This however, is NOT dependent on the sexuality, or sex of a player character. Switching genders or bodytypes is not inherrently sexually related in that sense. Therefore, there is nothing about switching gender that is covered in your definition of "mature"

This is a canard, and everyone knows it. For everyone that does something like "petite woman in huge battlesuit" there will be ten others using gender-swapping for ERP.

    [/ QUOTE ]
That's shockingly... Wait. No it isn't! It's classic Venture! =-3

/ignore on the "ERP" crowd. Most of them don't do whatever they do in local or broadcast aside from -hilarious- mistells, anyway. There is nothing inherently sexual about the function itself. Only in the mind of a player does it become perverse. Which isn't a -game- issue. It's a player issue.

Perhaps Monday night we can do it around 7 or 8pm CST? Anyone who is interested, sign up here!

  4. Soon. Hehe... Probably as soon as possible... Tonight, maybe? We're not sure we'll have the MA/Will scrapper online at all. =-(

    -Rachel-
  5. What are the odds that there's a group of people online right now who can help an Archery/Nrg blaster, a Will/Mace Tanker, a Katana/SR scrapper, and an MA/Will Scrapper take down the ITF?

I need the Roman Gear for my elven archer and we've been stymied twice on PuGs... Any ideas/suggestions/volunteers? We're level 38-39

Thank you, Masque, for bringing the PvPEC's points to the table. Primarily that G_F doesn't represent the group and secondarily that this sort of activity is frowned upon.

-Unfortunately- I'm sure things of this nature will continue to happen. Whether it's another trolling attempt or a flamewar or even an accidental breaking of the rules. People on the forum will see the PvPEC tag and attribute the negative connotations of the poster as being typical for a PvP player and thus for a member of the PvPEC.

That's thanks to the negative stereotype spread by so very very many members of the PvP community who have -left- thanks to the i13PvP alterations. But the stigma remains.

I'd suggest asking each member of the Commitee to put the following signature on their forum accounts.

    Or something to that effect.

I should hope we're all smart enough to realize this without a disclaimer.

    [/ QUOTE ]

It would be nice... But it's unlikely. There's a reason infomercials and political specials and so forth are often prefaced by a black screen with white lettering that states "The views expressed in this show are not indicative of the views of our company, employees, or subsidiaries" or something to that effect.

The human mind looks for patterns. Some do it more readily than others. But if a whole lot of people are posting flamewars and trolls there's no connection. Put a tag such as PvP on one or more and suddenly the connection springs to the foreground.

Hence the suggestion of the disclaimer.

  9. Well you've gotta take into account that MOST Transgenders tend to go into hiding ASAP. Keeps them from getting insulted, people asking difficult or uncomfortable questions, and in some cases beatings and murder.

They just go right into the woodwork. Specifically any with passability. They let the obviosly transitioned members of the community draw attention while they live their lives, happy and free from persecution.

I've met and become friends with at least six gender dysphoric people over CoH in the past 5 years on Virtue. And that's not even the core LGBT Server...

  10. Quick Reply

I'm well aware of several definitions for Libertine.

I've had to tell people what I meant before. And while she -is- a horrendous flirt (being in her late teens) mostly she's a Hedonist. She sleeps in late, eats too much, blows of schoolwork for heroing (which is -fun-!) and so forth.

So, no, Libertine Lass is not a common harlot frequenting the darker, seedier portions of the Pocket D. Though she -does- go there, sometimes, to dance with her friends. On Virtue.

    Just nothing nasty. :P

I expect every one of my characters with the Pink Pom-Poms of Doom will be getting those changed.

Other than that, it depends on exactly how it's implemented.

If it's just a list of pre-selected choices for the entire powerset, it'll depend on the choices.

If it's the full range available in the Costume Creator . . . the possibilities boggle the mind. And if it's for individual powers, I don't know it'll be until I actually play the game again!

    Captain ZZapp's getting blue-white lightning.

ATARU (AR/NRG Military Combat Robot Prototype) is getting the brightest red effects I can give him.

If Archery/Trick Arrow can color the arrows (which would surprise the heck out of me), Jade Dart's going to have actual green arrows.

    [/ QUOTE ]
    If it's individual powers..? Wow...

Libertine Lass would be rerolled. She was my 'All American' heroine. Born on the Fourth of July she flung fireworks at enemies. I'd totally alter every fire blast power to a different color.

    -Rachel-
  12. I think that's what it was, BBQ.

So a level 41 standing in the same mish as a level 50 who was fighting level 53s. The level 41 would gain XP as if fighting enemies that were +12 from their level.

If it's been knocked down to +8 that's helpful. =-3

Purple Patch, Warwolves getting ranged attacks, aggro-caps keeping people from herding Brickstown into a Dumpster, etc. The changes haven't ever been instantaneous. Often they're far slower than many would like. But they do happen.

    -Rachel-
  13. If I remember correctly it -used- to be that you could stand at the door even -further- from the highest level member of the team... Was it -9 to the leader which would be spawns of +12 to you, on an 8 man team of 7 people standing at the door whilst a Fire/Fire tanker slaughtered everything in the mission alone and unaided, without even using Inspirations.

    Perhaps my memory is flawed..?

That explains a lot. He says acts out here because his brother-in-law would beat the crap out of him for doing at at home... while wearing a dress.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Wait, his brother-in-law is gay?

So is his sister married to an openly gay man, or is his brother gay as well?

    [/ QUOTE ]

If he's married then his wife's brother could be gay?

That would imply that he's of marriage age, which I strongly doubt.

He -did- remark on having kids. So I won't rule it out completely, regardless of my opinion of the person.

"He" in the above sentence was used as a genderless pronoun while still inferring human sentience rather than an object, otherwise "It" would have been more appropriate.

sounds awesome! Unfortunately it does appear more and more that Going Rogue isn't coming until next year, bummer that.

It's just the end of June now. Six months left in the year, they've been working on this for how long now? Long enough to get some preliminary screenshots, mention that I16 is not the same as Going Rogue and some of the plans involved...

Other than chronic pessimism, I see nothing to say it's *not* going to be sometime this year. Late this year? I'd believe that, sure.

Regardless. Yeah. G_F has gotten himself a hole so deep that the PvPEC are currently PMing each other about what to do about the problem.

I expect them to post in this thread, soon, to resolve the issue.

The devs view farming as a problem. To them, it harms the game and the community, period.

This is therefore solving the wrong problem.

    This.

Though it should be noted that the Devs are less against 'Farming' and more against Exploitation of any sort.

  20. I'm wondering that, too... I'm also wondering why so many people hate crossdressers and transgenders. I've helped a few friends transition over the years and they're good people. I even went to Thailand with a friend to help her get her operations and got my facial reconstruction at the same time (Bad car accident a few years back)

If a teenager can't understand or be exposed to alternate sexualities while -learning- Sex Ed in middle school (in some states: Elementary school) then there is something terribly wrong.

If you're morally opposed to the idea of crossdressing or gender dysphoria: Fine! But you'd best lock yourself in a basement somewhere surrounded by cats and statues of whatever religious icon your pray to, because it's been around for centuries and it's becoming more and more socially acceptable.

Take a look here. It's a list of transgendered people. Some are relatively unimportant (like a Mexican immigrant who died in a detention facility) Others are Neurobiologists, Game Designers, Physicists, Actors and Actresses, Musicians, Entrepreneurs, Lawyers, and much much more.

Perhaps you should -teach- your child about these things rather than sheltering him or her from them and becoming irate or upset when your child is exposed to concepts and has no idea how to handle them.

  22. Blue Steel of the Heroes. He's got a pretty tragic background -and- he's a symbol of justice. Sure you've got all the other Heroes. But he's a -cop- with Super Powers.

Mako for Villains. For all the reasons above and because he's visually interesting. And naked. The fact that he's naked helps. :P

    -Rachel-
  23. I disagree.

I'm sure you're right on the money as to when Ish 15 will launch or -very- close.

I also think you're terribly close on when issue 16 will launch.

However. Going Rogue is not Issue 16. It's an expansion that the Dev team have been working on since Issue or 6. Look up 'Going rogue' and you'll find a CoV Launch Era Emmert Interview where he talks about Going Rogue being a soon to come out issue with Side-Switching.

Going Rogue is -not- an Issue unto itself. It's an Expansion that will -probably- be released to coincide with an issue. Why? So that people who -don't- buy GR at least have something awesome and cool to do.

Issue 16 AND the Going Rogue Expansion prediction: October/November
