I seriously thought the 0-50 in a few days thing was hyperbole. Part of me still does. I've done an AE farm ingame maybe 3 times, and just didn't see what the big damn deal was, so I ignored it.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Go in, check it out for yourself. Search for Hamidon in AE. Solo, I went from level 10 to 11 in 20 minutes without even trying on a Hami farm. This was while chatting with friends, stepping away to grab a snack, and only slotted with level 10 IOs. A full team would have ripped through and taken only a couple minutes to get levels.

    Purple recipes?

I've begun to save only set recipe drops. Any regular invention I just vendor. I got my first purple at 48 a couple nights ago.

    [/ QUOTE ]

that's the best way to go about selling stuff, but heck, a lot of the set recipes go for a lot less than you'll get for them at the market, so always check, some of them you might get 900 for at wentworths, but 10k for at the normal stores

    [/ QUOTE ]

To a degree, I disagree with that a bit. You can often get more for common recipes on WW, as long as you sell the basic stuff that everyone needs (Damage, acc, endurance, recharge, etc). You can even make money buying some common recipes off the workbench and selling them at WW. Yes, some people will pay more than workbench prices for some reason.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Unless you want it to sit there, from what I've notice, it's only on the 35+ common IOs that is true.

    [/ QUOTE ]

The items I bought off the workbench and sold for profit where level 20-40 recipes. Just to be clear, I was buying them and listing them for a loss, just to get the sales badges. I made decent profit off of it.

If you're an ebil marketer, then it's not the way to go, but for casual player, just listing stuff, and checking once/day, works fine.

And also, to reiterate, it was recipes that are in demand, not things like mezz, interrupt, intangibility, etc. Those go straight to the vendor.

    I can see it now:

Oh damn, I cut myself really bad there. I'd better apply a tourniquet.
Hmm... I wonder how much longer I can keep playing before I have to get to the hospital... I'd better ask.

When your item sells, you get the money you paid to list it back, I believe. So you really only pay once.

    [/ QUOTE ]

You don't get it back, it's taken out of the 10% of the sale fee.

For example, if you list something for 1,000, the 5% listing fee is going to be 50 infl. If it sells for 50,000, the 10% sale fee will be 5,000, but you'll only pay 4,950 infl, because 50 was taken out for the listing fee.

    Purples are oranges on steroids.

They usually give larger increase in a powers' performance. They usually carry higher chances of their procs to activate and generally give better global bonuses.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Inspirations don't have procs, nor global bonuses.

    [/ QUOTE ]
Sorry, I'm having a bad WEEK of reading miscomprehension

    [/ QUOTE ]

It happens. You don't want to know what the past months has been like for me .

Just to be clear, there was no snark, no sarcasm, no flames in my response, just a statement of fact.

  8. Orange inspirations give you resistance, which reduces the amount of damage you take when you get hit, but won't prevent any secondary effects (mezz, tohit debuff, etc)

Purple give you defense, which helps you avoid getting hit altogether, and thus avoid secondary effects.

For the most part, purples will be better until you hit the soft cap of +45% defense.

Edit: Darned, Stargeek beat me to the punch, and with less overflowing purple prose to boot...

    [/ QUOTE ]

But mine was less entertaining than yours.

Still, with so many threads dropping below 2 or 3 stars, there is probably more than one bandit, or they have 3 or more accounts, since I'll often use my 2 accounts to 5 star, plus Archiviste doing the same with at least one account...

First run ended about half hour ago. *IF* a second run started up, they should be on the ship by now. Hurry, hurry, hurry .

    Ancient history.

The contacts used to be the primary source for non "power 10" enhancements, where otherwise you had to go to find stores. Call it a convenience tax.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Fixed.

Stores only sold the power 10, you had to go to contacts and get your reputation up with them to get other types.
  12. [ QUOTE ]
Getting in before a One Star is a greater accomplishment than getting a redname post.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Not really.

I'll fess up and admit that I've been 5 starring most threads in response to the one stars. And there are many times when I've 5 starred something before it has received any stars.

  14. You can check at City Info Tracker.

One problem with keeping up a list of them is that every now and then the numbers change.

    missed it by *that* much

    *sigh*

    here i go again....

can't find it....don't see it on the map....

    anyone?

    [/ QUOTE ]

For a long term souce of this kind of info, bookmak this site : http://cityofheroes.wikia.com/wiki/City_of_Heroes_Wiki

It'll tell you everything you need to know about a given zone, including the zones that link directly to it. (I know I've used it for that very same purpose)

    [/ QUOTE ]

Don't bookmark that site, that's the old one which isn't being updated anymore.

    The correct url is http://ParagonWiki.com

  16. Also take a look at your active contacts. If there's a contact from the lower tier in there, they may be trying to direct you too Maria. Also try doing a mission or two from Harvey Maylor or Unai Kemen as well as from Crimson. They might pass you along to her as well.
  17. What flavor Jello are we going to use to fix this!!??!
  18. [ QUOTE ]
Limited powers scale up with your level. If you get a limited power at level 10, it will be greyed out if you get exemplared/malefactored below it.

    [/ QUOTE ]

If by limited power, you mean temporary power, then that's not quite right. Temp powers are always available when you exemp, even when you exemp below the level you got them, unless you've picked an appropriate setting in a flashback (AT only powers, no temp powers, etc).
  19. /PlayerNote GlobalName

Or if there's a space in the name

    /PlayerNote "Global Name"

Though if you're lazy, you don't need the closing quote.

If you don't know the global, only the character name, do a /GetGlobalName charactername first.

    Windowed mode?

    [ QUOTE ]
How do you run the game windowed? I can't find any options for it under menu/video, and I can't find a selection box option for any of the desktop shortcuts or icon options.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Under video, there's a drop down box for screen size. The option to select windowed is there. You'll have to restart the game afterwards.

You can also use TweakCoh before starting up the game.

    RUSH the RIKTI!!

    [ QUOTE ]
Is there any way we can plan a couple of these a week, maybe? I used to LOVE getting in these, and I have some alts that I want to get involved, but they changed my work schedule and I have to work Wed's and I'm missing it.

    [/ QUOTE ]

One thing to realize is that you don't need a large number of people to be on a raid. Several times now I've been on raids with as few as 10 people. Really good people, true, but they went quite well. You just have to be a bit more careful than the usual Wed. night madness.
  24. [ QUOTE ]
With architect you get a free boster pack and the 30 days free. You can choose either the magic or cyborg pack.

With good vs evil edition you get the goodies and 30 days free, but any additional booster packs will still cost 9.99. If you plan on getting either magic or cyborg down the line, the best value is the architect.

    [/ QUOTE ]

And getting the GvE booster pack later on will also cost $9.99. Doesn't matter which way you go, he'll get one booster pack for free, and have to pay for the others.
