No way. Too many people would abuse cutscenes by making an hour and a half long list of text for the scene itself. which, short of ctrl+alt+del locks you into the mish without any escape.

Yeah! Turbans and yarmulkahs and shtreimels! Mantillas and wimples and capello romano!
That way we can insult all religions equally when we put them on our characters that are made specifically for comedic purpose!
I'd also love some curly payot for men. That way it's easier to tell who is jewish.
/sarcasm
Division makes derision easier. I really hope no ethnic or nationalist items are put into the game. I don't wanna be rescued by Hannukah Harry only to find out that the White Knight is after him and Uncle Tom, both.

A Super Speeder and a Flight User racing across an open expanse of totally flat land. The Speeder wins.
A Super Speeder and a Flight User racing across an urban environment with obstacles, hills, and buildings.
A Much more even race.

The only problems I can see with ANY White Elephant is that
A) Making them good enough to keep attention for weeks or months on end.
B) Making them useful without leading to easier gameplay (more farming, more money, inf sink becomes 'required')
So the only thing I can really see being USED for a White Elephant is Fluff that's nice to have but not -needed-.

Not the current costume packs, Siggy.
New ones. Different and just as neat. Heck even sell single costume pieces.
Like a hat pack which lets you use different hair under it. Or a new set of capes, auras, etc.
Not the Micro-payment packs. New stuff AFTER the Origin Packs are done

-Res is almost definitely a no-go. =-( It's just too powerful against common foes.
-Dam I could see being used..?
Though I -definitely- wouldn't mind at least one of the (defensive) toggles being a target -res(all) caster +dam(All) for another 'attack' set like Shields! My shield tanker is almost 50 and I've loved the trip! I stopped at 36 and 40 to turn off my XP for the maximum amount of awesome time! =-3

I dunno... -Def or a Minor Toxic DoT wouldn't be out of the question? Perhaps some powers offering -def and others giving DoTs? Or just a higher level of DoT than Spines would normally have, since Rad would lack the -spd. And it would be different from fire based on the amount of fire resistance in the game compared to toxic res.
So yea. WANT Rad Melee and Rad Defense! =-3

How about creating a new (small) building interior of an office with Calvin Scott in it. It's there ALL THE TIME, but noone knows where it is, really.
If you're on the Oroborous Calvin Scott TF he's the Calvin Scott of the past, bigging for your help.
If you're NOT on the Oro TF then he's just Calvin Scott, guy working at his desk in an office building and the only way to find him is to KNOW Where he is or randomly find him by clicking the doors of every office building in Paragon.

Would they work in this game? Special items that are put into the base which cost a certain amount of inf to maintain? So long as they don't cause people's power levels to go out of whack I don't see why not?
How about a Base Teleporter that is functionally identical to the Mac Edition Mission Teleporter... But it costs influence to buy, influence to build, and prestige to place. And then each use of the thing takes a certain amount of influence scaled to player level.
How about the Devs opening up a poll based on inf for new zones. Want your name on a specific street, building, or part of the zone? Suggest it and put down an Inf donation. In game it would be superheroes (or villains) endorsing the construction (or intimidating the builders into putting a name THEY like on it)
Have the poll last 2-3 weeks with a running tally on the amount of inf put on each idea. Any amount put into the poll is gone. Even if you don't win you don't get it back.
Either have it do a lottery on the winer or a straight tally for highest total. Or the Devs can take the top 3-5 and pick one so we don't wind up with BeZZleBuB's B00B tOwEr.
How about selling costume packs IN GAME on a per-character basis with exorbitant prices on them?
just some Inf Sink ideas...
-Rachel- -
I'm sick and tired of this. I've got 5 people sending me PMs over how the farming situation isn't contributing to inflation, how inflation has nothing to do with the amount of money in the system, that the money entering the system is totally stable, just like the amount of recipes...
I'm sick of it.
Someone who will remain nameless sent me a PM about the market price fluctuations and we got into it over the casual gamer versus the hardcore gamer... So here's a nice money sink.
Devs? Start selling an infinite amount of every recipe and every bit of salvage at a set price for a 3 week period once every six months. Sell it where you think the prices should be.
That's it. That's all.
All the money that goes to the Dev accounts should be liquidated immediately afterward, destroyed by deleting the character.
The prices for the three weeks will bottom out, since the Devs recipes will be selling BELOW the hyperinflated prices the community is used to. Casual gamers won't need to farm money, and the market will be a happier place.
Flipping will be nearly impossible, of course...
-Rachel- -
My problem, Sharker, is that no matter what we do about the current going rates on items on the market we will still get more and more influence entering the system. Seriously. I wish the Devs had a 'kill money' button to just STOP people from gaining inf for a few days, or do a 2% per level cut on straight inf gain for a few weeks.
Sure, people'd get pissed, but at least SOME of the giant mountain of Inf might have a chance to cycle itself down a little.
But it's not gonna happen at all.
This thread was an alternative suggestion to the 'Lemme Farm!' padding suggestion posted by two different posters within a few days of each other.
Thank you for your efforts to fix the prices, but yeah. It's just gonna keep piling on, infinitely.
-Rachel- -
...
I give up. Lock the thread, Mod8. Or purge it.
-Rachel- -
Actually... The issue is you're encouraging the more common types of farms.
The best 'farms' out there are fighting the banished pantheon, CoT Behemoths, Freakshow, Family, and Carnies in large open areas where many of them spawn in large numbers.
These missions are all Contact-based missions.
The only way to slow down or stop out of Architect farming is not letting the mission reset. Having missions tied to the owner's account so that no matter how many times he logs in the mission is at the same level of completeness.

Except that the purples LEAVE the market as people buy them, craft them, and slot them.
The Influence stays in the market and trades hands over and over and over again before the last bit is taken up bythe market fees at 10-15% per transaction.
The purples leave the market, the influence stays in it.
More purples enter the market and are purchased, crafted, and slotted. But MORE influence enters the market.
The math is simple.
Now... as for the Ticket issue. When you're grinding tickets you're gaining influence, but you're not gaining purples, are you? You're rolling on weighted tables for really good IO recipes, but not purples. But even so, that's more inf hitting the market.
-Rachel- -
I think the only thing in the 'attack' subset is the three main attacks listed...
However on the Bots MM thing...
A Necro/FF MM has about the same set-up for abuse of -acc +def to the Bots/FF with Dark primary. Sure the Bots MM also gets protector bubbles, but they're less powerful AND he gets Seeker Drones.
I think it balances well. =-3
I'd love to see this implemented, personally. I'd love to make a Necromancer Mastermind with a bow or dual-pistols. As it is I tend to get in the rut of RPing my minions as being something 'else' because we only have the five sets. If I want a Dark Blastermind for example I have to have zombies, even if I'd rather have Street Thugs (skulls) who respec my command over darkness.
-Rachel- -
C'mon, Devs! Give this man a Moon zone! It's his birthday!!!
Happy Birthday, Briggs!
-Rachel- -
Unfortunately they will not even out.
The rate at which infamy is gained on a farm is -nearly- constant, give or take a few thousand influence.
The amount of Purple Recipes picked up on a farm is randomized. You might get one on your first attempt, you might not get one after a week of farming.
The 'Even Out' argument fails due to mathematical simplicity. Constant increase outpaces random gain, always.
-Rachel- -
I think it was funny! I know I was laughing when I wrote up my post! :P
-Rachel- -
I'd be okay with them costing 10k each >.>
-Rachel-
PS. The 9999 ticket limit is the point of the 10k ticket cost joke, Blasta. >.> -
WANT Rad/Rad
Want Dark Control
Okay with having Electrical Control
WANT TOXIC BLAST! Also want Poison for Corrupters >.>
Illussory aura would be cool?
