Lady Aminta, empath of some minor renown, signing up!

    - For goodness sake's, they wanna try EvE to get some perspective.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Eve doesn't have a learning curve, it has a learning wall.

    [/ QUOTE ]

With the words "YOU FAIL" written on it in the blood of newbies.

The chainguns could be horrendously expensive to run. At low levels of proficiency that is.

At high levels you did a lot more damage with them and the 'per round' cost was effectively a lot lower.

That said; elite rocket prices still stung a bit.

    [/ QUOTE ]
But you're referring more to the recent (past few weeks) red weapons, which used the higher/highest grades of ammo and seemed to be introduced mainly to help people to level quickly for the end event (though they were also a devs nod to many well known players).

Sorudo was talking about playing it a while back - before these red weapons existed, and so wasn't talking about trying to afford ammo for a red weapon as a lowbie.

Frankly even if the game was still going it would be a waste of time complaining about ammo costs for mega weapons that have effectively been included as part of the server shutdown event. Normal chainguns were more affordable, although they weren't always that way and tbh I was never their greatest fan!

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Ooops.

Should probably have said "skill pump" levels in my original post; I meant that on any chaingun.

    Oh well.

    Defiant Legends

    [ QUOTE ]
Too many to name, so easiest way is just to list the SG's I've been part of. Every single one has a legend of some sort that has made playing on Defiant a good'un

So a hip hip hurray to the legends of...

    Order of the Cruciform Swords
    Guild of Extreme Heroes
    The Elflings
    Libery Legion
    Legion Supreme
    UNIT ALPHA 01
    The Supernation (in moderation )

Oh and anyone who has my global handle is as much of a legend Fun stuff!

    [/ QUOTE ]

I'd add 47 Ties and GenericSuperGroup101 to those as Legends.

Also Aero (luckiest sonafableep for drops I ever met ), Dr.Edge and SGT. HAVOK along with BM himself
  5. Empath defs/trollers: "Watching your health bar so YOU don't have to!"
  6. This was a lot of fun and my 1st new style raid, even if all I did was stand on cowards hill and tp/res/buff (over and over and over )

Look forward to the next one!
  7. Steel Dancer

    Most inf!

Something like 150 mil after a run of absurdly lucky recipe drops, which lasted for about 3 minutes after buting some purple recipes.

    Firebug Badge..

There's meant to be a way to do it if the mission owner isn't in the mission so others can get the badge, (no, I don't know how) but if you're the mission owner & soloing I'm pretty sure you'd have to do the full 50 missions.
  9. Tabula had some great ones. Though I doubt we'd see /poledance anytime soon... o.O
  10. Ah, must have misread something then. Could've sworn there was something about where missions were set.

Blowed if I know where I saw it though
  11. Steel Dancer

    Seeya

Been on missions with you a few times Col. And you're a damn good player - hope to see you back real soon.

consistency and fulidity is gonna be the key for me to mark high (and only american spellings (yes i know they are in the game and it winds me up espically aboout "The Honouree (and yes it should have a "u" in it espically as hes waring a union flag) will not recieve nething higher than 3stars)

    [/ QUOTE ]

The only problem with that being that it wouldn't then be an anagram of Hero One of course...

Um, you may want to check your own spelling kettle before calling out the american pot

And if something needs a thousand votes plus, how will any of the villain missions ever get into HoF or Dev Choice? semi-serious on that, not sure what it's like in the US but over here teams, while gettable aren't exactly that common either.
  13. Friend of mine recommended it as a good entry level MMO, joined October '05 (can't believe it was that long ago...)

The friend who convinced me to join has long gone but I've managed to find some really great people to team with and SGs to join on both servers.

Also, most games have forum(s).XXXX.com as their forum part, for many easier to get to. Why not do the same here? :?

    [/ QUOTE ]

    *looks at url uk.boards.cityofheroes.com*

    *looks more confused than normal*

I don't find these boards that scary, especially compared to some... most other forums.

I just don't post often because (1) I'm lazy, and (2) I try to keep my my inanity to a managable level.

Still hiring for CoX by the looks of things. Sexy Jay got his very own minion just a week ago or so.

    ...what?

    [/ QUOTE ]

What's with the wig and boa? Are we missing something that happened off camera?

    [/ QUOTE ]

I believe that's the effect of what's called 'alcohol'. Possibly in conjunction with the words 'lots of'.

As for my reign of terror, I only use my Moderating Hammer of Truth and JusticeĀ™ very sparingly...honest!

    [/ QUOTE ]

Apply it excessively. From orbit. It's the only to be sure.
  19. Playing an Engineer (turrets, turrets and moving mines! BWAHHHAHAHAH!) which is a lot of fun. the logos can be a pain as Gangrel says, especially with the fast levelling.

I just wish they'd given the game more advertising, one of the main things that put me off in beta and early gameplay was the hellish crafting - I never knew about the changes to that and everything else til the free return after cancellation

    Delraven in game, btw

Thanks for the well wishes, everyone.

My position is 'potentially redundant' within the Brighton office, and at the current time I intend to accept voluntary redundancy. I'm not interested in living in the US.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Ah sh...sugar. Sorry to hear this and hope you and and all others affected find new positions soon.
  22. Two ideas of similar enough nature to go in one post

    1. A slider to alter the amount of exp you receive. The max being the normal awards with the ability to reduce it on a percentage scale down to zero.

EG you put the slider to 50% and only receive 50% of your normal exp. This just feels a bit more elegant than full or no exp.

    2. A slider to alter the amount of debt you receive. The minimum being the normal amount received with the ability to increase it on a percentage scale up to, say 200% of standard.

This is more for the debt badges and the accolades than anything else in all honesty (or for people who really want to be punished for failure ), or (using both options) for people who want to go through content without using Ouroborous all the time.
  23. Blonde Justice
My 1st 50. Blind Justice was unavailable so I thought "well, she's blonde..." She does the hero thing simply because it's the right thing to do.

    Lady Aminta
2nd 50. Recycled the name from an NPC char I created for a PnP campaign (Cleric of Mishakal). Names derived from the greek for protector/defender

    Tess LaOoyle
Not from the C&C series, i'd just seen a doc about Nikolai Tesla. Spelling is "just because"

    Steel Dancer
Decided to give Dual Blades and Willpower a go as an experiment, decided the character lives in Steel Canyon and from what I'd seen of the DB moves thought Dancer worked well. Ended up being probably my toughest character and my most fun to play.

    Adorable
Girlfriend of a Hellion who got fed up of twits in leotards jumping up and down on her boyfriend and decided to get her own back with her own gang (thugs/ff MM)

    Blast Pulse
Wanted to properly try a corruptor, decided on fire/rad as being one of the more versatile ones. Named her Blast for the fire/ and Pulse for the /rad, hit on the idea that she was one of the Nuclear 90 and never looked back

Dark Champion My SoA on both Union and Defiant. Was very surprised to get the name on one, let alone both.
  24. This was great fun, although I really did have a "dear lord what have we unleashed" moment when I saw just how many critters we'd spawned.

I crashed about 10 seconds after that thought.
