  1. I just click the presents and grin with glee as I butcher the snowmen inside. Their insides are made of candy! Just something fun to do while wandering the streets from mission to mission. Not speedy, but helps satiate my blood lust. For a while.

Wanna really blow your mind? Watch Terminator 2 and any other movie from '91 and compare special effects. I swear everyone else was doing effects with white glue and construction paper.
  3. I restarted the client a few times before getting the patch. Worked fine for me after that.

Own it and watch it from time to time. Although if I'm in the mood for badass Neeson fix I generally pop in Taken, especially since that's on BluRay and Darkman's on DVD.
  5. My range soft-capped nrg/nrg just threw a Karma -KB in hover. Works well enough. If I were going into melee a lot for blapping I'd probably grab a second one.
  6. Meh. For whatever reason I don't like Penelope Cruz in... well anything. Not a great trailer, but the wife will likely drag me along, so, yay Pirates!
  7. Jonah Hex, sorta.

My Inv/DM tanker is based on the vengeful spirit idea, although he didn't so much die and come back, as foolishly ask for 'justice' when confronting his ancestor's spirits. Welcome to an eternity of fun, junior.

Well, you would miss some big stuff, but I've read the series three times and don't remember most of what happened in those middle books.

Considering the series was originally intended to be six books, I can understand how things went sideways on the guy in the middle stretch.
  9. The Wheel of Time series really picks up with the eleventh book, Knife of Dreams, although even I would agree that's really too long to go between 'good' books. Jordan seemed to be getting tired of all the extraneous story lines and characters, so in one massive prologue took care of the lot of them. Some might call that a bit lazy, just shuffling them off like that, but I liked the abrupt change of pace from meandering stream to 'oh **** we just went over the edge and the last battle's waiting at the bottom. The two books since then, written by Brandon Sanderson, have seemed to keep up that pace.
  10. Inv/DM is cheating. It's that good.
  11. Last I heard, Star Wars is on its way for sometime next year.

All the movies I was going to recommend are already here (300, Watchmen, Star Trek(you haven't seen lens flare until you've seen it in high def!)), and when it gets here Suckerpunch. Basically, just about anything by Zack Snyder.
  12. Bah, can't make it tonight. It's the wife's last day off before Christmas, so she wants to go see a movie. Have a good one.
  13. I don't avoid the AE arcs, I just have more than enough regular content to keep me busy. It's a pain trying to find good arcs that stay good. Last time I went into the AE for a day I got fed up with every damned arc having Control/Regen bosses and EBs. The last arc before I quit had Mind or Fire control bosses or EBs in every single mission. Mind Control on lowlevel enemies is just ludicrous. Simple as that. I'm tired of great stories being screwed over by some jerks idea of a 'challenge'.

My experiences creating arcs has been largely positive. My one lowlevel arc, Rebirth, which I made to replace the 1-5 content blueside for me, has gotten a lot of good feedback.

Leave the farms there. Just add a category for them. Voted, Not Voted, Completed, Not Completed, Farm, etc. Less stuff for farmers to sift through looking for their arcs. Less stuff for people looking for story arcs to sift through. Won't exactly eliminate the crap arcs on either side, but will make it easier on both groups.
  14. Just finished reading Towers of Midnight by Robert Jordan, book 13 of the Wheel of Time. Well, just finished a month or so ago as I read it in two days. Decent book with plenty of stuff going on. Not the best in the series, but a decent read for those still following the series.

Also just read Serenity: A Shepherd's Tale. Good, not great, but nice to find out a little more about Shepherd Book.
  15. I would guess a Shield/DM might be able to do it. Considering Shields can be basically softcapped without set bonuses, you shouldn't need to sacrifice too much. Just a guess on my part as I have little interest in it myself. Seems to be the FotY for all things fantastic. Maybe Shield/Fire.

    Rage Nerf?

Pretty sure if there had been a rage nerf, CNN woulda reported it. Something about 'civil unrest' in NorCal.
  17. I work with a guy who looks like Doc Brown. Still haven't gotten him to shout out "Great Scott!" yet though.

That was an awesome game; only adventure game I ever really liked.

  20. So I head on down to take down the mad praetorian scientists Neuron and Anti-Matter, and find myself getting assisted by Lt. Harris, Sgt. Maj. Day, and Sgt Fillion of Vanguard. Not only was the reference a nice touch, but Vanguard kick *** when they're on your side.

The devs like to sneak them, or just cram them, in there from time-to-time, so what are your favourite in-game geek culture references?
  21. Often I start with a name and go from there, but sometimes it's a concept, or costume, or powerset combo that gets things started. It's different every time.

    MA/Invuln

Well, with Inv you're probably looking at wanting to soft-cap to S/L with one foe in range, if you're going for max survivability. You could also aim for a perma-DP build, which would mesh well with MA since it wants lot of recharge to run the high end chains. It may be possible to do both, but being that I'm not much for planning good builds, I don't really know.

Soft-capped with a goodly amount of recharge should give you the badassery you're looking for though.
