    A Teaming Badge

I only -rarely- post with sarcasm, JW.Most of what I put up is straight. =-3

    A Teaming Badge

I think it's a great idea to make a teaming badge, just to clutter up the system more. It doesn't hurt anyone to have them or NOT to have them....

Make them 'Joined a Team' 'Formed a Team'

Then make two lines of badges

'Completed a Mission on a Team'
    and
    'Quit a Team Mid-mission'

That way you can show off how awesomely rock-solid you are about completing missions even if you -hate- the PUG members who scooped you up. It also shows who can't be trusted to stick with it for the whole Task Force.

    Oh! Two more badge-lines.

Kicked from Team and Team Kicker.

Just to make it easier to avoid chronically bad players like the plague.

  4. Honestly? I don't care about this issue at all.

They have expanded the Dev team -massively-. And so long as they don't start randomly firing them that means more money is going into CoH than has been for several years. It means that now we've got more designers and map editors, and power analyzers, and so on and so forth.

Assuming they all get between 40 and 90k per year in a salary we can pay -all- of their paychecks in a few months for the entire -year-. What do we expect the rest of the multiple millions we're putting into NCSoft's pockets to go? Hiring on -new- Devs? We've got 50ish and they're still hiring, aren't they?

We, as players, put about 18 million dollars into NCSoft's coffers on a yearly basis -jst- through subscriptions (assuming 100k players flat and $15 each) Assuming an AVERAGE of $50,000 a year per Developer and 50 Developers that's 2.5 million a year. Costs to maintain and upgrade (replace?) servers, Office Space and Supplies, Employee Events (such as team meetings in exotic locales or group vacations/meetings in Korea) and much much more would -still- cost about 5 million dollars combined with the employee salaries. That's spending 50k a -year- per employee on trips, office space, computer equipment, training...

So assuming that $5,000,000 a year goes into the CoH Dev team pocket for all their expenses over the course of the year that leaves NCSoft with a (are you ready for this?) $13,000,000 PROFIT. What are they gonna do with $13,000,000 a year off the CoH Franchise? Bank it? Or spend it to develop a new Golden Egg for the company?

    Which would -you- do.

  5. My favorite use of Force Bubble? Head to Mercy Island, get near one of the slanted-roof buildings and turn it on. So long as you've got level 1 enemies right next to you they get launched MASSIVE distances off the 'ramp'.

    Way Cool!
    -Rachel-
  6. Oh! One more!

Hurl, when used by a character with a Shield. It's a one-handed smack down with a big ol' chunk of rock. Sooooo awesome!

In Melee it looks like you're bashing them over the head, at range it's not as neat, but still cool!

    -Rachel-
  7. I find it funny that you were adamant about the spelling of Color (Colour being the spelling in England and most of Europe while Americans spell it sans U) yet you ignored the spelling of Ridiculous and instead spelled it Rediculous. You also skipped over Capitalization of your first letter in the first sentence.

  8. Let's see...

Knockout Blow (For reasons already discussed)

Telekinetic Blast: One of my all time favorite attacks. Ever. Just a quick extension of the arm to throw up your palm and WHAM! The enemy goes flying. No special effects, no pink rings flying across the screen. Just a sharp gesture and someone goes flying. Especially awesome near Ledges or when an enemy flees.

Lift. Similar to KO Blow it's fun to just fling enemies about, carelessly. Sometimes I'll take my level 34 Grav/Kin to Atlas just to fling Hellions into the sky. Slotted for KB, BTW! =-3

Vengeful Slice. I always think of this attack as my 'Sword-ryuken' I Love how the character does the upper-cut KU followed by the cross-slash spin on the way back down. Truly epic and full of Win. =-3

Shield Charge. Epic. And Full of Win. I'm still trying to convince myself to make an Elec/Shield Brute so I can Shield-charge + Lightning Rod.

    -Rachel-
  9. What Whisper said.

Personally I'd -prefer- that. So if I've got a fire blaster at level 30 I can show she's gone from 'Normal and Talkative' to 'Eyes on Fire ready for combat" without having two costumes taken up.

    -Rachel-
  10. I'm kinda curious as to what character in this game you can create who is like that...

I mean -sure-. You can -choose- to only take one power from a non-buffing set as, say, a Defender. But you've still got attacks available to you.

So this character from comics with virtually no attacks at all is irrelevant.

    Sorry! Sorry!

I'm just a big Steamtech fan when it comes to games and media. And reality. I like the smell and the look and the feel of a well oiled machine or an antique music-box. With mahogany paneling in a brilliant finish, polished brass gears spinning in an endless dance against each other to turn the roller and send the chimes ringing... *sighs*

But I also like the harsher side of coal and smoke and ash burning in a boiler, driving an engine, pumping and turning faster and faster until it seems like it might -explode-!

I'm just a Steampunker, after all.

That had to be one of the sexiext posts I have ever seen.

You don't look like Abbey on NCIS do you?

Taller, broader shoulders, longer face (almond-shaped) with a narrower nose, sharper jawline, and higher eyebrows. Glasses, brown hair (about the same length, though layered) Darker eyes, smaller mouth *pout* bigger chest (by a lot >.&gt and no piercings.

    Short Answer: No.

  16. It's true. in the most classic sense of the phrase that I'm aware of.

City of Heroes -died- when the Architect went live. And a New CoH was crowned. Nothing much else has changed.

The population spiked, then dipped (as it usually does when an issue drops) people used the new toy incessantly for a few weeks, then got back to the normal game, for the most part. And nothing changed.

It's just like royalty. A King dies and the new King is crowned, 2-3 weeks of celebration, then it's back to business as usual.

What don't people get about his? It happened when Kheldians came out (EVERYONE made Kheldians if they had the option) Then the Arena, then Villains, then the PvP zones, and so on and so forth.

There will be -some- members of the community that keep tinkering with the new toy. Like the Arena PvPers, Kheldian Players, SoA players, etc. But ultimately the vast majority of the game's population will go back to what they were doing beforehand.

PuGs are back on track, so are Task Force teams and PuG TFs. I play mostly on Virtue and Pinnacle, with a little dabbling on Guardian. I think I've got a -fairly- decent cross section of high and low population servers. I play at pretty random hours (As early as 8am, as late as 3am CST depending on my schedule)

The game is about the same as it's ever been.

Architect has killed CoH. Long Live CoH!

    -Rachel-
  17. But the Architect only gives tickets on mish complete, not XP. And the failable part is right up at the front, so you don't lose a lot of potential tickets by choosing to fail.

    -Rachel-
  18. So far my favorite 'Branching Path' arc is one my boyfriend made.

    Generation S

You're fighting against a Vigilante hero named Sovreign and his allies Shocklet, Pietra, Snowflake, and Maelstrom.

    SPOILER WARNING

You start out on a Call to a Crey facility where a group of outcasts, trolls, and Skulls are killing Crey employees by the dozen. You learn over the next several missions that the 'Villain" in charge of them is actually a hero gone rogue. The hero team Generation S is made up of people who believe the only way to succeed at defeating evil is to destroy it utterly.

They became disillusioned after coming across the Revenant Hero Project, and some fun stuff on Malta.

However it's not just them. They've recruited outcasts, skulls, trolls, rogue arachnos, freakshow, and others to their cause of stomping out the evil in the world.

And now they want to recruit you.

In the final mission you have 2 options. In the former you can fail the mission, intentionally, which gives you a different end-text from the contact. Or you can go on and complete the mission for a whole other ending.

    SPOILER OVER

Frame it right and it seems like a choices/branching dialog. =-3

My friends who think WOW is the best game are bragging to me how they have motorcycles. How does it make sense that WOW has Motorcycles and COH doesn't?

    [/ QUOTE ]
    /em boggle

WoW has motorcycles?!? That has got to be the stupidest thing I have ever heard about that game... and I have heard some pretty stupid things.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Oh Come On!

They've got Goblins and Gnomes making Rockets, Bazookas, Cars with robotic arms attached, Robotic walking chickens you can purchase as a mount. Dynamite and other explosives in the hands of players.

What's so unbelievable about a big, smog-spewing motorcycle? When was C4 invented sometime in the mid to late 20th century, while Motorcycles came some 20-40 years earlier.

But you complain about the motorcycles? How about the airships? Toy Trains?

Either you accept that the game is a mixed back of genres doing it's best to fight off all comers, or you don't. But don't be -shocked- about it.

    -Rachel-
  20. Skip Purples, then. Head for the Oranges.

Reduce the incoming damage as best you can. =-3

    -Rachel-
  21. It still doesn't work.

You have to have the vehicle model. Character animation while driving. Character and Vehicle model animation when turning, jumping, reversing. Character attack animations while in the vehicle. Character defensive animations while in the vehicle. Character hit animations while in the vehicle. Character death animation(s) while in the vehicle.

Then multiply that work by 3. One 'Male' version one 'Female' version, then ensuring the male version works for Huge characters.

THEN You can start in on scaling to character size so 8 foot tall monsters and 3 foot tall 'Little people' can all drive as well.

    It's not gonna happen.
    -Rachel-

    Change to crabs

The game, however, describes the extreme surgery for the Tarantula.

For Crabs it just describes powerful powered armor.

    -Rachel-
  23. Steampunkette

    Change to crabs

Oh. I accept that the game won't allow for it, right now. I'd -like- for there to be a workaround. Perhaps setting up Dual-Builds as 'dropping' the powers off the character until the build is restored, thus unflagging the 'Crab Powers?' question.

I just hate it when people tell me that all crab spiders are surgically grafted to their weapons. It's stupid to think that powered armor = extreme surgery.

    That's all.
    -Rachel-
  24. Steampunkette

    Change to crabs

Link me to that information, GoliathBirdEater. By all means.

I happen to RP my own Crab Spider as having finely-tuned controls inside her gloves that allow her, with quite a bit of training, to control the arms.

Until I see the Dev-approved Canon on those things being surgically grafted I'll just ignore anyone who demands my crab work that way.

    -Rachel-
  25. Steampunkette

    Change to crabs

So Dual-Build to drop it? Either that or drop it onto groups your team hasn't aggroed yet. Sure you run the risk of a Double-pull, but the Taunt-Aura from the bomb ensures that the pull will come late in the fight, rather than a massive clusterbump of damage.

I'd like to propose a separate change to Crabs.

Get rid of the F-ing backpack when I dual-build into a Bane-spec! I can't -have- 'Off Duty' clothes with the giant spider legs sticking out of my lower spine. So please grant me the concession of dual-building into plain-clothes! >_<
