As far as I know, things like glowy hands are attached to the skeleton themselves, and so are blast sources, so even if you changed the animation a fire ball would still come off your hand even if you changed it to a wave animation that puts your arm up. This last part is a bit of educated speculation, though.

    [/ QUOTE ]

This is probably the main reason I doubt they would customize animations. Some animations would simply not make sense on other powers. Then there's the whole debacle that would be animation cohesion with animation time, if someone used a long animation for a short recharge power for example. Just my opinion, but I think the Devs would have foreseen the whole can of worms they'd open up if they tried to implement customized animations.

That being said, if they do it, they've exceeded my expectations. I'm just saying people shouldn't get their hopes up for something like that based off of a teaser showing purple and blue imps. Filling in the blanks that severely will lead to much crying and 'need moar pleez!!!' later.

Still, I will happily eat my words if they make it happen.
  2. [ QUOTE ]

So far, I am only expecting them to allow us to pick one color tint for all of your primary and another for all of your secondary. I doubt there will be much more detail. I doubt you will be able to customize every single power's color individually. I doubt you will be able to change the particle types and i doubt you will be able to hide particles. I also doubt we would get to customize epic pool tints.

If any of that becomes possible, the delivery will exceed my hype. If just uniform tinting of prmary and secondary becomes possible, the delivery will match my hype. So for me at least, it's impossible for the devs to disappoint me.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    ^^^

I'd also like to add, some speculation has people believing we're getting full power customization in the forms of animations and such as well. Anyone believing this is setting themselves up for disappointment.

The North American live servers will be taken down momentarily to deploy a hotfix that will address some map crashing issues.

Estimated maintenance duration: 2 hours from 12:30PM Pacific Time to 2:30PM Pacific Time.

We apologize for the last minute warning and hope that this disruption will have a minimal impact on your game experience today!

Secondly, I wanted to warn you about travel powers. If I remember correctly, you are using a trial account. Trial accounts do not give the full gameplay experience. Not even close. Unfortunately, this means the level progression stops before you gain a travel power. This sucks. Unless you purchase the game and a months worth of play, you won't get to experience the majesty of soaring over Paragon City or jumping from rooftop to utility poles to rooftop again.

    [/ QUOTE ]
No, this was covered in one of his other threads. Trial accounts can get to level FOURTEEN and they CAN get a travel power.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Ack. I stand corrected! Thank you for catching that. The good news is, you CAN play with travel powers on a trial account.

Note: You will need to look through Pool powers as soon as they become available. You will need to take at least one other power before your designated travel power in order to access it.

Example: Flight is your travel power of choice. In order to be able to Fly at level 14, you will need to take Flight from the power pool choices and choose either Air Superiority or Hover first.

  13. Hello again Elessar,

The posters before me have pretty well covered the main jist, but I wanted to reiterate and add to their comments.

The first thing I can really urge you to do to maximize your experience, in my opinion, is read the text of what contacts are saying to you. This will give you your storylines and will probably hold your interest a little better than street sweeping.

Super speed is the fastest way to travel arguably once you know the zones, and can speed by some enemies without them noticing you. Teleportation is tricky, but can be useful in many situations.

Third, once you reach level 5, find the Yellow Line train station on your map and head there. Inside, you can click on the train doors and access different parts of the city. Kings Row is where you want to go at that level. A purple icon will appear on your map designating a detective for you to talk to. Once you talk to them, you will get a police scanner. You can access the scanner by opening your Contacts list and clicking on the radio at the top. Doing these will earn you a Safeguard mission, where you stop a bank robbery. Succeed and get a Raptor pack (flight temporary power) and travel becomes much easier. If you fail, try again in a few more radio missions.

When you first start playing, do the tutorial in Outbreak. You may have done this already, but it bears repeating that you should read all of the text. There is alot of useful information there that gets missed by newcomers alot.

Sorry this took so long, but I wanted to hit the main points. Good luck and happy hunting.

PS. Are you seeing npc chat bubbles at all? What I mean is whne you are walking around, can you seeing citizens and enemies saying things? My account had defaulted to having this feature off for some reason and it was quite boring until I figured out this needed to be fixed. Let me know if you need help with that.

  15. I don't plan in advance for what I'm going to do with a toon ahead of time so much. Some would argue that I should, but the min/max/numbercrunch aspect takes some of the fun out. Every now and then I figure out that a power I selected doesn't work like I thought it did. Making the respec more user friendly would be more useful for just about everyone.

Bringing the enhancement screen up with the most recent leveling changes and introducing a 'Previous Level' back button would make more sense. I don't know how feasible it is with the current engine, but it is noteworthy I believe.

As it stands now, do what I do: use your cell phone to take a picture of your enhancement screen
  16. This combo gets better.

    Period.

I say this because I run the same combo, and had a tough time for awhile, mainly endurance problems while keeping my zombies alive. Hang in there. These are a few goals that helped me get through:

    1. World of Pain...get it, slot it, this is your biggest defense for your followers.

    2. Lich....major debuffs and range support.

    3. Your second 'equip' upgrade...this was a game changer. I had seriously considered scrapping my MM, then this happened. Get it ASAP.

and finally 4. Anguishing Cry (name? at work atm)...absolutely wrecks enemy defense and resist. Slot it for accuracy because it can miss. You know when it hits, because AV's drop like no ones business. My buddy and I duoed Ghost Widow on difficulty 4, and the fight was too easy.

One more pointer for the road, at lower levels the damage is important. As you get your guys 6 slotted, I suggest putting 1 defense debuff and 1 to-hit debuff in each (zombies tier 1 only take to-hit debuffs I believe). The debuff factor really helps alot.

Anyway, my few cents. I hope this helps.

I'm happy to see that you are willing to give this another shot.

If you are playing on Justice server, I will be more than happy to help show you around a bit. We'll put some levels on you and hopefully you can have more fun with it.

I still can't say you will like it, as everyone has their own opinions, but having a guide does help.

Reporting it in itself doesn't get it banned. They look at the reported content before banning them. The report gives them a 'flag', if you will.

    [/ QUOTE ]
I won't. You know what's awesome? Having some semblance of a clue about what you're talking about before you open your bonghole.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Wow. Here I was thinking we were having a conversation, and here's all this aggression. Chill.

    [ QUOTE ]

Complaints get a mish pulled, and you have a chance to revise and update. If it gets more complaints, it gets locked. Then you can go to CS to have it reviewed. In his postings on this Posi made it pretty clear that this is when actual human beings look at the mission. This, IIRC, is when a mission gets a flag and is unbannable until it is changed. If a person was deciding whether or not it should be locked initially, why would I have the option of going to CS?

Since you can have a mish pulled through reports and make the player have to petition to get his slot back, the system is wide open for griefing.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Show me where Posi says this. If you don't know where to find it, you are posting heresay. It's second-hand knowledge and not viable for your arguement unless you've seen it yourself. Honestly, I think that this statement is about as viable as their parameters for the definition of farming.

If you're right, I will admit my mistake and concede that you are right. Until you prove your statement, practice what you preach and shut your own 'bonghole'.

Reporting an AE farm isn't griefing.

    [/ QUOTE ]

When there is no definition of what a farm is and mish's get banned without any human evaluation, it most certainly is.

By even the most expansive definition of farms, what teh OP describes isn't one. If it meets your own personal standard, which exists only in your head and you get it banned for that reason, that's griefing in my book. It lets the lowest common denominator decide what's a farm. To prove a point, maybe I should start reporting anything that gives more xp than a map full of rikti monkeys as a farm.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Reporting it in itself doesn't get it banned. They look at the reported content before banning them. The report gives them a 'flag', if you will.

The fact that they are indeed banning farms makes it impossible for it to be griefing by reporting an arc as such.

Farm, don't farm, whatever. It doesnt matter to me, but implying that someone who reports farm missions is griefing is plain wrong.

Fredik, as I read your post it sounds as if you played this thing through (because you found the 7 or 8 AVs) ...

From this, I assume you benefited from what you thought was a farm ...

... and now you come here to complain about it.

Did you report this farm? That would be the "least intrusive" way of dealing with this rather than come up with "solutions" to the farming problem and start flame wars here.

What is this number of this arc? As you know, there are so many anti-farmers in these threads that merely by listing their numbers, you can contribute to their demise.

No need for "least intrusive" ideas that hurt everybody. There is a system in place. Use it.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Thank you for suggesting that he grief other players. That's very constructive.

add more of your alts to it. you get 20,000 for each member up to 15 of them that joins. with 15 members you get 300K. more then enough to do what you want for now.

    [/ QUOTE ]

This pretty much nails it. If you and your friends have multiple characters, and you probably do , invite your friends' alternate toons, and have them invite yours as well. You will gain bonus prestige as Sharker pointed out AND you will earn prestige for your group, no matter what character you are playing.

Sidenote: even as players fall to the wayside and leave or certain characters don't get played anymore, leave them in the SG. You will lose prestige they earned if you kick them, as well as bonus prestige. Having too many inactive members won't be an issue unless you try to recruit alot of outside people and max out your roster.
