Quote:Or to make it easier for you, here. You should search the forums for references to the Iron Eagles. They're a "No-Die" supergroup. I've seen at least one occasional poster on the forums who has a logo for them as his forum avatar. Sounds like a good support group for you and your friends.

Quote:You realize that unless you decide to lean heavily on dwarf, nothing will change unless your tactics do? You'll get hit with mezzes just as much--which is why you have to be more proactive with your mezzes. Dech's guide will say something in there about that, though, so just read that. However I was running some Hero tips yesterday with a friend and i was getting constantly mezzed ... it was ridiculous nearly a whole tray of wakies had been used in less than 2 mobs, and i thought "It dosnt need to be this way"

*For the record I really dislike the incarnate powers. Imo its easy mode for people to lazy to invest in there toon and makes me sadso nobody say get tier 4 Clarion! :P + if i grind another trial i think i will implode*
....get Clarion Partial Core Invocation (tier 3). It's perma. -
Quote:Question: Did you make this character on beta, or was it a copy from an already live server? If the latter, why can't you just transfer servers from the live version of that character? If the former...No it's more of not wanting to re collect 1,125 badges & accolades already and have everything set up and just want more of a duplicate toon on freedom :3 for a different group
Well, I don't think I have to finish that sentence. -

No offense intended to the OP, but with that size of a reward (from personal experience) I don't think he would have gotten much of a turnout regardless of how much time he gave people to show.

So what you're saying is, we should all roll masterminds? Or mind trollers/doms and spam confuse? Good idea!

Layla keeps getting captured. I think she likes it.

Quote:I disagree with your contrived circumstances. Any decent WS would have at least 1 or 2 pets left over from previous mobs, and the EB would be long dead before the pets despawned. EVEN if a WS had to attack an EB solo, it'd still be more than possible for it to kill it without pets handily.Let me correct myself initially when i said solo ws.. i wasnt talking about team wise.. wrong use of words..
what i meant was 1 vs 1 shade vs x..
shade is going to have a harder time.. than a pb vs x..
The first thing you've said that I can agree with. -
Quote:If so, that person faces some possible solutions to his problem--none of which would be solved by mashing the servers together. It would just create a huge mess, and piss off a lot of people.Isn't this game less populated than it was in 2005?
If so, I can understand why some people feel that their servers are not as good as they once were.
He needs to learn how to find people via global channels, go to a server thats sufficiently full, and possibly learn how to take opinions that he doesn't want to hear. -
Well....I have a rad/sonic with a David Tennant costume. I could probably bring him.

Had an idea earlier, was wondering what others thought of it--League leader chat. Basically, it would be a special chat channel that league leaders get access to (Like the channel that opens up when you level pact someone) that will get automatically seen by everyone else in your league (and in a unique color, so it'll be hard to miss) like Dev chat, but not obnoxiously in every chat box, just the lower one. Alternatively, it could be something you could add to your chat box (to see it--not post in it), like a normal channel.
I don't see this as a needed change, but I thought it would be interesting, and I can see it helping on certain trials (so that you can follow directions/tactics/etc from the leader easier) since there can be a lot of chatter in league chat sometimes. Especially in certain non iTrial activites (like the Mothership Raid, Hamidon, Cathedral of Pain) where you may have so much going on or more than 3 teams worth of people. Sure, you can use another channel such as Request/Broadcast as a go-around, but I thought this might be a nice idea too.
What do you think? -
Quote:And you're right, at least for the enemies in the AV's mob. However, as AIB has demonstrated with Chimera, careful playing can make sure you leave other mobs throughout the map that you can run over to and make new pets with. Also...keep in mind, we're talking about soloing an AV. If you're on a team, the whole argument is null.Since I started in I3. most AV fights end up with *just* the AV standing and most minions dead (short of something like Infernal's portal... and better than 95% of the teams I've been on for that pull him away.)
So, frankly, it's not even something that should need stating. Yes, Dech's guide ends up saying "Leave minions around!" but - again, from my experience with most teams (since, without it... 1-2 minions? Take a red and purple) - they're just not going to do that.
All of this being beside the point, as my pointing out that a WS can solo an Arch Villain was simply to point out how silly an assertion it was that they couldn't even solo an EB. -
Quote:Being smaller than, say, Freedom, does NOT mean our servers do not have communities. Communities that you would gleefully destroy in your attempt to "revitalize" your "shadow of it's former self" server. Perhaps you should try to find the global channels for Infinity?ok...Ok...OK!
You each love your little shires of solitude...i friggin' get it. Cripes...not wonder it's hard to find descent team players.
I loved, and still love, my first server, Infinity. I have some AWESOME toons that I put a lot of work into. I made several good friends and many great (virtual) memories there. I just despair over the fact it is a shadow of its former self and miss the many opportunities to make new friends that only a well-populated server can bring. Forgive me for trying to think of ways to revitalize it.
So please stop whinging on about the technical challenges or the virtues of you "cold dead fingers". I'll continue to make friends, help noobs, and foster a community...you have fun sitting in the corner.
But yeah, insults and taking your ball and going home is a great response to the issues (read: flaws) we pointed out in your idea. -
As much as I dislike the trial, I would probably do it for 10 emp merits. I still wouldn't have fun doing it, and I wouldn't do it every day, but...

Quote:You have an interesting definition of spamming, as it was a single quote that pointed out that IronAlex had faulty assumptions. Also, lolpvp. Way to make it look like you have something to respond with when half of your post I was not arguing about. I frankly couldn't care less which type of squid would "outperform" the other in our crippled player vs player system.Your Point?
(Apart from spamming image files already posted elsewhere)?
AIB can also kill an AV with a PB, as noted here (same AV, in fact).
Not to denigrate his skills in any way, shape or form, it's not too surprising
that with enough Purples and iStuff in a build, *many* toons can accomplish
that.
Otoh, if he brought both of those into PvP, I'll wager the WS will be fishfood
long before the PB...
Of course, PvP is also an area where player skill comes into play - especially
on high-end builds, which both his PB & WS qualify as, so perhaps AIB would
see different results...
But your *average* SO slotted Kheld??? Not so much...

and the reference to eb or av fight .. i meant solo when all the minions are dead.. a ws would have a tougher time than a pb..

Quote:In addition to all the fine points Bill made, your "fix" would mean that global (and non global) friends get separated and unable to play together if one happens to log in on an earlier instanced server. And logging out to join the friend (assuming you know he is on via a global list) is not a good answer to that problem.Servers: Almost a decade ago when this game was build, virtualization was just a buzzword at best. Today we have servers that are no longer defined as a single discreet device but instead a virtual entity that exists independent of the hardware. While I realize this is probably not news to you in any way, the fact that the game is still segregated into separate individual servers reflects an increasingly antiquated paradigm. This severely hinders people who have characters they want to play that are isolated on the more inactive servers. What I would suggest instead is a single server that all players log into. In the event it becomes overloaded, it would become full an new server would become available, much like we do with the individual games zones when they become loaded. I realize there would have a number of challenges to implement this (AE might have to become its own zone for instance), but it would deeply enrich the CoH community as a whole, making us a true City of Heroes as a opposed to a "Multiple Dimensions of Cities of Heroes who cant play together".
And thanks, but I'd rather not have you steal my fellow denizens of Protector away from me and replace them with random people from other servers.
