The rest would be gravy, but the above is the only thing that really needs looking at. Either have the damage cut, or increase the time in between pulses.

Quote:Yeah, EB's aren't so fun.
try playing a shade solo against a eb.. not so fun.. pb solo against a eb = possibility your going to finish the mission solo..
Quote:Lev 50 AIB vs. Lev 49 Chimera (AV).
No Incarnate Powers. Not Pets (except Extracted Essences). Used tier 3 inspirations as you can see.
This is how we used to have to take down AVs.
I really don't consider this that great of an accomplishment.
But if you take the time to read through the recent post and discussion I had with Auroxis and Microcosm you can see why I decided to do this.

That's a lot of "if's."

Quote:I was wondering if anyone read these anymore, heh. Layla has been amusing herself with little story arcs for her new dolls, it's fun to see what she comes up with.Just wanted to post since no one has commented in a little while. I love seeing these, and I especially love seeing the great poses. Keep 'em coming.

Quote:Do a non master run with a bunch of radiation debuffers and shades so they can blast the corpses of their teammatesYeah, everyone's scores are below:
@Dark Chaos - 395
@Omega 3 - 215
@Mave - 135
@Gordon Gorilla - 140
@Demon Shell - 180
@Burning Verto - 215
I think I at least learned a lot for the next time I do one of these. I need to think up a way for the contestants to somehow backstab each other, like true villains, without having a negative impact on the strike force run.
Or....a bunch of stalkers and/or crazy melee'ers to rush in and steal eachothers kills. And give points for each boss kill steal. Or something. -
I could see this being used as a free phase shift power choice, except without the drawbacks of phase the game now has. It would be used to ghost missions and such, no doubt.

Quote:How about a compromise, then? The objectives reveal themselves on the map AS you get to them. That way you can't accidently pass them by. It would make more sense that way, too--It's plausible that your character would have seen it as you went by, thus you know where it is (as opposed to somehow automagically knowing where it was the second you step inside the mission).Like you say, it's a problem that already exists anyways. If you are not the type who wants to run missions as efficiently as possible, just make that clear when you start up your team/TF. As you know, I often do not like speeding through TF's and I make it pretty clear when that's how I feel.
Granting people the option to see objectives at all times, like people have suggested here, shouldn't interfere with how you or anyone else plays the game.
I enjoy beating the crap out of everything I see on the ITF as much as the next guy or gal, but what I don't enjoy is when I'm soloing a mission and I spend 10 extra minutes roaming around the map because A.) I can't find a glowie, B.) I can't find a Destructible Object, C.) The objective is "defeat boss," which I did already, but one of the bosses minions ran off and I can't find him.... Countless other examples exist. -
Quote:I do, yep. But I don't think they were up for those videos. I did see her use pulsar a few times (which probably led to her death in part 1, unfortunately) though, so that may have been it.The white was probably your lore pets.
You use the storm elementals right?
I also noticed at around 1:00 in part 2 you can see her blasting from a connecting tunnel, then hopping to the other side of the mob. -
Quote:Yes, but that will be cause they choose to ghost it, not because the Dev's shoved the options in their face and have their teammates point out that it'd be stupid/inefficient not to.People are going to ghost their missions anyways, there's no right our wrong way to play the game. While other people are going to continue to enjoy the hunt and seek aspect (as has been shown here) and continue to play the game that way.
Don't get me wrong, I hate kill all's, quite a bit. But I wouldn't look forward to the day when, on a PUG, I'm trying to kill some baddies while on a mission and have the leader go "WTF you doing? The (glowie/hostage/boss) isn't that way." And that WOULD happen. People already exist that object to venturing into a room on the second mission of the ITF that doesn't have a Cyst in it. -
Quote:Nah. I looked over the video again, and it's part 1 (taken a few minutes before it) and the PB was off on the fringe (mostly).Nothing really, I just saw some white flashes every now and again in the video. Assumed the peacebringer was in there somewhere.

Oh, and one more thing...
I'd like to again thank @Bellpei, @AIB, and @Septipheran for donating to the event. It was very much appreciated! Also, special thanks to @Zaloopa for his special SFS run/costume contest, @Stalemate for his promoting help, and @Drake Crator for helping us host this. And of course, thanks to the rest of you for showing up to our events.
If anyone is interested in helping us plan for and host the next one, please PM me. Thanks! -
Quote:To even make it as an option to turn off/on at will, I feel that this would be basically poking players in the face and telling them to just ghost their missions. Sure, most players know the maps by now anyways, but that's through experience, and not the game telling you "Don't bother killing those guys, they don't matter."
Long story short: Make all Objects, NPC's, and mission goals viewable on the map at all times. It's not "challenging" to have to waste way too much time scurrying all around looking for things. It's just tedious and annoying.
The Dev's randomized placement for glowies/hostages for a reason, after all. -

And the last day of Laylapalooza draws to a close! But first, a recap of today:
We began at noon with...ummm...*looks over notes of what we did* Oh right! We did an all scrapper Sister Psyche TFWe managed to fill with 7 scrappers, and took a Stalker as well along with us. (Don't worry, we kept an eye on her!)
Afterwards, we attempted to run an all defender Synapse TF, but then I realized that we were going to be doing the longest Freedom Phalanx TF with nothing but lowbie defenders. Sooo...long story short, we switched out to a Posi part 2. I think everyone was happy with that decision, haha.
Afterwards, we had a bit of dejavu as we brought our blasters to the Positron TF--but this time, we did both parts. We also managed to find enough people for two teams.
Finally, we wrapped up the whole event with our beach soccer event, wherein we kicked around Jack in Irons for a while, before putting him out of his misery. Unfortunately we couldn't seem to break his knockback protection, but we did knock him on his keester quite a few times.
After his death, we hosted a quick costume contest for the best beach outfit. We had originally planned on only one winner, but the ideas we saw were so interesting that we had to award a 2nd and 3rd place prize as well.
1st place (a Layla doll) went to Gummi (@Spoke) for her excellent take on a bikini outfit (which I unfortunately didn't get a close up picture of) seen here.
2nd place (200 million influence) went to Thuggy the clown (@Verbrand) for his funny one piece swimsuit. Way to keep stylin', Thuggy!
And 3rd place (100 million influence) went to Monk Brawlin (@Dark Chaos) for his unique take on male swim trunks and his "I'm heading to the beach" smile. /e thumbsupdude
And so the event ended. Layla and I had a fun time, and we hope you did too. We already have new ideas for the next one, too! (Though we will be bringing in more help for that one.)
To paraphrase a dude on TV.....
Stone Daemon, out!

Quote:Fodder is good. Elite bosses are not fodder, as they can hurt and kill us and our allies easier. And this isn't the place to discuss this. >_>I have to continue to disagree with you here. What you've said is nothing but a direct illustration as to why our fellow Warshades should not have been dropping like flies. The area was littered with buff food- DPS was not an issue. It has been clearly stated//proven in the Kheldian community that A Single Warshade has the dps to take down an AV.
Rommy is no exception-- I can admit that my build does not have an optimal single target attack chain, but it is still at a point where I feel that the addition of three equally matched Warshades alone should have no trouble taking down an ITF.
The Peacebringers should be viewed as "nice extra damage" while they were alive, but the Warshades alone had the potential to tackle the TF. The problem was that members of our TF were severely underutilizing their characters... This is why I posted some guides in the Kheldian Fridays thread, in an attempt to avoid something like this happening in the future. -
Quote:Can your peacebringer do this?I feel peacebringers are a bit more survivable on their own thou than warshades. As a peacebringer u have 3 heals that u can use just from ur primary and secondary counting the one in [White Dwarf] and that helps me fighting tougher single NPCs. Where the warshade needs a couple to a few dead or alive NPCs to surpass the peacebringer in survivability. Kinda like the peacebringer has a bit of Regen feel. I play a peacebringer pretty much exclusively so I am biased. Also not much has changed in those guides.
-
I'd like to echo everything Justaris said. Voids are more of an interesting feature to Kheldians than a threat now days, and I have seen (and done) amazing things with warshades (and to a lesser extent peacebringers). Perhaps you just need to try a new build or something?

Quote:Nicely done!This is about the only thing I have a screenshot of that is descent enough to brag about(although it doesnt show much). It was my first Statesman Task Force back in JAN10 and the tank crashed or DCed or something and left me as the only tank-like person. I jumped in Dwarf and tanked the first 3 then Ghost Widow. And it was a successful Master of run on my first time. Not that big of a deal maybe but I was proud. Memory is a bit hazy with the details thou, but the tank may have came back for Recluse.
EDIT: It was an in between costumes non-cape version of Hero Alpha's costume too, forget that part hehe.
Did you tank in human form, or Dwarf, or...?

Another fun day folks! A bit easier this time around, in my opinion, but that may be due to the lack of stressful master runs
We started the day with the SG/VG base contest, and we had 5 hero entries, and 1 villain entries. They were all unique in their own ways, and personally I would have loved to see them all win. However, Layla compromised and instead gave two supergroups the reward! The winners were @Mave's "Shining Brigade" and @Mr Grey's "Grey's Army!" Some pictures for your viewing pleasure!
@Mave's Shining Brigade: Bowling Alley, Movie theater, and Prison!
Bi-Polar Bear's D I S A V O W E D: Reading room and prison.
@Mr Grey's Grey's Army: Boxing Ring, Firing Range, and private rooms.
The Intrepid Allegiance: Tech room and meeting room.
Paragon's Punishers: (The vast amount of their base was a giant maze, so the only picture I could smuggle out was of this neato swimming pool)
@Zaloopa's Singularity: Sneaky hidden Man-cave and a dark church.
After all that was over, we managed to fill up for a Cathedral of Pain run, and successful it was! We had a little bit of difficulty with Big Red's regen, but we pulled through and everyone got their badges. Great job folks!
Afterwards, since we had a bit of time until the next event, we decided to spontaneously run a Lambda trial! Someone on my team unlocked destiny, and we all had a great time.(Picture above was taken during the trial, since I forgot to take the screenshot during the CoP. Oops!)
Next up was the all controller Manticore TF! I have never seen enemies melt that fast before, honestly. It was tons of fun
Afterwards, we again had a bit of time until the next event, so I figured we should go ahead and round off our day with another trial--this time a BAF! I had assumed I could grab two teams and do a small one, but BAM we had a third team from outta left field. But you know what? We wrecked that trial GOOD.
Afterwards, we began the all Kheld ITF. It unfortunately didn't end well, and we stalled out on the final Romulous battle due to lack of DPS (our squishier allies kept getting under fire and the healing nictus made sure the EB's and bosses in the surrounding mob stayed alive to give us a hard time.
Next up was the all tank Bastion--er, um, Citadel TF! But first--Layla decided to hold an impomptou tanker costume contest. We had several entries, and two winners. First place (A Layla doll) went to @Max Davonyx, who won with their heroine tank costume, and second place (100 million influence) went to @Exercitus for his futuristic tech tank costume. Afterwards, we managed to get two tank teams for Citadel (the second team had two brutes!) I brought my fire tank and was a heat seeking missle of destruction for team 1. Boom goes the Vandal.
Shortly after we started, @Zaloopa began his special edition of Strike Force Sunday! They ran the MoBarracuda (and were unfortunately unsuccessful due to a cheating haxx0r Reichsman) and had a villainous costume contest afterwards.
And finally, we wrapped up our evening with a fire, ice, and storm version of the Numina Task Force! At one point we literally froze Jurassik while he was on fire, and blasted him with a thunderbolt. It was epic.
Tomorrow is the last day of Laylapalooza! I hope to see you all there, and hope you're all having as great a time as I am. -

I'm so tired, today was a long day
We started with some hide and seeks! @Exercitus found Layla, but no one looked for meI was hiding in plain sight at the entrance of Eden, too.
Then we ran a MoKahn, and it was successful!
Afterwards some more hide and seeks! I hid in Atlas, and again nobody found me. Frustrating. @Alber found Layla.
We then ran a MoLGTF! We had to split up our teams because so many people wanted to join, and unfortunately both teams failed. We all had a great time though, I think!
Afterwards, yet another hide and seek. I changed tactics this time, offering a special bounty for the person that managed to find both of us. Sure enough, @Metalicon hunted both myself and Layla down, and earned double the reward. This plan worked!Next up, was the MoITF. We had THREE teams worth of people show up! I divided us up and hoped for the best...my team unfortunately had a death RIGHT before the taskforce was over. Like literally 1 more Rommie death to go.
Layla's team was much more fortunate, and they scored the Master badge. The third team broke off from our league, and I don't know what happened to them. I can only assume they had an unfortunate early death.
Next up, yet again more hide and seek! Now that I knew what the people wanted, I hid in Brickstown with Layla, with a smile on my face. Come get your double reward folks! @Alber managed to find layla relatively quickly, but it took several minutes for her to track me down. However, when she did, 2 other people also homed in on me. I was impressed that so many people found me, and happy my new plan was working, so for this round everyone was a winner!
Next up was the Master of Apex. At first I thought we would only have one team, but then BAM we had two. Our team was sucessful despite a severe lack of buffs/debuffs of any kind
Afterwards was one last hide and seek. @Alber was out to get us, with a vengeance! She caught both me and Layla yet again, this time in Talos. I swear she has hax or some kind of lowjack she planted in our clothing. So, double reward for Alber, again!
Finally, the cornerstone of the event, the Layla & Stone costume contest! We unfortunately didn't have too many people show up, but the ones that did had very nice costumes!
Here were the Laylas! And the Stone! And the funny costume category!
Sassy Fine Lay Time won first place with her eldritch looking Layla costume, Irene Innomia (@Alber) won second place with her "Heroic Layla" costume, and Magma Imp won third for nailing a classic layla costume.
For the Stone category, @DJKyo won hands down as the only entry (but what a good entry it was!). I awarded her the prizes for first, second, and third places
And for the "Make Layla Laugh" category, the winner could only go to @Zit Poppin' Pete for his "Stone Rei" costume, which is apparently the love child of Layla and I.
Afterwards, Layla and I were starting to get exhausted from the long day (and to this point I still haven't eaten anything since breakfast!), so upon seeing no one else at the ship in IP, we promptly formed a team with the people who followed us from the CC and off we went! Due to an unfortunate bug (and relaxed tensions) Dr. Aeon surprised us with invulnerability and crushed some of the squishier people on our team. No master badge for us.
We still had a good time though
@Drake Crator started a second team after hearing that we'd already started, however, and decided he wasn't going to let us win. And sure enough, he pulled through with the master badge for his team. Good job guys!
And now, I am exhausted. I'll see you folks tomorrow for another installment of Laylapalooza! -
We will broadcast where it is when it's time.
