Quote:Damn you. I don't HAVE any chocolate digestives. There was a pack of dark chocolate ones floating around a week or so ago, but they appear to have vanished.I'm sorry, but none of this compares to a Cup of Tea and a Chocolate Digestive! YES HEAVEN!
Edit: Dunk, dunk, dunk
It's going to have to be tea and Cadbury's Dairy Milk instead. And yes, I do mean I will be dunking a chocolate bar into my tea. -
Quote:Speaking for myself only, I will celebrate English, Irish and Scottish holidays as I have roots with all. I couldn't care less about Independance Day (my partner has American roots, so he celebrates while I sit around twiddling my thumbs), and I wouldn't expect anyone without ties to England to celebrate St. George's Day, or Scottish: St. Andrew's, or Irish: St. Patrick's, or Welsh: ...I dunno, a dragon?A few times I (a brit) have been mildly surprised by threads being posted in City Life celebrating various memorial days dear to Americans that seemingly have no relevance to CoH apart from the people being remembered (soldiers etc) being generally considered 'heroes'. They did I recall garner a bit of debate, generally on stuff like 'there were other nationalites than the US on D-Day' and things like that, with Australians and Canadians, as well as some of the Brits who play US-side, commenting. It'll be interesting to what effect our new European forumgoers addition to the fold have on things like this. The American memorial day Veterans Day, for example, is on November 11, which is also the day of the British Armistice Day, so that'll probably go down ok with the yanks and the Brits. The British equivalent, Armed Forces' Day, however, is on June 27, and I don't think the US has anything similar around that date?

Given the tsunami of passions crashing upon the forums right now, it seems this Jack Emmert bit from just over a year ago has a curious hindsight/foresight groove.

Honestly, if the forums were this exciting all the time, I wouldn't have stopped (mostly) using them.

You did post a goodbye post though and then came back even though you said you probably wouldn't

I know it will be useful to members of our SG who have tight finances and can't really afford the booster packs at their standalone price.

*waves* That's me!I am happy now....Roll on pay day!
And... are we going to be able to purchase this via the Store soon? or will i be forced to use Steam?

To be fair, I'm using steam a lot more recently and it's been a dream to use. All my old Hlaf Life games are registered on it and as I just reformatted my PC, reinstalling them was a doddle to do, just installed Steam and set them all to redownload, wasn't even that long to do on a fast speed connection like mine
As for the Coh install, paying for it on steam was very easy, very fast and the game was installing within minutes. I even used a cheeky trick to make the install go quicker. As I already had Coh installed, I paused the download via steam, found where it was installing it on my PC, copied contents of my normal CoH install across to the new folder and told Steam to carry on, it checked all the files and just needed to download an update, presumably the latest patches and it was done, took about 3 minutes!
I know play the game via steam, I can remove the CoH icons off my desktop and also have a hadny back up copy if needed if for some reason Steam won't work properly!
Honestly, it's very worth using and Steam often have special offers on as well, apparently I just missed out on Left 4 Dead for £13 as I was not using Steam at the time!Seen a couple of bargains on there as well, original Far Cry for £6

Plus there's been a CoH Steam group up for about 6 months now, full of those of us who like CoH but also enjoy other games. Steam's a fantastic social/gaming program that, yes, does have its bugs and issues, but most of the time runs smoothly and saves you having to keep your discs unscratched and at hand. -

The devs correctly understand that this game is adversley affected by excess farming.
[/ QUOTE ]However, they're banning arcs simply because they have the word farm in the title. So the only thing farmers need to do to not get their arcs banned is to not label them as such. And guess who gets hurt by that?

No one? -
None of your post made any sense to me, and that makes me sad.

My mum made outfits for me, complete ones, from scratch.
I honestly think she had more fun making them than I did wearing them.

I'm technically still here for another 3 days, though I haven't played in a few months. Welcome back, Pyra.

I love St Patrick's Day. The pub 'round the corner is a good ol' Irish pub. Yesterday, they weren't allowing anyone in if they claimed to be Irish, and anyone with green eyes got a free beer.

Films and books only have titles, taglines and a tiny blurb on the back giving you the gist of the story. This has worked for decades.
No code please. -

Oh thank god for that. I thought I was very, very late for work.
Unfortunately this still means I have yet to go to work. Stupid midnight openings. -

All the stuff I'd even consider purchasing is stuff from other/specialist shops I already know about/use. Everything else is ugh. PVC *shudder*. -
The title wasn't entirely serious, I'm well aware NCsoft haven't opened a contract with Come Dine With Me. However, being a reality TV show, it's nice to see a real person, with a real CoH box, on his real shelf in his real home.
As for The Big Bang Theory - not as good as Chuck's product placement, but still pretty cool.
