies... I'd say those aren't really suitable for Heroes. -

Oooh Layla mentioned me!
Yeah, I never once visited the forums until....*looks at forum join date* about 5 years after I started playing? I don't even know why I started coming to the boards. Frankly, I think it was because I could get away with reading it while at work, and I was curious about the upcoming issue.
In other words, if I had a different job, I'd still be a person that never went to the forums. -
Quote:Ha, you beat me to it, thanks ArchivisteHow about an yarn doll version of your favorite CoX character ?
There's also a thread on the fan creations forum, if you're interested Gadfly. They're quite neat -
Quote:Never turning down a chance to win a Layla doll...there's a few other members of my SG I'd like to gift them to.
And no, it's not because I don't love the dolls-I want to have a hundred and forty!-but because I already have one so I'm giving some other people the chance to have their very own first, particularly people I know will never get them for themselves. They do make lovely gifts!Quote:very true. as much as I want another ... theres 4 or 5 people that I'd really like to have one of theirs. A whole MG of Layladolls = epic
In other news: Oh dear, the event has just blown up into a full scale LAYLA PALOOZA! More details to come Soon. Probably in a different thread, because this thing is gonna be too big for this one. -
Now that the Day of Vigilance is concluded (and what little I was able to participate in was lots of fun!), I'd like to remind and re-tease all of my readers out there about a special event coming up. You remember, the one with layla kissy's to be had by all?
Anyhow, since she's told some people here and there already, I'm going to tease you a bit myself; It's another costume contest. A themed one. Coming to you soon! She needs to clear some people off of her list first though.
Be excited people, there is a special prize for the winner! And....perhaps....if we get enough people....there may be more than one special prize winner? Who knows! -
I agree with what everyone else is saying; let that defeat roll off of your shoulders. These things happen.
Also, let me add this--one person doesn't make or break a team. So it's not your fault, it's not any one persons fault. Just bad luck and, perhaps, not enough damage/debuffs. (Both of which can be, to an extent, worked around). -
Quote:Simple example I always use. Grenade instead of Trip Mine from Device / Traps set. Maybe less damage but quicker recharge.
Or for Time bomb the ability to click on it to make it go off when you want instead of hoping you get enough mobs on it or requiring the ability to stealth bomb.Quote:
Suppose there were a full powerset available with Paragon Points called "Crispy Fire Blasting", as a Blaster Primary, that, on the whole, as a powerset, is equivalent to the 'free' Fire Blast (and thereby, implicitly, most / all other Blaster sets, give-or-take). Crispy Fire Blasting does, maybe, more X, but then, it does less Y
The OP isn't talking about modifying certain properties of attacks (More X, Less Y), as much as he's talking about entirely replacing certain powers with ones that function completely differently. Maybe this was a poor example of his, maybe not--but he replaced a couple of the worst attacks in /devices with a targeted AoE, and a modification to how the power worked (To which I reply: SCR).
To the OP that has so far failed to come back and defend his suggestion's merits: /Unsigned. It simply isn't fair to make people pay to replace the powers that they don't like just to get more functional ones.
Also, that chart is hilarious, Forbin. -

More power customization surgery by Dr. Aeon. Apparently, your character goes through hell behind the scenes when you decide to "upgrade." Jonathan Smythe is one evil dude.

Red Guy: "Ooooh shiney..."
Dr. Aeon: "You may feel a slight pinch..."
Dragon Punch Mk2: *RIP RIP TEAR* "OMG THE PAIN I DON'T EVEN WHY!!!!!!"
Haha. Um. So yeah, if anyone is interested in a glowing eye doll, please send me a PM. These are custom jobs, so if you, say, want the eyes to glow only so long as you're squeezing it, for example, that is entirely doable. Just hit me up with any questions. -
Just an update on the glowing eyes project: When it's all done, the doll with the circuit chip doodad in it will have glowing eyes for around 10-15 seconds after being squeezed. This is very, very awesome.
And here you have some surgery being performed by our very own Dr. Aeon:
