I hope two of those big fixes are the chat bug and the mission selection bug.
And please please please *crosses fingers and wishes on a star* let me be in Issue 14 beta. I have some writing to test out. The RP writer in me is crying out for it. -
Thank you, Positron, for being so open and honest with us. This kind of communication is one of the things that make this game great.

I thought this system was supposed to help me, the casual player, instead it favors the farmers.
[/ QUOTE ]
You mean casual players are finally starting to see that the system hurts them, not helps them? The same thing many of us pointed out during beta? Huh.
[/ QUOTE ]
It comes as no surprise, I was one of the people saying this would happen. Sarcasm at me is misdirected. -

I want to do some TFs and outfit my toons NOW. I don't want to do TFs until JUNE just to outfit ONE toon.

This.
I wouldn't go so far as Krakken is suggesting, that's extreme IMO. However, merit costs are too high for my playstyle. Prior to I-13 I could gradually build my multiple characters over time, occasionally get a recipe drop from a task force that I could use, now that's just not possible.
I can't buy what's not available on the market. I'm not interested in farming task forces over and over and over and over and over. I would like to continue playing the way I want to, and maybe get a merit-purchased recipe a couple times a month.
I alternate characters, I earn 6 merits here, 25 merits there, and 40 merits over there.... and I still haven't earned enough merits on any character to buy a single recipe yet. Not even a knockback protection.
I thought this system was supposed to help me, the casual player, instead it favors the farmers. I see the potential, but the merit costs are too high, and the pools are too confusing. It needs to be cheaper and simplified. -

We really are a spoiled playerbase. It's either a sign of a good Dev team.. or of entitled players.
The idea that every decision made by the Devs has to please everyone is pure foolishness. Just as the idea that the Devs don't care is also pure foolishness.
The fact that a change to a game causes this much animosity is either amusing or troubeling.
In the end, the ONLY response that will really get the Devs attention is to cancle your subscription. If you're still paying them $15 a month while [censored] up a storm, why should they bother?

Because in spite of all of the problems, it is still the best game I have ever played! -

because it's really the only thing justifying having a SG base with defenses in it right now.

You forgot "decorative" purposes. I have plenty of guns and such in my base with no plans to ever raid.

List the bugs pls.
[/ QUOTE ]
How about the memory leak that popped up again with the pre-Double XP weekend patch (that nerfed the Reformed badge and brainstorms/crafting)? It doesn't hit everyone, but it's nailing me hard every time I play. Tonight my memory usage hit 1.44 gb of RAM.
And the mission selection bug.
The emote bugs also recently introduced (boombox, slap, etc).
There are so many, many, many bugs that BABs himself said it's not possible to track and create an accurate, up-to-date document of a known issues list for us.

It can't ever be the "Here are all of the bugs we know about" list because our bug tracking database literally has tens of thousands of 'known issues'. Some have been fixed, some aren't actually bugs, many are duplicates of bugs, etc. There's no reasonable way anyone could parse through our bug database and condense it into a list on a regular basis. Even updating it with a list of things that we know about and have already fixed is problematic and requires the people who fix things to manually tell someone to update the list. So the likeliehood of the known issues list ever being up to the minute and comprehensive is slim to none. It can certainly be more comprehensive and up to the date that it currently is, but it'll always be something that's managed ad hoc.

Adding more to my list, in case you are unfamiliar with these known bugs/issues:
The chat bug where /tells and /help send broken portions of the name and nothing of the text. In tells the only way to respond is to type /r hitting backspace does not work. In help there is no way to know who send the message. This has been going on for months now.
Global chat connectivity. On most servers this is not a big problem most of the time, however on Virtue is a huge problem all of the time. Global channels reset, or become inoperative entirely for a time, and when they come back up they must be readded to chat tabs. This happens so much I have to readd them to my tabs several times an hour during peak times, and constantly during very busy times like double xp weekend. This has been going on so long I don't even remember when it started.
Mapservers. Disconnects. Crashes. Again, it's a lot worse on Virtue and has been going on so long I don't remember when it started, it has been several issues. It's not uncommon, when playing on Virtue, for an entire zone to crash, several times in a row. I've been there. It is very common, even in instanced missions, for the entire team to mapserver and freeze up, if you are unlucky you DC.
Zone in and freeze. When you zone into a mission or your base, you're frozen for several seconds.
These are the ones that really grate on my nerves the most. I'm sure others can add to the list. -

I hope you don't mean all players' eyes, because there are plenty of folks that don't care one way or the other about changes to badges, or changes to crafting, or any other little change you can name. As has been said by many, everyone's idea of fun is different. There are few changes that affect everyone.

I don't think anyone likes the mission selection bug. -

way under priced at 1 merit per 12 minutes
[/ QUOTE ]
For those of us who like to actually play through the mission, and not stealth through every stealthable objective, it works out to be worse than that.
I don't know how you could fairly balance the stealth/invis and finish it fast vs fight-fight-fight crowd, it's similar to the speed TF argument. I would suggest at least increasing the story arc merits in many cases, the amounts awarded are anemic, and finding some mechanism to reward teammembers on story arcs. -
Has this thread been pruned (severely) or is something wonky?
Today is the 27th, the last post showing to me is the 6th, however the main forum page shows one for today, and I know there were some from last night and today. -
Also missing from the patch notes:
The ability to delete empowerment buffs has been removed.
Good luck getting Fabricator through empowerment buffs. -

Shouldn't that be an Ascendant Archon?
Council Ascendants are The Center's personal guard. They're very rare, and don't even show up until the mid 20's I believe.
The first time I ever saw one was the mission to defeat Maestro in Striga Isle.
They do occasionally spawn as the end boss in Council Radio/Newspaper missions also.
These are the Galaxy soldiers.
[/ QUOTE ]
It's neither, it's a mob called "Galaxy Archon" that looks like a combination of the two. I took a screenshot with the UI and posted. The link is fixed now (no longer my entire photobucket album :blush). -

Is what new? Your entire photo gallery?
I'm confused.

Okay on this change, something else needs to be done as well. Without the Reformed Badge, the RWZ mission to defeat Longbow is now senseless.
Why defeat them when there's no credit for doing so?
Mission either needs to be scrapped all together or change the npc enemy in the mission.
The way it is currently, there's no sense to do this mission.
[/ QUOTE ]
The story in Gaussian's arc required getting the badge for it to make sense?
I don't think so. In fact, I think it's safe to say that most players didn't do that arc expecting to get the Reformed badge. Defeating a thousand Longbow takes more than one run through those missions.
[/ QUOTE ]
That's why I was doing it over and over and over and over and over and over... you get the idea... only to find out that all the time I'd been doing that, this had already been nerfed and none of it counted. -
[ QUOTE ]
Master Craftsman isn't impossible for a character to get sub-40, especially if they are crafting for most of their levelling. That series of badges counts ANY use of a crafting table (converting base salvage as well), and the other badges needed for the Accolade get you almost halfway to Master Craftsman on their own.
[/ QUOTE ]
I would put this in my signature, but it makes the signature too long with what I have to have in there now.
Consider it quoted for good measure.
What does Positron have to say about this? -
Playing on Virtue tonight, City of Heroes was eating up 1,370,428k of memory.
That's not good. -

We are currently investigating this issue. It does look like a patch note was missed in regards to brainstorm ideas not translating to badge counts. We are looking further at whether the overall badges have been affected by this change.

Patch note missed sounds like "working as intended". And let me guess, the devs will not choose to comment on this either.

Why the Badger bashing? Are Badgers the new PvPers? Are we to be the next segment of the population revamped and alienated?
Color meat this and the Longbow stealth changes. 'Missed patch note' or not, to me this change is indefensable and unacceptable, just like the Longbow badge change.
I felt the PvPers' pain over I-13, now I am really feeling their pain. And their anger. -
Oh, just in case... I tested this:
Crafing enhancements still counts for the crafting badges. -

converting Base Salvage to Brainstorms and Brainstorms to Invention Salvage no longer counts towards crafting badges like Artisan, etc.

Tested: Empowerment buffs [u]do still count[u] for the crafting badges.

Missing Patch Note:
Converting Base Salvage to Brain Storms or Brain Storms to Invention Salvage no longer counts towards crafting badges (Master Artisan, etc)
[/ QUOTE ]
If true...that's freaking outrageous. It really is. It's particularly egregious because in the loss of base salvage, one of the key ways of getting master artisan was converting invention salvage to components.
This needs to be confirmed, or denied, and if confirmed, "the developers have decided not to comment on this" will not be even remotely acceptable.

I'll test this NOW.
Stand by.
