  2. I prettied up the insane stf signup list. As you can see, we still need debuff/damage and a cager.
  3. Something to keep in mind, guys. I don't know when the forums will be shut down, so if all this disappears? You can find a mirrored copy of all the details of this event on Layla's deviantart page (rei2jewels.deviantart.com).

Remember this, and spread the word!
  4. We have two spots left on the insane STF, we REALLY still need a cager. Which means sonic resonance or forcefield, if you have it. Gravity controls dimension shift just isn't as good for this use because it would only be on half the time, and dark miamasa has a longer base recharge.

We also can still use a debuff/damage, though I will take a damage/healer to help with keeping the main tank alive.

  6. I'll miss you guys. Kheldian players are the best.
  7. I'll look forward to seeing you guys!

I live in Phoenix too! Unfortunately, most of the other guys are east coast, so we don't generally last that long. I think last Friday the official events lasted till about 8-9pm pacific time. Of course, I stayed up for a bit after that, but by that point we were losing some people.

Sure, just make sure you're ready to match the criteria for the more exotically themed ones.

Ok, we'll put you on the reserve list for possibly taking the tanking spot (assuming you can tank Recluse). We really need debuff/damage and cage holders right now.
  10. Thanks Zal!

Also, I've updated the OP to include the sign up sheet for the Insane STF. When anyone wants to RSVP for it, please include your primary and secondary choices of characters to bring. Getting 4 people with caging powers will probably be the most difficult part, and if need be I have a character I can bring that will have to respec to get it.

If you're up for the insane STF, will need your character powers, so others know what they can bring.
  12. In light of recent events, Layla and I have been forced to step up our planning on our next (and apparently last) event. You'll notice that we aren't including influence prizes on any of them...I can throw money at you if you want, though. (Gotta find the humor where you can, folks.)

Anyway, for the next several weeks, we're going to be doing task force marathons leading up to the last Layla and Stone event ever. Without further ado, the schedule:

    All times are Eastern!

    September 8th:

    Starting at 11am
    Freedom Phalanx TF Marathon
Bring your namesake characters, if you still have them!

    September 15th:

Starting at 11am (Blueside Trial Marathon)
    Death From Below
    Cavern of Transcendence
    Drowning in Blood
    Abandoned Sewer
    Eden
    Terror Volta (Respec#3)

    September 22nd:

    11am start
Redside TFs--all of em that we can.

    And the main event...
    Saturday, October 6th:

    11am--Master of Lady Grey TF

1pm--You scream we scream for a sonic themed Sister Psyche TF

    3pm--The Krazy Knockback Katie

    Bring your knockback powers!

5pm--The Way of the Drunken Fist
Bring your stun powers on a Manticore TF

7pm--The return of the Medic TF

Blaster and Fenders pair up on an ITF. The goal? Neither partner that you have formed a buddy with can die. The surviving pair gets a free Layla doll made after any of their personal characters. If there are more than one pair of survivors, they will enter SUDDEN DEATH! (I hope we have sudden death, it will be lots of fun.)

    Sunday, October 7th:

12pm (noon)--The Really Hard Way badge!
We are only trying it once, so make it count. If you have corrupters, bring them. We need lots of DPS and debuffs to even have a chance.

    4pm--The Insane STF
This one will be...tough. The goal? Take down Lord Recluse WITHOUT taking down his towers. Impossible? Maybe, maybe not. To have a chance we will need:

4 people with intangible enemy powers, such as sonic cage, dimension shift, etc.
3 people that can contribute DPS/debuffs. Looking for Corrs, ill/rads, and cold domination.
1 person that can tank Lord Recluse.

This will be a sign up only event, so sign up here or send me a message end game. I will need from you what character you want to bring that matches the above criteria, and a secondary character that matches the criteria to fill in another role in case we need to mix it up. Please ensure to RSVP with the strongest character you have that matches the criteria.

    Sign up list:
Tank: @Layla Rei (Dark/War Mace tank)
    DnD 1: @Stone Daemon (Illusion/Radiation controller)
    DnD 2: @Omega 3(Ill/rad or Thugs/time)
    DnD 3: @Septipheran (cold domination/psi defender)
    TC 1: @BLA (Forcefield/Sonic defender)
    TC 2: @doom.rider (Rad/Sonic defender)
    TC 3: @AIB (Forcefield/Psi defender)
    Pocket Empath: ------------------------------------------------------------------

(DnD: Damage and Debuff, TF: Tower Cager)

    Reserve List
Reserve LR tank: BigYeti SS/Inv Broot

    7pm--Redside CoP
I've placed this at the same time as Strike Force Sunday because I hope Zaloopa will go for it. Also, it assumes we can get enough villains to do it. Fingers crossed.

And that's it! If you have any questions or want to RSVP, please feel free! Let's make the most of the time we have left, guys. Cause I'm gonna miss you all.
  13. Man, I'm gonna need to find out how to steal kheldians out of the game to keep this going. I'll figure something out.

    Anyways, we had fun tonight!

I've called off the task force trawl. From now on, we're only doing what the consensus wants to do. I want us all to have the most fun we can. So, please feel free to speak up as to what you want to do for the next week!

I suppose it was worded a bit wonky, but what I meant was that when playing support ATs, having Frostwork on me does little for me. As in, having someone cast it on me.

Not that it really matters now, given the news.
  15. Now I'll never get that final respec done on my Lady Penitent, complete with a crashless Quasar.

    What a cruel, cruel twist.
  16. Here is your final opportunity to keep a memory from this game alive, guys. Go to Laylas deviantart page, and send her a message. Good luck all, and thanks for being awesome.
  17. Given the recent news...

Now is your last chance, guys. Go hit Layla up at rei2jewels.deviantart.com.
  18. Gonna miss you guys. Protector was the little server that could. We were the ones that did the crazy **** with less people than it took other servers. It's been an era since I started playing this game...I'm not quite sure what I'll do next.

    Farewell, guys.

Well, at least I wasn't the one to take this discussion a little too personally...
    Sounds like the truth hurts?

Except for the cat thing. That was just funny.

Unless I really did kill your cat.
  22. Hard to say what you would get more out of without seeing your build.

  24. Frostwork regularly does nothing for me on my support ATs, as I usually sit at (or close to) my HP cap due to accolades and set bonuses. I wouldn't mind seeing it converted to absorb so that the power isn't wasted.

Not Hoarfrost, though. At least, not the tanks version. They have a higher HP cap that the +HP was designed to work with. They don't need it.

I do recall seeing many builds like that ages ago, but always figured those were geared more towards PvP builds than PvE as that was all the rage and RAIDs actually existed.
Basically, yes. Those defense debuffs you're slotting for aren't really helping you kill enemies. The base value of it is fine as is, and any more won't help. And slotting for knockback is just going to annoy you, because you'll be chasing after enemies that could be dead already. (And where you slotted for stun on that dwarf attack, that power only had a chance for stun. Not worth slotting.) No, the best thing to slot for in this case would be damage, accuracy, and sustainability. It's best to factor conserve energy out of the equation for the latter, because it's only going to be up, at best, half the time. So take a good look at your endurance costs when determining what to slot after you have damage/accuracy taken care of.

Keep in mind that I rarely respec to adjust the build based on say focusing on one form so whatever becomes final will exist to serve as the complete strand of DNA for the life of the character. Unless of course something completely changes how powers work in such an extreme that forces a change. IE: things like ED and the end of 6-slot (dis)advantage.
There are a couple options for stealth, but unless you need the ability to ghost you should be all right without one. It's up to you.

Of course, of course. And yes, I've wasted inf on quite a few debuff SOs back in the day when trying to slot my character. To this day I still right click on them before purchase just to double check.
