By giving the transaction to the character with the lowest asking price, the system encourages listing items with lower prices. For the intended purpose of selling items, this is the best deal for buyers.
[/ QUOTE ]
I think you mean this is the best deal for the sellers. The buyers get the shaft because they can't see the asking price, and they pay exactly what they offered if it is higher than the asking price. If you got it at the asking price when you overbid, that would be a good deal for the buyers.
[/ QUOTE ]
Seems to be setup just like FFXI's auction houses. The usual method was to look up the going price(same thing here)of what you wanted. Then you'd start bidding below that, bidding higher and higher until you hit the cheapest seller's price. No overbidding nessecary.
[/ QUOTE ]
But remember, the going price tracks the what the last 10 buyers paid, not what the sellers offered. In the bizarro world of inf transfers, TOs and random pieces of salvage could be going in the millions every other sale.
[/ QUOTE ]
Unless the last 10 transactions on a particular item were ALL people transfering Inf, you'd still see what the roughly normal price is on it. 9 lv25 Hold TOs went for 200 Inf each, but the tenth went for 500k? Pretty easy to see what went on there. And odds are you could still bid 200 Inf, give or take, and get that TO no problem. -

Another thing I'd like to mention, the lag in Pocket D. It's almost like a slideshow at times. If you're gonna continue to use Pocket D for events and such, then something's gotta be done about the lag. At least with the winter event we could leave the dance area and the lag behind by going to the chateau area. But the VDay event kept us in the dance area where the lag made it hard to move around and stuff. The strobe lights, the torches in the Tiki Room, whatever it is that's causing it, get rid of it!

Well let's see. Forced to have to get someone of the opposite faction to help you with the precursor mission was kinda lame. Well, forcing anything is lame.
CoTs for the villains? Friggin' CoTs? The CoTs suck. Nobody likes them, and most everybody goes out of their way to avoid them if they can. CoTs just have no place at all in an event that is supposed to be enjoyable. There's plenty of other mob types you could use. Hell, use the Igneous or the Luddites, or any other mob type rarely used in the game. -

And just to be clear, it's not necessarily the instant you see a cape on your screen the crash happens.
[/ QUOTE ]
Indeed. In one instance where I crashed, I zoned in to PI and was drinking a soda during the loading. I loaded in, put my drink down, and started to turn and bam, crashed. No one was in view on my screen, but being at the ferry there was bound to be people coming and going, all or at least some wearing a cape or trenchcoat. -
[ QUOTE ]
If that's so, it might explain the sheer randomness of my crashing a bit more...jumping through a zone, there's a caped hero in my LOS, BAM, crash. Moving through a mish, there's a caped/trenched/winged MOB, BAM, crash. Might make the whole thing make a bit more sense, then.
[/ QUOTE ]
It does to me too now. The whole randomness of it. And before, the devs kept saying it was the capes, when alot us knew trenchcoats seemed to be causing it too. But now that Posi's said that trenchcoats are included in this it makes sense now. -

Personally, I'd like to see a tailor put into Pocket D. That way we don't have to leave Pocket D after earning event costume pieces.
[/ QUOTE ]
Hell yes, and a trainer too! -
Great guide. Just got my first 50 yesterday and started a PB, so I'll be referencing this alot. I have a question though. You talk about and give sample builds for triforming and human only. But what's the feasibility of a human/dwarf only build?

Just to clarify:
Anything that is a reward "can" be made with the invention system.
This does not mean everything rewarded in the game is Inventable.
This means that, if we wanted to, we could have an Invention that gave out XP. Or Prestige. Or a Costume Piece. Or Infamy. Or a Badge. Or an Enhancement (we do a lot of Enhancements with the initial implementation of the system).
The invention system will not have all of this to start, but I am very excited with the sheer power of the system, as is Jack, which is why he touted it so positively in the earlier interview.
[/ QUOTE ]
But naturally the Vet Rewards will be off limits to that. Can't have somebody inventing the 33 month VR when they only have 6 months under their belt
Then again it would be nice to not have to wait 2 or 3 years for something that lots of people already have... -
I'm also getting really frustrated at the lack of finding the good stuff in the presents. I searched for hours on end with my tanker trying to get a Santa Hat, and let's just say I wasn't very far from the Toy Collector badge when I finally did get it. But on the other end of the spectrum, my lv40 scrapper(also my main badge'r)got the Snowball temp, Snowbeast temp, Santa Hat, and Jingle Jet all within 20-30 minutes of logging on. Go figure.
The whole randomness of it is just wacked out. Plus the 10% chance of getting the good stuff is just way too low. I understand the Devs want them to be rare, but damn, didn't they learn not to make stuff too rare back when the Halloween event first hit Test? And man, some kind of streak breaker with all the Naughty presents would've been great. Like after getting so many Naughty's in a row it's forced to give you a Nice one.
I'm sure once the Winter Event is over, there will be lots of people out there that never got the Santa Hat or Jingle Jet or both. And I don't think I could blame them for being pissed off about it. -

AI critters have always 'cut and run' if they consider themselves unable to win an encounter. The behavior you describe is consistent with that condition.
It is not impossible that the AI is flipping to 'run away' mode too easily for some reason. Reading Aett_Thorns post, it does not sound like this is the case, but if you can get some solid data to back it up it'd definitely be worth looking into.
[/ QUOTE ]
How about ya just do away with the whole "Cut and Run" thing period? Broken or not, it's annoying as hell. No one likes chasing them down. -
Sorry if it's already been mentioned, but the belt named V has clipping issues on female bodies. It clips into the hips on both sides.

Good show, listened to it while playing tonight. My only complaint, if that, was that sometimes Cuppa became sort of hard to hear, as if she were leaning away from her mic. But other than that, it was good.

I remember waaaaaay back a DM/Regen friend took me along while he killed stuff on monster island. I was warned to not shoot because of the aggro I would draw, and naturally had to test it. Took one shot with dark blast after he'd knocked maybe probably around a fourth of its life off, the monster instantly turned and started taking shots at me. Main reason I'm mentioning this is because it seems to be something they've fixed before so they might have records of how they fixed it last time. I have no idea how the whole process works to know if this is true or not though.
[/ QUOTE ]
Sounds like what's happening to my Corruptor. On a team with two brutes, mobs will suddenly turn and go after me. I'm a Dark Blast user, so I by no means do massive damage, or even enough to "steal" aggro from the brutes. My attack chain is usually Tentacles > Night Fall > Transfusion, followed by pelting a single target with DB and Gloom. And yet I somehow "steal" the aggro from 2 Super Strength Brutes. -
Overheard while TPing across Cap I think.
Luddite Friar: Illustration 4 is entitled "How to go limp."
Luddite Torch Bearer: Sing it, brother.
