Thanks Monzaria!!
I own Fire and Ice, (on VHS). I have to try to find it on DVD. What a great animated movie, way ahead of its time for its day. I was big into emulating my favorite comic book artists - John Byrne, George Perez and Mike Grell.
Slik Jinx was the logo/character I created for my heavy metal band back in the 80's. My drummer suggested the name and I swear that image instantly popped into my brain. I was able to translate it very accurately to paper on a first attempt. I love that character -
Thank you very much Temperus_EU! Very kind of you!
I took a look at your DA stuff and I really admire your style as well!
After checking out your stuff, (and averyone elses that posts here), I finally decided to sign up on Deviant and it figures, Starwind is already takenThat really bummed me out! I need to figure out what I wanna do because I really like the Starwind tag as a branding concept.
I can't beleive the timing on this, because an SG mate just pm'd me tonight to advise he went and purchased a domain name for me called starwindgraphics. It was unsolicited and I had no idea he was going to do this but man, it feels like stars are aligning some howUnfortunately, I don't know anything about html or stuff like that, so I'll need to educate myself now and see what I can do. You never know

You are really kicking these things out CR! Nice start here! I wish I had that kind of time to dedicate!
I kind of agree with Caemgen here as well. You are doing these gratis. It's a wonderful gesture and expenditure of your time. I can't imagine someone would take umbrage with your work if the pony tails or broach weren't exact.
Imagine what van Gogh wouldv'e turned out on these boards -
Great stuff Cashoo!! I love how the colored lines contrast so well with everything! It really makes your work pop! I think she looks better without the peg leg personally.
And Happy Birthday!! -
Niiiice - Love it Kheldarn! It sounds like a tremendous amount of work and maintenance, but it's worth it if you enjoy doing it! Mine is much simpler - I track and sort by:
Name / Server / Hero / Villain / Level / AT / Gender / Primary Power / Secondary Power
And I recently added a column to note if they won a costume contest and have a section for deleted characters as well -
I'm male but play both male and female charactrers based on the concept. I'm also kinda freaky and keep an updated excel sheet with my character information. Currently, I have 94 males and 50 females.

Congratulations Bubba!! Can't wait to see it!

Congratulations StormVyxen and Alasdair!! Well done both of you!! Great job!!
Everyone had great concepts!! -
Well, this will be my last pick as someone will get this before my next available turn because we will have exhausted all the numbers.
So I'll make my last pick 83 and congratulate the lucky ******* who finally gets this!
Great contest Caemgen, this was a lot of fun! Thanks for the opportunity! -
I'm a little late but I wanted to take a stab at this.
At first I was not going to have a cape. I wanted to add more white, but not too much to detract from the rest of the costume. I decided to go with the translucent cape. It has an etheral feel to me which kinda accentuates the magical concept of the character. It also has sweeping lines that tie in nicely with the armored pants.
It's hard to see but I went with a light sparles aura for the hands and head in white. Again, it hints at the magic concept as well as refelctivity off the armored gloves and head piece. It's subtle so as to not overpower the overall read of the character image as well.
I went with orange hair because it's more of a natural red head look, it ties in with the Irish flag and as the only orange on the character it stands out nicely.
I went with black because it makes all the other costume components and colors pop!
Anyway - hope you like!

Cashoo - They both came out fantastic. Extremely niiiice job!! Just...wow!
Pyro - Great Dr Vahz button there! I thought you were buttoned outBut then again I can see how Cashoo's art inspires!
-
Well done again CR! I like the fire detail in her eyes, it's a nice touch. I also agree about softening up the features to achieve more feminine distinction. Keep up the quality work!
-
Pyro - You should ammend your chart and black out 35 & 47 lest you pick them eroneously
-
Could you imagine?
Don't worry - I dont' have that kind of luck, which is why I don't gamble. -
W is the 23rd letter of the alphabet - plus
I is the 9th letter of the alphabet - plus
N is the 14th letter of the alphabet...
Add them together and WIN = 46

Very sorry to hear about your job Pyro, but you never know, this could be the first step of the best time in your life. As Oathbound stated so well...

The logo is coming out great - looking forward to seeing the finished piece. -
<---- Dude. I had long hair and played in bands, but I'm definitely a dude! That's probably why alot of guys in my art have long hair
-
Congrats Jophiel! I'd do the happy dance but I didn't win. Can't wait to see how it turns out!
-
I'll take a guess and soon we'll see, if Cashoo's number was 83.
I'll push my luck and pick one more, Taclobanan at 84. -
Thanks for all your efforts on those bottons Pyro! I'm so glad I was lucky enough to get in under the wire with mine!
Take a rest before you dive into more...bacon? -
Quote:Not that I need to worry about trade secrets, but that is the technique I used with the Poser stuff I posted above. Of course I cheat and just drop pictures behind the characters. You know something else occurs to me. You may have something of an untapped advantage in the artz. There are a few artists on here that combine 3-D modeling with 2-D drawing to achieve some pretty impressive stuff (BattleWraith/FD comes to mind and also Doug Schuler and a few others). Since you have some skill at both ever thought of combining them? Like use Poser to get positioning and placement and use digital drawing/painting to overcome the limits of 3D renders. Just a thought.
With a family, (3 kids and a baby on the way next month), I don't have money for all the bellz n' whistles for my Poser program or to invenst in new ones. Also, available time is always an issue, so I'm rather limited. Instead of buying the hero models, I "tried" to create them myself, so there are definite imperfections.
The work by BattleWraith/FD & Douglas Schuler is pro level stuff across the board, I could only "hope" to achieve that level of quality. I'm honored to even be remotely mentioned with them in the same paragraph. Maybe eventually, I can be a poor man's Douglas Schuler
You guys are definitley pumping me up to get back into my art though, I gotta tell you! And I appreciate it, it's been a long time! -
