I heartily endorse this. And if we can't do it with all time, I'd like to try it with a mix of our alumni.

however, I actually liked the idea of an all-melee team that we discussed. I would vote Tankers with Stalkers a close 2nd (I hear they are much stronger after the recent buffs). Heck, even Doms might be a good mix
I'm open to all these things. I don't play melee much, or at least not much to high level, which I know I'd get to with this group. And there are a lot of new melee sets to play with.

I'd go Controller so I can try out Darkness Control.
I'd be tempted to do that as well. LET THE HOWLING BEGIN!
  2. Sunday was a blast. Ship raid, Apex (WST), Tin Mage = lots of all kinds of merits. Scored a Ragnorak/Knockback at some point, too. Now I'm short of converters. I want to convert the Ragnorak, and I have a Celerity that wants to be a +stealth.

I think the single-AT team is a decent idea. I'm OK with narrower themes, too. We should kick around more ideas this Friday, see what is piquing people's interest. Last time around, it was pretty clear that Beam and Time were the lead horses. This time, I don't see a frontrunner.

The other thing I want to say as we start to wrap up is I really grew to love illusion/time. It took me a while to warm up to it, but it's really turned out to be a great combination, solo and on teams, and at the incarnate level, too. I have as much fun playing her as I do playing my widow, and the ill/time is definitely more useful.

  4. Curses! Again the devs show neither awareness nor respect for our team's needs!

I am sure they are plotting to release several new powersets just after we decide our next theme.
  5. Oh, right, good point. But we will have the rest of the Incarnate powers.

Probably LRSF on Friday, Apex on Sunday? Since I recall 10joy can't make it on Sundays? Actually, Apex is pretty short, isn't it? Maybe we have time for both.

I haven't done an Apex since the old alpha+1 days. I hope it's a lot easier than I remember with +3 shifts.
  7. Which Mac do you have? iMac, laptop, or desktop that has a separate display?

If the display is in sleep mode but the computer is alive (sometimes difficult to determine), and you have a Mac that supports it, you can try to put the computer to sleep explicitly (eg, using an iMac's power button, closing laptop lid), and then waking it up again. I've seen that work to awaken a display on a laptop after disconnecting a second display.

We are efficient but disorganized. That must be why we aren't ruling the world already.

There was some ideas tossed around for our next endeavor. If I remember correctly, fire blast corruptors, mental/psi and energy were brought up as possible options.
That's what I remember. Too bad melee doesn't stack the way support does. There are a lot of new melee sets that might be fun to try, but it's tough to work them into a synergistic team without casting a really wide theme.

Someday after Nature Affinity hits, we could do Nature/Plant. That could be overpowered.
  9. I have had a couple market crashes recently, when I've had none before. I'd say it started within the last week or two. I haven't experimented to see the exact hows and whens.
  10. Friday saw our visit to IP to say farewell to Statesman. It went smoothly even though I forgot to throw my Phantom Army at Recluse so MP had to do it all.

For Sunday, we could do another 45+ TF if people are collecting for their Alpha slot. Or maybe the WST if people need to be Noticed by the Well. Or I think someone said they still had some missions at the end of the DA arc. I like the grand finale, personally. The opening scene reminds me a lot of that great part in Tin Mage TF where everyone's assembled in the portal room.

I did a few trials on Zeleia and learned two things. (1) With seven of them, and that I haven't done any in a few months, they don't feel like a grind anymore. (2) I also forgot details of what to do in a couple places and had to wander around like a n00b.

Forgot to reply to this earlier. I'll pitch in, but probably in a limited way.

I can help out if you're too busy or not interested. My creative skills are lacking, though. I can handle the functional stuff but not the decorative stuff.

Interesting observation: by virtue of our having been doing Dark Astoria stuff, I came close to unlocking Judgement/Interface before slotting Alpha. OK, not really close, and part of that was due to incoherent choice of component rewards, but still. In the past I've usually hit T3 Alpha before getting any significant progress toward the other slots.

The DA arcs have been an interesting challenge level. At times, the snake ladies were hitting us pretty hard at +3. But because the bosses are all EBs and not AVs (*), the final battles weren't disproportionately hard.

(*) Intentionally, it has been stated, to keep the arcs viable for solo/small-teams. Although they are brainstorming on ways to up the challenge for big groups without AVs.
  13. I got the Dark Astoria explore badge for the SG and the Dark Astoria beacon. However due to my inept base editing skills, the beacon is stuck to the wall instead of the teleporter like the rest of them. I assume you have to do something sneaky to get it there. Please feel free to fix!

That's about where Zeleia is, too. Your plan sounds good. Just trying to throw out ideas so we aren't all staring at each other come Friday.

As for damage, I noticed our slow speed vs. hard targets, too. It's tempting to ascribe it to the fact we are mostly defenders and controllers (even though we have a lot of -res and -regen). As much as I have enjoyed playing Illusion Control, I do miss blasting things. My ice/time corruptor is still level 22, though.
  15. So, the WST is finally one we can do (Kal). Maybe start with that on Friday, then finish off SSA #7?

    And Dark Astoria on Sunday?

    superteam

I run with a group on Justice, and we have advertised primarily in the Justice server forum, with a quick "look over there" post in the general forum to draw more attention. The loss of the player event forums was a big pain for us.

We're currently running an all-Time Manipulation team (defender, corruptor, controller, but no masterminds). See here: http://boards.cityofheroes.com/showthread.php?t=282627

You're welcome to join us. Level range is currently about mid-20s to high-30s, but we'll in general get anyone of any level onto a team at any time. Join our global channel (Justice superteamers) and say hi on Friday or Sunday evening. This time around we started redside, so we have a VG, but we're all rogues now, so we can team with anyone.
  17. We are officially getting scary. The defenders have had Chronal Shift for a few sessions, and the corruptors and controllers are starting to pick it up. With only two shifters on my team last night, my Phantom Army was already just seconds short of permanent. We can already keep Temporal Selection on two teammates full time. The stacking is just insane.

On another note...I was thinking of going for the Psionic Mastery APP on my ill/time controller (for thematic reasons as well as for the powers). But when I looked at the numbers, I wasn't that impressed. But I've never played it before, so...what is the general consensus on that APP? Is it OK in practice?
  18. See Liliaceae's Dominator Guide for a comprehensive look at the control primaries (and Dominator secondaries, too): http://boards.cityofheroes.com/showthread.php?t=236428

A trifle! We're already spread out from low teens to low twenties after only two sessions. Still a good time to join us!

It's always this way. We have a casual attitude, but the greyhounds on the team run at a relentless pace, and they reach fifty pretty quickly (3 months or so). The rest of us mutts trickle in in the following 4-6 weeks. But the whole pack plays together the whole way.

We're starting to get scary. The buffs and debuffs are stacking, and we haven't even gotten to the good ones yet. Nothing like standing in a sea of 6 or 8 Time's Junctures!

Musical chairs. Most of the time, it's juggle-able. If we're just doing missions, we'll split into four and five. Same thing for TFs, as long as we're only one or two missions into it. We'll restart with smaller teams, as long as we can meet the minimum number to start. Sometimes we will switch to something else entirely if we can't.

Most of the time we don't get really rolling for a half hour or so. If you're here at 8-ish, you're going to get on a team. I'd say it's less than one evening in two months that someone logs in late-ish and we're locked into long TFs already. Maybe even less frequently. (Anyone from the West Coast with a later schedule want to comment on that? Do you find that late logins get you locked out that often?)

We really, really try to get everyone on a team. There have been times we've juggled people and teams for ten minutes until we got everyone not only on a team, but doing the missions/TFs they wanted!
  22. Absolutely, come join us Sunday! It's easy to catch up at low levels. There's always a spread of levels in our group, and we always make sure that everybody who shows up gets on a team. Really, we bend over backwards to do so.
  23. This team starts Friday (Feb. 10)!

For anyone who hasn't started redside recently...Kalinda is no longer in Fort Darwin. She's down in Mercy, where everyone starts now. If you face Operative Kuzmin (your first contact, who is also marked on your map), Kalinda is now just to your right, in the same little plaza as the merit vendor.

    See you there!

Wait, what? Has this been stated clearly somewhere? As far as I know, 10.6 is still supported. It was 10.5 support that was ended recently (see sticky at top of this forum, dated Sept. 2011).

    Am I wrong on this?

(I'm running 10.6.8 and not having any problems; actually, with recent memory leaks being plugged, it's more stable than ever.)

Edit: found an official link on the support set. Minimum requirements as of Jan. 30, 2012 is 10.6: https://support.cityofheroes.com/app...etail/a_id/462

Edit 2: and they really don't make it easy to find that information. The main site, as far as I can tell, has zero information on system requirements.

Click on the Apple menu in the upper-left corner and select "About this Mac".

The upgrade is not free, though it is pretty cheap. I believe it's $30 to upgrade from Snow Leopard (10.6) to Lion (10.7). From Leopard (10.5), you may need to upgrade in sequence to 10.6 then 10.7, for more $$, but you'd better check that independently from my leaky memory.

To the OP: thanks for the note. I've been planning to upgrade but I wasn't in a hurry. This gives me a good reason.
