I can't raid this weekend; busy last night, Sat, or Sun night.
So.... Monday night at 9pm to set the stage for the 5th Anniversary celebration on Tuesday! -
[ QUOTE ]
Wow I cant believe that folks are having issues with the time thing......
its starts at 11 am which is in the morning and before noon....have folks forgotten that (not am) and that 12 AM is in fact MIDNIGHT? The event will last from (not noon), thus giving us 13 HOURS and NOT ONE HOUR! Come on folks seriously........
[/ QUOTE ]
Not everyone is on the east coast. The people on the west coast are going to see this end at 9pm their time, just a few hours after they come home that night.
That's why the concern. I'm on the East Coast and am a housewife, I can set aside much of the day by planning ahead and play for the event. Most people can't and, by golly, that is just too bad? An event that is meant for the players is scheduled in such a way that the majority of them will have little opportunity to participate. -
Completely covered by text in the picture...
Add me to the list of people concerned about the majority of the playerbase who will be either at work or in school for the majority of this event. And by opening this up to inactive and trial accounts it is going to ensure server overload and lockout on busy servers. -
If MA was only about farms then story-driven arcs wouldn't be seeing play time, and that simply is not the case. I don't just mean the Dev's Choice arcs, I'll also use my own arc as an example - 33 plays as of tonight - and it's definitely not a farm. Try it and see (in my sig).
Yes, it is true that there is a lot of farming going on. I expect that as time goes on that this will become less of an issue as the developers nerf the worst of the farm tactics and many players grow bored with it (not everyone farming now is a die-hard farmer, they're enticed by getting fast tickets to unlock content or level up some character that has been languishing).
It's also not true that MA is killing existing game content. If you watch global channels dedicated to Task Forces and such you'll see that those are still going on, and that many players are dividing their time between MA and regular game content. I am. I'm currently running a Patron story arc on a villain and the RWZ story arc on a hero as well as trying MA story arcs.
Be patient, MA is new and shiny. Players are trying it out and the developers are still working out the kinks. Don't cry doom. -

lvl 45 or higher, or have an actual Mentor. This would at least slow down the farmers.
[/ QUOTE ]
This would speed up the PLers and punish legitimate story arc content. -
I love feedback. I believe my story arc is much stronger now than when I first wrote it in open beta (first round of feedback) and thenpublished live (2nd round of feedback) because of feedback.
Being told about game bugs, having grammar and spelling errors I missed pointed out to me, suggestions on how to polish it up is extremely valuable. -
There are several problems with object placement, maps, and linear story arc progression.
[*]Front, back, and middle zones seem to overlap. Middle objectives spawning before front, etc. (The smaller the map, the harder it will be to get objectives to spawn and deliver clues in a linear fashion.)
[*]Tech maps are supposedly more buggy than others on spawn point locations.
[*]Outdoor maps ignore front, back, and middle entirely. Outdoor maps are one big zone and place objectives randomly.
[ QUOTE ]
This. It's my biggest stumbling block to writing a cohesive mission where object placement matters.
[/ QUOTE ]
Objective placement is second only to MA GUI instability in being a stumbling block for me. I've had to rewrite and rewrite my arc to try to overcome this, in the end I've had to compromise on making clue order more nebulous in one mission, consolidating clues, and living with the flat-out nasty problem of outdoor map placement that makes objectives in my final map potentially self-defeating. -

I want to thank everyone for supporting the MS raid Last night, Sorry for the one day turnaround but I had only saw the request on Saturday afternoon. Glad we had an awesome turn out.
[/ QUOTE ]
Thanks Valor, Vaxy, and all for a great run on Sunday. I lost count of the merits once our team pulled in over 500. The extra bubbler (whoever you are, you are awesome) allowed us to cap defense for almost everyone, so it made it a relatively safe run.
The weekends seem to bring out a good crowd. Any chance we can schedule another run for next weekend? I'm still 300 short of grabbing the last goodies for my favorite MM at the moment.
[/ QUOTE ]
I'll talk to Valor and Vaxin (and my husband about our schedule, heh) to see what we can come up with. -
I'm an LBx mod, I'll start putting the mothership raids into the MOTD.

My biggest concern is why are there isn't any feedback on lower star ratings?
[/ QUOTE ]
A combination of pain in the butt griefing and some people living in mortal fear of their global being visible and getting one-starred in return.
[/ QUOTE ]
Bingo. Rating anything less than 5 stars and providing feedback risks that player 1-starring you just because they're a jerk without their even playing your arc. -
I'm going to talk to Valor and Vaxin and see if we can schedule one for this week. I need to plan ahead to clear out a specific evening time window as that is usually when I'm finishing cooking dinner and washing dishes and to let my hubby know that dinner is going to be early that night.

Oh no, please say this is a bad dream! How can we go on without our Ex?
I hope that you will stay with us as a player, the Community cannot afford to lose you entirely. You would leave an Ex sized hole in our hearts. -

Crumbs, I missed it. I was at Bible Study.
We must hold another one soon. Ohhh Vaxy and Valor, let's set a date! -
Venture,
Whenever you have the opportunity please review my arc. Slice and dice it as appropriate, if I can improve it I would like to.
57352 The All-Seeing Eye (heroic, 5 missions) -
I got all the way through until sales verification and then error, no code. My bank is showing that the charge went through on my visa debit card.
If you're getting errored out at this stage (sales verification) be very sure that you aren't getting charged before you start repeatedly trying over again. You just might end up paying more than you bargained for.
I'll be submitting a ticket with support to sort it out, of course. -

An entire custom villain group where every mob -- minions, lieutenants, bosses, EBs, and AVs -- is an XXX/Ninjutsu Stalker set to 'Extreme' on both primary and secondary. After all, nothing expands a full team's enjoyment of a mission more than getting hit with multiple Assassin Strikes. Over and over and over again.
[/ QUOTE ]
I've run into this one. -
[ QUOTE ]
I agree with the "comment at any time, but only rate if arc completed" idea, hell - even just "only rate if at least the first mission is completed" would do wonders.
[/ QUOTE ]
I would agree except I have run into several story arcs where the first mission convinced me quite thoroughly that:
1. The arc had serious problems
2. I wouldn't enjoy it or couldn't complete it, so I didn't play it
So I quit and rated it and felt justified in doing so.
Example:
An arc with only a hint of story (not even a full sentence for the mission brief), all of the text typed in caps, typos, and a custom ill/wp? boss throwing out confuse, PA, decoys, and illusionist pets surrounded by arachnoids ... oh please, am I supposed to think that is going to get any better? -
Here's mine:

In copying from test to live the game wouldn't recognize it as a previously published arc and I had to publish from scratch and lose my ratings. -
For me a love story begins with the characters. If you haven't got that down, you have no story. The plot builds from there.
What do they need? What is it in them that is missing that the other completes? What is it that separates and can unite them? What stands against them? What them tick, individually and together? What made them that way? What can change them, for the better or worse?
Figure that out first, then figure out your story. You'll often find that the story begins writing itself. -
As much as I dislike what happened, let's please not discuss this issue here. I would rather not start a flame war on the boards.
Thank you for your support, Velkoth. As always, it is much appreciated. -

Thank you, Ice Knight, for posting and moving this for Vaxin, Valor, and me! And thank you to Dazz Marvelous of Champion for making the poster!
This thread has been stickied so we can more easily find our mothership raid times. -
I'm working on one now, The All-Seeing Eye. I have plans for another. I'll post when they are published and you can hammer at them.
