Quote:I hope that's not it, but I've seen similar things done in another newly FTP NCSoft game and also in LOTRO. I refuse to buy them, I'd rather avoid the content than be a sucker.has anyone noticed that the taunt is getting more prevelant just as they are about to sell us something on the market to prevent it....
Coincidence I think not.
I haven't tried Night Ward yet, but if it is too much of a pain because of the Taunt mechanic I just won't play there. -
Happy Birthday, Partner!
Another year older and all the better for it like a fine wine.
We've played together over seven years and I've enjoyed every bit of it. You've made this game more than a game, you've made it a second home. It wouldn't be the same without you. You've stood with me through some rough times....
I'll always have your back and I know you have mine. -
I'm not quite sure and would love some advice. The three characters I'm most concerned with are:
Sgt Pandora (Rad/Rad Def) - Heavy debuff and heals with some blasting, especially in normal gameplay.
American Dreaming (Inv/EM Tank) - tank, primarily solos but I take team tanking seriously. If I have to choose between solo and team for emphasis, I'll get the team one first. I run at +4/x8 solo.
Widow Artemis (Widow) - Scrapperlock
Any suggestions? -
Even so, Fruity Pebbles my 12 year old hero, who got her start in Destroyed Galaxy City with her big brother Moose Bronski (19) and her classmates Jay and Kiko fighting the Giant Shivan with pipes, brooms, stick spears, fists, and manhole covers and became the Knights of Galaxy City, will love it. Her battle cry is "I'm a Ninja Fairy Princess!"
Really! -
Thank you, I greatly appreciate that.

85+% Option 1
14+% Option 2
What do we get? OPTION 2!
Why bother having the poll in the first place? -
I'll be trying it on the three characters of mine that actually have Lore and Destiny unlocked, with priority given to my main Sgt Pandora 50+3 Rad/Rad Def (Liberty). The other two are American Dreaming 50 +3 Inv/EM Tank (Liberty) and Widow Artemis 50 +3 Widow (Virtue)
I don't have the time or fortitude or even the desire to grind itrial after itrial to do this on all of my 50s. That feels too much like work to me. In time I'll add more characters to the above list, but put more priority on just simple enjoyment. For me that includes trying new powersets, favorite story arcs, AE, costume contests, and roleplaying as well as itrials and DA. I'm an odd player in that for me end-game feels like a sentence, not a reward. -
Winter Kills of the Paragon University thread moved to England to further her college education. Nothing really awful happened to her, she just wanted a better education and to see more of the world.
Simon-Says of the Whitmoore Apartments thread moved to England with her fiancee following getting pregnant, the death of her father, her capture by the 5th Column, hospitalization after a drug overdose, and a traumatizing psychic battle with Vanessa DeVore. From there she moved to her home in France and entered a quiet retirement until the 2nd Rikti Invasion.
Steele-Magnolia of the Whitmoore Apartments thread got married and moved to Founders Falls (coincidentally the home was a wedding gift from Simon-Says, her old teammate. She became so busy with R & D for MetaForces (her new group) and Portal Corps that she was too valuable to risk doing hero work.
Sgt Pandora of the Whitmoore Apartments thread got too busy doing her work for FBSA.
Artemis 2020 of the Whitmoore Apartments thread went undercover in the Rogue Isles in pursuit of revenge following a horrible fight with her father (sort of, he's the Primal Earth version of her father from an alternate future).
2020 Vision of the Whitmoore Apartments thread moved to Council Empire with his friend Kid Valorto help the resistance there and evade repercussions for some of their actions here.
Cassandra Seer of the Whitmoore Apartments thread got married and settled into domestic bliss.
This Woman's Work, a ghost, of the Paragon University thread just wandered off in ghost-like fashion.
Maxwell Croninger of the Whitmoore Apartments thread died defending a Crey facility from rogue heroes.
Sword of Solomon and Exodus Reborn of the Whitmoore Apartments thread returned to Israel.
That's all I can remember. -
Suicidal Tendencies - Pinnacle

I have family visiting, arriving tomorrow. My playtime is going to be at a premium until they leave. I'll play when I can.

Quote:Have to shave the catWhat's the strangest excuse you've ever been told for someone going afk or quitting a team/league on tf or trial?
The silliest?
Quote:The most excusable?
Quote:The most inexcusable?
Real life happens, I get that. I am pretty forgiving about need for afks, just say something. If you have time at least say "afk". If you don't, at least say "sorry" when you get back even if you can't explain why. Respect that there are other people, real people, who have committed their time to teaming with you for a specific purpose. -
Quote:Exactly. I don't have a need for an xp booster, but if I ever do I'll now have one thanks to the store. And while I was in there I couldn't help but notice all the shiny toys in there just waiting to be bought.Unless of course I happen to want/need a nut and bolt, and then...hey, free nut and bolt!
There's a local hardware store in my neighborhood that regularly puts out coupons for free keys, no purchase required. Keys cost a company, what, maybe a nickel to make? and are usually priced around a buck fifty. A free key isn't usually enough of a draw to get me into the store, but if I'm there, and i have the coupon on me, why not. Or alternative, if i need a key, where do you think the first place I'm going to go is?
Of course, the hardware store is hoping I will buy something else from them, but they put no obligation on me to do so, and nothing says I can't just take my key and leave. Should I express my disappointment in the hardware store for doing a crappy job of getting me to buy more stuff, Or my appreciation that they conveniently offered me something I wouldn't have otherwise had?
Eh, I think I'll take my free key with a smile, thank them, and probably go spend that dollar on a diet soda.
This week: a free xp booster
Next week: Who knows? I'm looking forward to it.
Disclaimer: I already buy stuff from the store and knew it was there, but I was curious what would show up on the top page for new people coming in for their freebies. I think it is well handled. -
Wow! You beat my personal best of 14 minutes and change.
I enjoy a good speed TF if I'm in the right frame of mind for it. -
*Squeeeeeeeee!*
I love free stuff! Inspirations, temp powers, costume pieces, what have you - it's all good. -

Quote:I can make it. I'll talk to Valor today and see if he can.I can list times to do specific MoTrial runs until I'm blue in the face - but if the folks that want those badges can't be there, it's not going to do them much good.
For MoBAF, how's Monday at 8PM Eastern?
I'm almost directly speaking to Steele and AV here. You guys are long term vets, but when the issue dropped, for whatever the reason, you didn't get them with the rest of the hard core badging community. I can only assume this is because of limited playtime. When is good for you? -
Quote:This. I abandoned my TW character at 22. I loathe momentum. Can't deny it's ultimately very powerful, but I stopped using it. The momentum mechanic was becoming far, far too tedious for me. It was a slight irritation to be taking so damn long to get attacks moving, a slight irritation that built up relentlessly until my eye started to twitch and I rolled up a God damn Warmace instead. Was also pretty annoying in teams as well....I'll just atta-oh they killed it. Then I'll attack this ins-oh they killed it. Then I shall attack THI-OH COME ON!
*shrug* Ended up not entirely agreeing with me. -
Quote:I need all of them on Sgt Pandora and American Dreaming. I don't have any Mo badges on either of them. I'll double check to be sure and if I'm wrong I'll update this. I believe the only Mo badges I have are on Virtue.I know it's a pain, but list which specific badges you need on the iTrials.
MoMoM - except for the nightmares, this can usually be done on one run. Instead of farming for them, I'll try to run them more often - the problem is when to run them so I'm not stepping on someone's toes. Additionally, for MoM, I feel quite justified in asking for +2 or higher, so that creates some problems for some people.
MoTPN- I have the notes for an MoTPN, just need to make them macros so I can remind myself what's to be done, as well as the rest of the league. I'll be running this more often before I lead an MO effort, though.
MoDD-There seems to be no problems catching this with @dragynslayer, or even @Energizing Ion - they run MoDD frequently.
MoUGT- I do these every Sunday. I had stepped back and let @nights blood run them, but haven't seen him on in a month, so I stepped forward again. Liberty is getting into a nice groove running these, and running them well.
MoLambda -I got these when they first came out, so I'll have to refresh my memory on how to get each one you may need, but let's see what's needed first. Which badges do you need?
MoKeyes - Thanks to @wulfrich and @Xtreme Raze and @Letroy and several other key players, after many, many tries, the avoids the green stuff happened for my main. Maybe if we talk anime', wulfie will run some more of these.
MoBAF - see my words on MoLambda - Keep 'em Seperated isn't too bad, Strong and Pretty seems to be the toughest one, but we should be able to get this if we try.
The MoTFS - a good bit depend on team buffs and debuffs and having some experienced players knowing what to do. The Paragon City Saints have taken me on Speed TF runs without any defeats- but the only thing was they didn't have MO designated up front, so no badge was awarded. (and who needs assemble the team on itf?)
Who else has goals for their toons? (besides the obvious XP and incarnate salvage reward tables) -

I like the gritty feel of Kings Row and have nostalgic feelings for the zone. I'm against any revamp that significantly changes the zone. Revamping the contacts to clean up the mission lists and get rid of the "run and talk to this other contact yonder and far away" and have the missions all be in Kings Row is something I would like to see. Newer content that focuses on showcasing a zone, such as Cimerora or Croatoa or the RWZ or the Hollows or Striga (get the picture?), or that occurs within a single zone for convenience, such as the Midnighter entry arc, is popular. It's convenient and showcases the zone and is something I'd like to see most of the older content revamped for.

Quote:I already know I won't get the invasion badge on all my characters, not even on all my 50s. The logins are going to take long enough. The log in badge I could do in two days or so, the invasion badge...I got it on the only toon where it mattered to me.
Last year I got burned by the badge. I'd heard it was account wide and it was not. I wish they'd make the anniversary badges account wide already and have done with it, like they did for Defender of Primal Earth. -
Quote:This. I bought points to get the tokens to get the costume pieces. $45... and now it's practically going to be given away.At the normal costume price of 400pp/$5?
I spent the equivalent of up to $45 on them as a T9 VIP item (slightly less due to bulk points buying discount). I tell you what, I sure would be pissed if someone could then buy the whole thing for five bucks. No sir.
NOT spending money on tokens ever again. -
I find click-to-move very helpful. Sorry, I was expanding from there on my train of thought of just how convenient that and the other ease of movement and targeting features are.
-
Quote:The ease of movement and targetting and ability to customize the UI in this game is extremely helpful for me. I know there are great games out there that use a manual targetting system, but I can't play them. With partial paralysis of my hands, nerve damage, arthritis, and fibromyalgia it's the ease of this game that allows me to play so well that my teammates notice nothing at all and I'm sought after on my server for itrials and Mo runs. I am proud that I'm able to play so well and keep up with even the leet speed players. My hands barely move except for when I type. I use a combination of mouse movement, targetting through the team menu, autotargetting, and 1-0 keys. You're right, I remember that now that you mention it. The City of Hero update is what brought us robes and jackets, the so-called "anime-inspired" costume pieces which caused small minds to rant and rave in protest.
I still think the Click-to-Move feature has to have come out later, though. That came with the Free Camera Movement which detaches character orientation from the camera and includes the /cameraturn slash command. I remember playing with those for the very first time on a low-level villain, one of the first I had, which has to have been somewhere around CoV's launch.
I recall trying to use camera rotation instead of mouse look to look around, and then binding my character to turn the camera when he started moving so it'd be more like in Prince of Persia (or how White/Black Dwarves move) but that never worked.
I don't know, I could have my timing wrong.
*edit*
You are absolutely correct. According to ParagonWiki, click to move was part of I4.
I've even taught my 65 year old mother, who is even more physically limited to play in a fashion. She autofollows me and uses the 1-0 keys to attack. That's it.
This game is accessible to the impaired and I love it. Never change it.
