I understand that stygian return is a great power and a mag 30 stun is awesome, but I just don't die enough to justify it. Unchain essence I dropped because I will get much better DPS with Dark Detonation. I could pick up those three powers in place of the shields, but I like the shields for when I am fighting one enemy and can't get a full Eclipse. Also I could remove some slots from other powers and put a couple slots into Gravitic and Unchain (Return could get away with the base slot), but they wouldn't be slotted well, so I didn't figure I'd bother with it. And actually because I like the way the shields look, I enjoy being a fuzzy purple fluffball of doom.

Also I took Dark Detonation over Gravitic because the TAoE meshes better with my three PBAoEs, where as with Gravitic, I'd feel obligated to hop back a bit to get the best effect with the cone.
You seem to be under the impression Gravitic is just another attack, but with knockback. It isn't. It's a control. Your SL softcap will help keep you safe for a majority of the content, but it's still a very useful mitigation tool.

Which brings me to the self rez. You might not die often, but you will, at some point, die. And you're saying that a redundant resistance toggle that helps you not at all is worth more? (In fact, not only doesn't it help you, but it's actually quite the opposite--it's an additional endurance drain you really don't need.) It can't be because of exemping, because face it--that build will not exemp well. I've had a similar build--except with those attacks you are missing, of course--and I can tell you human form is tough enough when exemping, the shields won't change anything overmuch.

And unchain essence is an awesome mob wiper/corpse maker. Dark Detonation is nice and all, but it's really not that strong. It's more of a filler/add on AoE attack.

Why are you picking up the shields if you have perma eclipse? The powers you're sacrificing (Gravitic Emanation, Stygian Return, Unchain Essence)...it's not worth it.
  5. I prefer the guaranteed badge with a quick and safe kill, rather than buffing up on defense and hoping for the best. To each their own.

Simple. Take a room bigger than what you actually need, and make a faux wall (out of cabinets, or whatever) in between the entrance of the room and the rest of it. Then, you can make the opening in the fake wall halfway been the floor and ceiling.
  7. So tonight, on Kheldian Fridays....

We started off with an Master of Apex TF:

Afterwards, we finally got around to an all kheld RtR (Raid the Rikti, aka Mothership raid, for those who are unfamiliar with Protector lingo). It was a smashing success!

I think that makes us the first all kheld RtR team.
  8. I would imagine what with the new shapeshifting EAT coming out, the problem of toggle suppression will be dealt with, one way or another. I hope. The question becomes whether or not they'll extend that tech outside of the powerset.

I really appreciate all the input, I may give this build a try tonight
    No problem!

That build is actually quite similar to mine now (though I went Agility alpha), so it should work out for you. As to the boosters, you click on the enhancements like you were going to slot a different one, and while having your mouse over the enhancement you've chosen, hit the + button. Make sure you hit enter when you're done, or it won't keep.

    X-Men's Cerebro

    Hmmm...

Perhaps if you split it into two rooms, so that you can place the door/ramp at the appropriate height so as to center it in the middle of the room.
  11. Small changes to get you perma Light Form:
(Note that I boosted the recharges on hasten to +5, hopefully that is not an issue)

It's not my picture, I took it from google. I wouldn't be opposed to more Nictus weapons, but I don't really see the point either. The effect obscures the blade quite a bit, so different blades won't do much for you.

He isn't, by the games definition, a warshade. Warshades are former nictus that left the dark path behind. The thing that merged with Romulus was no "former nictus." And as he only has a few of the powers available to a warshade (the rest being broadsword/shield powers)...it's like calling Galaxy Archons warshades.

    We already have a sword:

In general, I'm not that pleased with the outcome. I may try to make a stairway leading to the platform, to center it in the room more. I don't know. The tech ramps alone don't really smooth out the room, light fixtures or desks would be worth trying, if you have the time.

He is not a warshade, by the way. He is an NPC arch-villain that has a couple fluffy pets and special weapons. He doesn't get access to all of the powers warshades do, and even then his powers are not "channeled through his weapons." Comparing them in meaningless.

*shrugs* When one wants to ignore lore, one has to make do with what one can get.
  18. I find that the proc is too random to be really useful, but hell--you only have so many choices of things to slot in those forms. And none of them really change your play too much, so give it a go if you want. (I generally use the performance shifter proc.)
  19. Why did you not just post in the first thread? Your data link is broken, by the way, so I'll just point out the issues I can easily see. Anyway...
    • Slotting Gravitic Emanation for damage/knockback? It's a stun.
    • Gravity Well needs damage, slotting it for hold only makes it useless.
    • Your Dark Extraction pets enhancement values suffer from Call to Arms.
    • You want accuracy in Inky Aspect, not endurance reduction. Take a look at it's base endurance cost.
    • You're overslotting Stygian Circle, and with the wrong enhancements. You want recharge so that it will be up even more. The heal you get from it is already large, and needs no further enhancement. Also, a proc is a bad idea in that power.
    • A FotG in Orbiting Death? And nothing else in that power? It won't be slotted enough to be worth using (or sustainable), and you're a tri-former with poor attacks in human form as it is.
    • You've slotted your corpse nuke for stun.
    • You've slotted the self rez?
    • Sunless Mire...needs to be slotted for accuracy, damage, and recharge.
    • There are more things, but that is enough for now.

What exactly are you trying to do with this build? If I had to guess, it would seem you're completely forsaking human forms potential (and to a lesser extent dwarf) in order to just Nova everything to death. But if that were true, you have a lot of procs and such going to waste in human form powers.
  20. Or, if you want to roleplay being a warshade with weapons...

Roll a Broadsword/Dark Armor scrapper and unlock the Romulus Sword.

Do you mean Resistance/Recharge instead of Dam/Rech? Or did you mean a different power than Eclipse? Just making sure!

Are you sure? I've always felt a little uneasy about the Perf Shifter procs. I'm just paranoid about getting shafted by it at a crucial time, but I guess with Stygian it'd be less of an issue.

Thanks! And yeah, unless they're cheaper than the last time I looked, I'm not gonna be able to afford the pet purples! My god those are still expensive...

How about this version? I changed the slotting in Quasar (since I think that's what you meant), moved the Acc in Eclipse to Unchain Essence, and swapped the ATOs to there from the Nova cone.

For defense, SL is the easiest choice, but others have been able to squeeze a large amount of positional without damaging the performance. That said, it would be much more expensive. Kinetic combats are the way to go for SL, one set in each of your melee attacks (RS/IS/Dwarfs) will net you about 13-14%, the uniques another 6%, and I'm sure there are a few other set bonuses you can squeeze in. Granted, unless you want to roll at crazy difficulty levels, you'll be fine without worrying about defense.

Yeah, I meant Quasar about the dam/end/recharge thing. Dunno why I said eclipse, haha.

And yeah, you should be fine with performance shifter procs. My old tri-form build had nothing but a single stamina slot with the proc, and a proc in each of the forms. Never had issues.

I'll check out the new version when I get home--my work computer doesn't have mids.
  22. All in all it's a pretty solid build.

Few things I'd consider looking at:

I'd personally try to build a bit more defense in it, and you've (imo) wasted a slot in eclipse on that second accuracy IO. Working in two more knockback protection IOs (BotZ's in shadow recall and nebulous form) would help, if you find yourself in the thick of things a lot. I'd switch out one of the dam/recharges in eclipse for a dam/end/rech: you'll still crash, obviously, but if you use the nuke as a follow up instead of an opener, it'll be easier to use, and the damage/recharge values won't really be hurt by the change. The end IO in dwarf is perhaps better switched with a performance shifter (or remove the slot entirely), I don't think you'll get much use out of it as is. Same for stamina, I'd switch to just the base slot with the performance shifter proc (with stygian circle up every ten seconds, you should be fine). I'd also prefer getting the acc/dam/recharge and chance for build up pet purples onto extracting essence, but those are purples after all.

Regardless of the above, this build will definitely get the job done. Nicely done.
  23. Gotta keep you pesky squids on a leash.
  24. Also, your data link is broken, will need a chunk.
  25. Can't really look at your build atm, but I wanted to answer this question:
