Even with this though, they'd have to have a minimum team size on at least dr. quaterfield though. No way around that one.

They could always change the multiple glowies objectives.
[/ QUOTE ]
Or they could stick to their guns and not change the coding behind every task force and strike force and trial in the game just so that a few people can skip the workaround to solo a team-oriented piece of material...
I think it's wonderful that people have characters so powerful they can solo this stuff. Really! I do! It's a pretty awesome concept! But the amount of labor involved in hunting through every task force and trial and SF to rearrange and restructure the code would be pretty heavy-duty. And then altering the code on multiple glowies to be sequential or only spawn a single glowie...
I'd much prefer the manpower required to initiate that, test it, repair the crop of bugs, retest it, make a publish, patch notes, beta, retest, repatch, re-beta, release... I would prefer that effort goes to more things to add to the game rather than change something that is pretty easily worked around.
Go out, set the team size to 8, recruit SG members and global friends to help you start it, then solo it. No need to change the code. Though it's still impossible to do any trial ot TF with multiple simul-click glowies.

Hey. Umm. I play mission arcs in the MA fairly regularly. All story-driven and interesting. I have a great time. My fiance loves to make missions in the Architect for myself and my friends to play.
Just because you cannot do certain things doesn't make the MA "Useless aside from farming". It means that you just have to do other things.
Try running through the "Generation S" story arc by @Dynama. It's detailed, deep, interesting, and ends with either a whimper or an all out brawl after you make a tough choice.
And it was made before issue 16 or GR was even mentioned.

I'm kinda confused. Isn't the point of every thread on the entire forum either to express an idea or opinion OR ask a question to which you don't know the answer or would like to know peoples opinions of?
Seriously. What other points are there in posts and threads? You're either expressing or asking. That's all there ever is. Just because the idea or question involved doesn't appeal to some people doesn't mean the idea or question is invalid.
Personally I'm hoping for the second of the four options as well. And I think you've, more or less, captured our chances of each of the four rather well.
In short: Ignore people who post pointlessly on the pointlessness of posting pointless threads while attempting to make a point that the points you're making are pointless. They don't understand how posting works.

Can we get some new base items that are not tech/arcane but add some things like steam pump items, sewer energy/control items?
I am trying to make my base as a sewer that has been gutted out and gets reconstructed into a tech base.
I wanna make my energy room into an old pump station and eventually starting at my teleporters become more tech base...my only problem is that I don;t want to have an esthetically screwed up base.

Ahem.
SteamPUNK not pump.
That is all.

Honestly? Great idea on multiple levels.
I was originally opposed to it. But after the whole Rikti Farms/Bubble Farms fiasco...
A Single player finds an exploit. He knows that if he spreads word of it, the Devs will shut it down. So instead of filling teams with noobs to farm the exploit, he instead solos it on an "8-man" team.
Noone else finds out about it. It doesn't hit broadcast, and the Exploit doesn't spill out into the general populace for the super-leveling BS we'd been seeing before.
Then the Devs datamine the people that use the feature almost exclusively and solo, play through their MA missions looking for exploits, and if they find them CLICK! Locked mission and nerfed character.
Awesome.

[/ QUOTE ] Rachel, we are starting to agree on stuff too much. It's weird.

Don't start with the Obtuse thing again, Folonious.
Rikti Comm Officers, Hami Mito (Green), Cimeroran Surgeons, probably others... When exploits are found they're usually used by only a handful of people. We haven't seen a massive WAVE of exploits like this last batch since before ED.
Think of it as scales of 1 to 10. Is the risk you're taking a 1? Then the rewards shouldn't be more than 2 or 3. Maybe 4.
But if you've got a 0 risk and you're getting a reward of 10, then you're an idiot if you don't realize it's an exploit.

The Movement Master Archetype and powersets I designed months ago.

-Rachel- -
Does that mean we just gave the exploiters a warning on just how far they can hang themselves? Or are we just pointing out that it's not all it's cracked up to be?
Personally I like the part where the Exploits don't get ridiculously well known, since people don't need to pad a team with 7 people who learn how to do it and each makes a new team with seven more on into an exploitation exponential increase.
Either way, it's nice to see that you and I, for once, agree on something.

This suggestion would make Libertine Lass's powers a reality. Born on the Fourth of July, she fires fireworks at her foes >.>
Yeah. She's about as American as you can get.

More or less. Yeah.
Typical maintenance might include a full defragmentation, scandisk, and some performance checking programs running across the servers to make sure things are fine. Shutting them down to remove the cases and clear out any accumulated dust, and other mundane tasks.
Currently they get -about- the same amount of traffic on the server between Monday at noon and Thursday at 6am as they do over the course of Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. (All times Pacific) So shutting the servers down Monday allows them to clear out the Weekend traffic. While Friday allows them to clean up after the week's traffic and prep for another weekend.
Moving the time on Friday back a few hours would, indeed, piss off a LOT of American players. Mostly children and second-shift employees.

What would an open world map farm filled with Nemesis Lieutenant Snipers look like?
-Rachel- -
The game's monetary system is inherently flawed. You can create money by fighting enemies to spend on the market. However when you spend it on the market you're just giving it to another player.
Very little money is -leaving- the system while millions more is being added per hour. And since the market is cross-server I'm comfortable saying millions per hour. Even the really SLOW hours. :P
-Rachel- -
That's a fairly good idea. I'd suggest moving it to Jay's Costume Request thread up at the top.
Nicely done, Artic!

We've got a -few- coders. Mostly we'e got writers and creative developers working out the combat systems, XP, PvP, and Balance issues... Our actual plan is to put together a book of short stories to sell online for funding, get donations from members of the Steampunk and MMO communities, and then build a demo to present to Blizzard, NCSoft, Turbine, or someone else to get financial backing for full productiton of the main game itself.
Hopefully with the new site up we can start drumming up a grassroots advertising campaign to help recruit more talent and gather interest in the game. Then we can show the Production Companies that the game, once released, has a built in fanbase.
