Well, we definitely kicked some *** tonight. Took down Amanda Gates and the Dirge of Chaos, and about a thousand Freaks. Mags went down twice in the fight with the Dirge and we still kicked it's ***. That was some solid teamwork against a vicious mob of ghosts and freaks. Followed that fight up with about 5 ambushes of Freaks rolling over us like the damned tide. After that arc, we went on to some Tsoo. Hate those Sorcerers, especially when there's more than one with a group.
As for levels, Shannon and I are at 24, and everyone else is spread out. Not sure about the plan for next week.
Hopefully next time we meet up we'll have some more people involved. -
So, we've got 3. Anyone else coming and perhaps forgot about it?

While I don't have a build myself, although I just started one up, the post below yours (as of my posting) was called 'a DP/psi build' and may have some useful info.
Another thread with discussion here. -
The Global Defenders are JLA/Avengers inspired, complete with a space station base. Pretty new to the group, but enjoying the rp so far. They've got a post in the SG recruitment thread that has more info.

I'll try to control myself.

Primary: Any but Stone
Secondary: Any.
Inv/SS would work well, although the wait for Foot Stomp feels like an eternity. Not my first choice, but more than capable.
Fire/Dark, as mentioned would be a solid choice.
WP will give you a solid tank, with end recovery, which makes things go a little smoother.
Fire/Stone is a nice combo, with good damage, and excellent mitigation. Heavy on the end though.
Inv/Dark is a beast with outstanding survivability and some decent utility to compliment its good ST damage.
Once you kick Stone(Granite) out of the running, everything comes into contention. -
A scrapper from Freedom I haven't played in forever...

And a corruptor from Justice I play on occasion...

If I could ever get the name Disavowed I'd love to move this guy to Virtue. He's got such swagger, perfect for rp'ing a mercernary-type. -

Joan of Arkansas is awesome.
A couple more of mine...

Mini Survey:
Do you nuke? Yes
When do you nuke? On teams, when it's up. Tank/Scrapper/Anointed Fodder takes alpha, then Click, Click, Boom!
Best and worst Nukes? Nova is the only one I've used much, most of my blasters are AR or DP. I like KB, so watching bodies fly all over the map is great fun.
What other powers complement the nuke? Build Up+Aim
Anything else you'ld like to add? BOOM! -
Trick 'r Treat (Haven't seen it, but well reviewed and looks promising)
In Bruges (Amazing dark comedy, who knew Colin Farrel could act?)
Mr Brooks (suspense, drama, and some darkly comedic moments between Costner and Hurt) -
Some changes:
The Recharge Reductions in your toggles are wasted slots.
Moved power selection order around to push Temp Protection till late and Fiery Embrace much earlier. Fiery Embrace is good, Temp Protection... not so much.
Replaced Burn with Build Up. Burn is tricky to use effectively, and without additional slots isn't really worth the fuss, IMO.
Added a couple slots to Health.
Changed the End Reduction in Healing Flames to a 3rd Recharge Reduction. My opinion being that the extra recharge is preferable, especially paired with secondary lacking mitigation.

That guide should be fine, it was posted in February and there haven't been many/any changes to fire/fire since. Also, I'm fairly certain the author of the guide is still around, so you might try (politely) messaging him for some personal advice.
I would personally go for a build with tough and weave. Then again I take tough on pretty much every character with status protection. -

He does pretty much fight Nazis in Europe till he gets frozen. Besides, if LA wants to gouge the hell outta big business, it's their duty to go elsewhere.

...boooooo...
-
A melee one.
I find War Mace to be delightfully sadistic. -
Quote:There's that, and also because shell casings are hot when they get ejected. My brother once ejected a .22 casing out of lever-action rifle with the rifle sideways. Thing flew up in the air, over his head, and right down the back of his shirt. Funny to watch, painful to experience.holding a gun sideways like a true gansta because that totally doesn't make it nearly impossible to hit what you're shooting at
On the other hand it's just a game and people just have to let some **** go. I once got a pile of harassing tells from a guy because the character I was playing was a female army ranger, and they apparently don't let women in the rangers. You can throw fire and channel electricity through your fists, but my chick can't be a ranger.
And while the op may have been in jest, I am, for the record, opposed to pistol melee because yes, it is ridiculous, as is the number of commas in the sentence. -
Honestly, the one mission where you enter in one zone, go through some sewers, and come out in another. For some reason I find that interesting.
Also, the ambient sounds are nice.
