The option can be set different on each character, so you might want to log on to a character that already has all your options set the way you want, click the save options to file button at the bottom, then just Load Options from file on all your characters as you log into them. -

One thing to take into account is that the majority of the CoH files, the pigg directory, are already compressed and you won't gain much space out of compressing it further.
For example, the biggest file in the directory, the texMisc.pigg, 202,293 kb, only shrank down to 197,812 kb when I ran RAR over it. Zip only brought it down to 199,792 kb. -

Don't Giant Monsters like Adamastorbator pop up at very long ranges?
[/ QUOTE ]
Some do. Adamastor shows up from about 3/4 of a mile away. You can target it (if you have line of sight) from that distance. Kraken, on the other had, has an extremely short distance that it can be seen and targeted. If the Kraken decides to run, you can lose target on it if it runs far enough, which causes some people to believe that it has despawned. It always comes back to spawn site eventually though.
A similar thing happens with the Halloween Eochai. The pumpkins that spawn around it can be seen and show up in the demo files from a greater distance than Eochai itself can be seen. Sometimes while making the Halloween spawn site maps on the wiki, I would find a whole list of pumpkins spawns, but no sign of Eochai until I got closer to it in the game. -

what do I open the file with?
[/ QUOTE ]
Notepad, wordpad or any other text file program.
From windows start menu->Programs->Accessories->Notepad or Wordpad
From there you can either drag the file onto the program or go through the file menu->Open
Then just hit Control+F, type in adamastor, and hit enter.
You'll then find a chunk of text similar to this:
Code:The actual numbers will vary. If it says GROUNDBURST_SLEEP then that means it has spawned hidden, and won't appear until a hero gets near it. The text you want to look at is the line with POS in it, in this case POS 2093.5 42 2571. That's its /Loc. See this wiki article for help with interpreting the numbers.0 1380 NEW Adamastor 0 1380 NPC Giant_Pantheon 0 1380 POS 2093.5 42 2571 0 1380 PYR 0 -1.570796 -0 0 1380 MOV GROUNDBURST_SLEEP 0

Thanks for the link StarGeek, I didn't even think about checking paragonwiki. And thanks for the quick response.
[/ QUOTE ]
Unfortunately, that article isn't easy to find on the wiki. -
A chat bind? I don't think that a giant zombie has much to say
.
Anyway, Adamastor is really easy to detect, even underground, if you just make a quick demofile. Just type /demorecord Where's_Adamastor(or any other file name), open up the file (it'll be in the client_demos folder of the CoH folder), and search on Adamastor, and if he's within 3/4 of a mile of your character, he'll show up in the file. The POS line near his name will give the exact /loc.

I was over the year on Cat
I had chronic altitis from day 1.

This
I leveled up my scrapper and empath about evenly, and it took about a year, with lots of alts in between. It took me another year to get my next one, a kin defender on a different server up, and I've only recently gotten my 4th 50 up. I do have about 6 charcters with xp locked down at about 44-45 though. I don't want to outlevel some stuff. -

thanks and I did look at the wiki. it said you could for the villain but didn't say it for the hero.

Well, I was just linking in general, but the section I specifically linked to answers the question. -
A couple of (much) older threads on the subject. Short answer, appears to be dead.

One thing to remember is that if you don't plant bombs, it's going to be a shorter raid. From my testing, 1-2 bombs makes for a 28 minute run, 4-6 make for a 31 minute run, and 7-10 make for a 34 minute run. I have no idea if you can get more than 34 minutes with more bombs. These all include taking down the GM, which may or may not add time.
A bigger challenge would be to have more, smaller (say 2-3 person) teams, and attempt to set ALL the bombs. I have yet to hear about that being pulled off. -

With 8 points of KB protection, the only things that have knocked me back on my fire tank have been: Jack in Irons, Rikti Pylons, occasionally Fake Nemesis, Lord Recluse in STF, and occasionally Mary MacComber and friends in the KHTF. I'm sure there are other things, but those are what I remember off hand. -

They'll still see you if you're at the Stealth cap, but it's not because they have any extra Perception (they have normal minion Perception. If they had high enough Perception to overcome the Stealth cap they'd see unstealthed targets from very large distances away), it's because they just plain ignore Stealth altogether.
[/ QUOTE ]
This. You can easily test this with the Analyzer temp powers (grab and make yours at the market). It'll show that the drones have normal perception range (45' I think?). -
You might want to join the Protector Watch and/or the Jello Shooters channels and ask there. There are plenty of people willing to help an both of those channels.

The power of the buffs cannot be emphasised enough. Way back, when I first started, I tried making a healer, coming from EQ at the time. The eye opener for me was when I ran a Synapse TF with 2 scrappers. About half way through, I realized that after I had them both covered with Fortitude, I didn't have to heal them. They're natural regen covered what little damage they were taking. That's when I learned to start firing away with my poor, unslotted Neutrino Bolt.

That would make sense, and I could be wrong. If so then the wiki is wrong too. It lists Talos as 20-27 and IP as 22-29.
[/ QUOTE ]
That's really, really strange. I wonder what criteria the person who made that edit used. I noticed some really strange numbers on some of the other zones as well.
Hmmm... after making a quick trip around Talos, I'm guessing that the level of enemies was used. I couldn't find any critters above level 27 in Talos. -

I believe it's a twenty minute timer, with the clock starting when you enter the mission. -

Ok, so my friend just recently told me that last issue, the devs nerfed smoke, so the to hit debuff was taken off after you attacked the mob.
[/ QUOTE ]
Easily tested in game. Get one of the analyser temp powers (they don't cost much at all) and use it on some random critter. Then hit it with smoke. You'll then see if there's been a change.
edit: I remembered I had a rarely played Dom that had Smoke on him, so I went in and tested it. Here's a screenshot. I did not attack the luddite and the debuff still affected it.
[/ QUOTE ]Did you mean after you DID attack, instead?
[/ QUOTE ]
Ah, I misread the original post, badly.
New screenshot, after attacking. -

If you have the GvE edition you have the Pocket D VIP teleport. This drops you right in the Tiki Room in Pocket D. The tailor is just up the ramp (a rickety wooden bridge-like ramp) from the main entrance there.
This is the easiest tailor to get to for low level characters.
[/ QUOTE ]
By far, but the second easiest if you don't have the VIP Pass might just be the Independence Port one.
IP is a higher level zone than steel but the tailor shop in IP is really close to the Kings Row door.
[/ QUOTE ]
The Founders one is also really easy. From Pocket D, jump in the water, head south, then east, then pop back up on the road right across from the tailor. -

I always thought the CoT Boss Mages had better perception.
[/ QUOTE ]
They should have normal boss level perception, which is 54', IIRC. The OP mentioned Stealth IO and SS, which should give 65' stealth. -
Well, a real easy way to double check would be to add a tab and just put the hero alert channel on it. The first run of the rikti raid usually takes about 45 minutes, so at about 9:45 ET (6:45 PT) there would be an alert for the raid, possibly followed by another an hour or so later, if there's a second run.
Also, you could log your chat and search through it at a later time. And the chat log gives exact date and time when it happens. For example, here's one entry:
01-03-2009 11:36:22 [Vanguard] DANGER!: Rikti invasion forces have been spotted in Founders' Falls. Non-combatants are advised to seek cover.
