  1. On my MA/Fire I found working to leverage Burn to be wasted energy. If I was teamed with a troller, then by all means burn 'em all, but solo it was just too much work for too little reward.
  2. Survival: WP, Inv, SR, any set with enough IO's

Covering MA's Weakness (Lack of AoE): Elec, Dark, Fire, Shield

    Most Synergy: probably Dark
  3. Pretty much any secondary will pair well with MA. Dark Armor, because of the ability to add it's stun aura to MA's stuns is about the only one with 'synergy', but they will all work well. I have lvl 50 MA scrappers with Regen and Fire and both do quite well.

Find a concept and go from there. You can't really go wrong with scrappers.

I do love that set. Have two on my MA/Fire scrapper. I enjoy finishing off enemies by using Crane Kick to put them in a new zip code.
  5. Fire/Elec gets my vote for the extra energy res.
  6. I had to work, and got to meet some of the most arrogant, uppity, useless bastards I've ever encountered. Then got rushed off to a bbq that was mostly over by the time we got there. And I get to work tomorrow at 6 am! Oh well, I get off at 10 and have Saturday off, so that's a plus.

I also got to see Tad Kornegay get absolutely levelled in the Als/Riders game. Not even halfway into the very first game of the CFL schedule and there's a hit that'll make the top ten list for the year. Nice.

I think I'll make July 2nd my Canada day.

See, the thing is, if you have an invalid name you're often allowed to keep it until you delete the character holding the name (ie. it's unavailable, not invalid). In such a case the name is both unavailable (taken) and invalid, hence why it's a crapshoot. To be fair that's a rather unlikely situation to come across, but is exactly the situation the OP ran into where he was holding an invalid name.

  9. Invalid names are names that have been added to the big list of names we can't use. Names on the list might be swear words, established comic/movie/tv characters or celebrities, or even the name of an in-game NPC. If it's on the list, you're not going to get it back.

The only way I can think of to check for 'invalid' names would be to find a server where the name isn't taken and use the 'Check Name' button. If it's invalid, you're SOL. If it's available, you're good to go. If it's unavailable, then it's a crapshoot.
  10. My Elec/Dark has tough, and I think it's a solid choice for improving overall survivability, particularly before you get a lot of defense.

Regarding the +End proc: Get it, Slot it, Love it.

My favourite part of the combo is when I remember I'm not Dark Melee and deal piles of damage against the undead I so often find myself fighting (CoT, BP, etc). It's also nice to be the only non-Shield/WP scrapper for miles around.
  11. I don't really use much AoE on my current build, but I have been considering an AoE, knockback-tastic secondary build.
  12. I thoroughly enjoy it on my Inv/DB tanker, not so much on my DB/Nin stalker. The abundance of AoE makes for excellent aggro handling.

I do use Aid Self a fair amount, and the not getting interrupted part would be nice. PFF + Power Boost + Aid Self and ready to go again.

    Thanks for the advice everyone.
  14. Almost always. Some don't, for concept or lack of power selections, but probably 90% or so do. On the other hand, I don't often take Weave.

It was certainly one of the best powers I picked up for my regen scrapper.
  15. I'm getting nearer to 41 with my main character, Starflier, and I'm curious what veteran blasters think of the powers in Force Mastery. I'm thinking I'll take PFF and Temp Inv, possibly FoN.

Any reasons I should reconsider the other powers, or are those fairly solid choices?

  17. Buttcapes: the 'yuppy sweater tied around the waist' of the hero/villain universe. Ooo... scary!
  18. Tanker/Scrapper/Brute: Invulnerability/Dark Melee
  19. Getting backhanded by a clockwork prince and sent flying across the room to land on your *** is epic.
  20. In my defense, I got home about 3 minutes before we started, so had no time to shop for IO's. Got some SO's that seemed to do the trick though.
  21. I'll be out of the house most of the afternoon (taking the wife shopping and to see Toy Story 3), but hopefully I'll be back in time for our run tonight. Either way I doubt I'll have time to respec Mags. Should be able to have him specced into some leadership powers for next tuesday though.

    Another scrapper.
  23. Dark Melee and Invulnerability

    Fire Blast and Dark Miasma

    Assault Rifle and Energy Melee

In fact, I respec'd Shannon this morning to add the leadship pool to her abilities. Now she has Assault and Tactics. As well as a slew more end problems. Gotta get to level 27 so she can slot some lvl 30 End Mod and End Redux IOs.
That brings up a thought: what if we all grab leadership powers? Stacked leadership powers provide a huge boost to effectiveness, and with the static nature of this team we'd always have other people running the powers. I know not everyone wants to make build sacrifices, but the benefits are substantial.

    Something to think over.
  25. Hell yes they stack, and it's fan-freaking-tastic. Stacked leadership is the most underrated tactic in the game.
