*wipes tear from eye* That's hilarious dude. But you know...if you built your character, y'know, better--you wouldn't faceplant so much. But more power to you for thinking you're better than the rest of us and building your character your own way.
  2. Tonight we ran the Lady Grey TF with 7 Warshades and 1 Peacebringer! We of course mocked the Peacebringer relentlessly. It was good fun.

Afterwards, we held a Kheldian themed costume contest, since this was a special edition of Kheldian Fridays! for Laylapalooza. @Zaloopa won with his Void Hunter costume (and it made me want to smack him with Gravity Well!), and Sha'Kira (@Issy Phrost) got honorable mention.

  3. Well, our first night went pretty well, I think! We had two full Katie Hannon teams, and only ran into a spot of trouble during the AV section for one team. We then went GM hunting (though my team could only get Jacks badge, as Jack had punched pumpkinhead one to many times

Then, my team went and ran a special edition of Kheldian Fridays! This time, it was 7 warshades and one lonely peacebringer. We teased him a lot.

Meanwhile, Layla's team went ahead and ran the Moonfire, and it went smoothly. By the time we were done with our Kheldian costume contest, we were both ready to go hunting for the Volcanic badge. It took several trips through Ouroborous, but we all nabbed ourselves a shiny new Volcanic badge.

Before getting tier 4 for auction house, and tier 7 for inventions, the best you can do is buy the limited time access to them.

When Freedom hits - just how limited is stuff going to be? I've looked at the side-by-side comparison here - http://na.cityofheroes.com/en/news/f...cho.php#tabs-4 - but it's kind of vague.

Auction House is limited. Does that mean a certain number of transactions per day/week/month?

Mission Architect is limited. Can I play those missions, but not create new ones?

Inventions are limited. Do I get the basic types, but not the set ones?

Or is all of that shut off until stuff is unlocked somehow?

and while I can understand losing the global channels, being shut out of both Help and Broadcast seems kind of overkill.
    Or in other words:

No auction house for new free accounts.

No AE for new free accounts.

Small sized inventories, only small inspirations and no recipes/IOs at all.

You can buy 30 day access to these things via paragon points.

I think they get access to help channel, but *shrug* I kinda agree but there you have it.

Also, if you log in with your old account, chances are you'll have some vet rewards that will knock you into a higher tier and maybe you won't have to deal with some of this stuff.
  10. You'll want to look at the dev chat highlights for more details, but perhaps this will answer some questions.

Limited costume slots, but unlimited preview. Still customizable.

    2 Global character slot tokens.

Cannot join SG's at the base tier.

    Can't use IO's. Can still use TO/DO/SO and Hami-O's.

    Limited chat channels.

Largely done to nip the RMTers in the bud.

"If you look at any games that have relaxed chat privalages, it is immediate and terrifying."

No Mission Architect access. Since itÂ’s a bit more of a drain on server resources.

Limited item drops, only small inspirations. No salvage. Cannot craft. No recipes. Cannot trade. Influence cap of 25 million INF.

I was wondering the first day of beta why I went from 1-15 without a drop.

No hero of villain merits. No auction house.

    Limited enhancement inventory space.

    Obviously no Incarnate access.

This is for a Free player. Someone who has never subscribed or bought paragon points.

They will get access to the LFG tool, the help channel, local chat, and be able to queue up for the Sewer Trail.

Returning players will have 1 reward token per badge you've earned, 1 reward token per year's subscription, and 1 token if you've ever used a code from a physical box. 1 total, not one per boxed set.

1 token per month and one token per 1200 PP bought.

Posi: "I had a friend of mine actually calculate how much he has to pay to get Tier 9 on day 1. He was excited about it."

This is going into the Premium tier rewards, since most VIP's have this baked in.

Going over a lot of things that VIP's get that Premiums have to pay for or have to unlock via tiers.

Zwill apologizes if this week's coffee talk is a bit try. Posi recommends the chat give tangent ideas.

Tier 2. You earn the Trustworthy badge. 3 months currently or 1 month once Freedom is out.

Can join SG's and SG Chat.

    Private Tells.

    Trading.

    INF cap to 500 million

    Additional inventory size.

    +2 Salvage, +1 Vault

    In game e-mail.

Mission Architect system, but you can't get tickets. Just to play content.

Reminder that this is for Premium players, non-VIP, non subscribers.

    Tier 3

    Loyal Badge

All chat channels. (Broadcast, Global, Etc)

Chat tangent: Bacon. Makes Zwill want Bacon.

Posi: "Bacon nearly killed my father in law."

Zwill: "Bacon has nearly killed generations of people."

    1 Billion INF cap.

    Increased inventory again.

    Tier 4

    Steadfast Badge

Can earn Vanguard Mertis and Reward Mertis

    Inventory space goes up again

INF cap at 2 billion (the max)

    Medium inspirations.

    Lifetime Auction house license.

MA with tickets and XP and such.

    Tier 5

    Addicted Badge, 36 months

    Permanent Mastermind and Controller access

    Inventory size increases.

A thank you for sticking through.

If you previously bought access to them, you DO NOT get a refund.

    Tier 6

    Abiding, 57 months

    Access to create MA stories.

Reminder that they will be selling limitless MA story slots.

Posi: "There is probably a server limit somewhere. But if someone hits it, we'll increase it."

    Tier 7

    Purposeful badge, 78 months

Tangent: Posi is astonishes that Zwill has to schedule his lunches and thus is a huge *********.

Zwill and Posi want the veteran token bar to change colors.

    Lifetime IO Access

Piyerus: "I'm still a bit confused. Do we need the first badge in the tier to be in that tier, or do we need to totally fill the tier (get the final badge) to be in that tier?"

You do not make the selections in the tier. You just need to earn the amount of tokens for the badge.

Another reminder that the access mentioned here is Non-VIP players and that these are the AUTOMATIC rewards. Not stuff you have to pick and choose.

    More inventory space.

    Tier 8

    Radiant badge

Zwill: "Not recommended to buy your way here at once."

They have measures in place to prevent single purchases of PP this high.

Large insps get added onto the drop table.

    More inventory space.

VIP subscribers get +150 PP per month. Just under an extra $2 of PP per month.

    Tier 9

Tier 8 is what they have the +150 PP listed in the document from Clockwork 01.

    Incarnate system and powers.

Anything labeled VIP only, like time manipulation unless they buy it in the store.

    Lose the VIP server.

Not going to get the PP stipend or the monthly transfer tokens.

You'll lose the 12 per server base slots.

You keep any banked transfer tokens. They do stack.

You will keep all Paragon Points earned from the monthly VIP stipend.

Show us your build? I run a LOT of toggles on my WP toons, and I never run out of endurance. Oh, I definitely agree with what Gaia said--If you're running out of endurance, you can't attack as much. That is obviously detrimental to your DPS. You might even detoggle. And that is poor for your health.

Also, in addition to all these excellent suggestions for fixing your build, lets not forget the obvious solution--Cardiac alpha and Ageless destiny.

  14. I was under the impression that the Kheldians versions of phase did both, anyway? You had like 30 seconds of phase with a gradually increasing end burn. I could be wrong, I never take them.

I would prefer they just take off the nophase, and made the recharge longer to compensate. That way, if you built for recharge you could use it more often, but it's base would be about what we have now.

I enjoy the game much, but perhaps it's just changed for me over the course of time. I have done the journey, and know the results of the destination. But by using the logic of not doing something I don't like would suggest that Im not enjoying the game.

What I am not enjoying about the game now, is playing alts without power, and then switching to toons with so much power. And so the dilema is that the journey from point a to point b, has changed for me. (This has never been the case ever with me...I have never been that kind of gamer ever!!)

Im trying to get my mojo or excitement back about trying new things.

It's like if they do not meet the expectations of the toons I have already made and made even better through the crafting system or incarnates just meet a deleted doom. It's like at level 30 I can tell if this is going to be a solid toon, and if it cannot destroy things like my level 50's, then I just lose interest.

    ...

Heck, I have even switched to a red side toon for the sole purpose of needing to try new content instead of just becoming level hungry to race to the finish and get IO'ed and incarnated. This helped a little, because I had the option of playing some fun redside arcs, but in the end it really did not satisfy me as there were hardly any teaming options, and moreso nothing I can make now, really can ever top the two incarnates I made and I lose interest in the possibility of what they can be.

Im just finding myself logging in, looking at my toon selection, seeing my play toys...then hitting the log out button. I really don't like that feeling, but it is how it's been now for a while.

    ...

They were always enjoyable before they were anything like they are now, and sadly, now that they are so epicly powerfull, they lost some of their charm. The personal touch that I had given them because A) the story changed to incorperate why they went to gain such power, which pigeon holes you into that story to begin with, and B) because they now are to shiney to even touch?

50 woes as I call them is happening with almost all of my alts now. Mainly because the process of making them perform later is daunting and sort of blah to me. I enjoyed it with two of my toons, but now even IOing is seeming a task/chore.

My Death Knell has become exactly what I have never been. It's become a powers game even to me. Which is so strange because I generally prefered playing support sets considdered to most as being underpowered. It's throwing me for a loop, because my dilema is that I don't want to play my epic folks unless Im making inf, and I don't want to play my lower alts because I have been spoiled by the former.

It's...just strange for me, because the only other game I have ever played that had done that to me is AoC, and although I could never ever be truly epic, if I found a really neato-rific flashy dagger...I felt a sense of accomplishment. But completeing a trial, getting a Judgement slot, or a lore pet, does not feel like an acomplishment, just something I can unlock over time through a grind fest, but is almost always going to happen for any toon that I ever choose to make.
I don't see why each of your characters have to become an incarnate. It SOUNDS like the grinding is getting to you, and for some reason the characters that aren't uber godly yet are no longer worth playing. Which is why I recommend taking a break (or at least cutting back) on trials for a while. Learn to like your characters for what they do, not what they could become. Make interesting concept characters. Set restrictions for yourself. Join a superteam and make new friends.

I don't think the game has changed. Sure, we've gotten some endgame, but what was there before is still there. You can choose to ignore the incarnate system, and nothing bad will happen to you as a result. I think it's your perception of the game that has changed, and you got caught up in the rush for "Moar power!" that many of us have fallen for. So please, do yourself a favor and sit down and think about it, at least. Maybe I'm wrong, I definitely could be--but it couldn't hurt to take a look at whats changed for you, and what has caused you to start feeling this way.

I am also curious as to the attack chain/build. I have a hard time believing human form puts out better damage than the dwarf in a tri-formers build without gimping the dwarfs attacks (or other aspects of the build) in some way.

    50's Woes!

Simple solution to your woes: Quit doing stuff you don't like. Voila. Honestly, no one is forcing you to run incarnate trials or IO out your characters to squeeze performance out of them. YOU are doing that to yourself. And if you don't find it enjoyable, don't come and complain to us about it. Just stop doing it.

Tangent: How is a Grav/Forcefield controller a walking credit card for the rest of your characters? No, you don't really have to answer this, but I find it interesting.

Anyhow, find whatever it is you like about those two characters, and find it in another combo. Or try the suggestions Winterminal gave.

I can't understand why you would want to be in human form (while on a tri-forming WS) for any length of time against a hard target. It just doesn't have enough ST damage as the dwarf could put out, and even assuming you took Essence Drain...the dwarf has better survivability.
