I agree, i have a level 50 dark/dark corrupter , and did solo ab it before 50 and it was quite easy. Also having a pet which can heal, debuff, imob and hold is good. But never tried soloing above Villainous so not sure about fighting bosses and things.

My D/D's at 41 at the moment, and I generally play on the middle level (Relentless?). Bosses are quite takeable - Darkest Night them, Tar Patch then blast away with the occasional TG to kill their regen. It can take a while, but generally you take them down with next to no fuss (and taking next to no hits!).
Some of the Carnie bosses that do -rec attacks are complete pains, as if they land even one hit it can have you running out of end before you can floor them, but with insps (purples and blues) you can usually get the job done.
The one enemy that's stymied me as a Dark blaster, and stuck me at 41, is EBs. Even on Villainous these just seem to have too many hits to take down before the end runs out, even with a tray full of blues. And that's assuming they don't land a mezz on you, which drops DN and means most of their followup attacks hit too...after that it can get very messy, even with Fluffy on hand to heal and draw aggro.
Basically I'd say Dark Blast's a very nice set, with a wide range of powers...but doesn't do enough raw damage to be easily soloable all the way up to 50. -

As it says in the title; my main-of-the-moment (33 Tank) has been offered this mission, and if anyone else wants it they're welcome to come along.
XP not an issue, so if any high levels want to come along unSKed that's fine.
From past experience this mission's rather prone to failure, sometimes due to player error, sometimes seemingly at random, so everyone cross their fingers before turning up...
Interested people sign up here, or send me a tell in-game (@Standoff/Sally Forth) before kickoff on the night. -
Yesterday my Ice/Ice tank suffered the painful expiry of the Sands of Mu, re-opening a gap in her attack chain that needs filling as quickly as possible.
At present she has Frozen Fists, Ice Sword and Frost, at 35 (she's currently 33) she'll be taking Greater Ice Sword. She has 3-slotted Hasten running as much as possible.
The first question for more experienced Icers is whether the Greater Ice Sword would close up the attack chain again.
The second, if the answer to the first is "no", is what's recommended for doing so? Flurry appeals a little, if only because it reminds me of my beloved Sands (and the Speed pool's already open), but I gather it will need quite a bit of slotting to bring damage up to Sands level, and even then will be a single target thing rather than Sand's short cone... 8. Sally Forth - 31 Ice/Ice Tank (proud member of the "exemp to 30" club)
Looking at what is in the party I doubt anything will stay up long enough to do us serious damage - we should be OK. -
Up for it too, on the 10th!
-
Heh - beginning to look like Klep might be the only one actually getting any xp out of this.
-
Against all the odds I should be able to make this with my Icey tank, Sally Forth - currently 31, will be exemped to 30 for the TF.
-
I suggest we put it down to all parties suffering from a combination of "eager for the weekend" syndrome and heatstroke induced by global warming.
I'll probably be doing Hess in the near future (when I've actually unlocked him!), and you'll all be very welcome to join in on a bit of volcanic Giant Robot sabotage. Watch this space... -

well nice work, but i have to say i came on here this morning to say how sry i was about having to leave due to rl,(personal im not even gonna go into it here) but to have u post implying that i just left because i couldnt be arsed is a bit [censored], im sry i had to leave and i wish i had stayed cos i wanted that tf badge, but there is no need to post things like this to make me look bad.......

Leasam, I didn't mean to say or imply anything like that; what I said was:

Thanks also to Angel Storm, who played through the first few missions but then inexplicably vanished (d/c? RL lightening strike?).

In the postscript post I wanted to thank you for your contribution, and say that we didn't know what happened (if you sent a tell to anyone it didn't reach me, and I missed anything you said in team chat), but that something that could very well have been completely beyond your control (like lightening!) had led to you vanishing. As turned out to be the case.
Apologies if I gave the impression you left for no good reason; again, I certainly didn't intend to. -
The only powers I slot with Taunt Enhancers is Taunt itself, plus the Taunt Aura.
The former because if I taunt them I want them to damn well stay taunted, the latter so that if I'm dashing around sweeping up aggro with the aura they don't forget about me too quickly after I've moved on. -
To elaborate slightly...
Big thanks to the completing team of:
Klepsilon
Disrupto
Intimidationist
Diamond Jim
Mr ? (no, that's the name - I didn't forget!)
Thanks also to Angel Storm, who played through the first few missions but then inexplicably vanished (d/c? RL lightening strike?).
Quizzial looks to Connor Wraith, who asked to join then indisputably quit the team in the second mission without warning - go figure.
Anyway, we stormed through with minimal faceplants, the AV went down amazingly quickly and I got a few bars and 2 Acc SOs out of it. Score! -
OK, revised - and maybe final - team list is:
1) Sally Forth (28 Tank)
2) Klepsilon (23 PB) (if those 4 bars were gotten!)
3) Disrupto (28 Scrapper)
4) Intimidationist (27 Defender)
5) Baccarac (45 Defender; autoexemp to 28) (probable)
6) Uniqua (PB)
7) Angel Storm (32 Defender; autoexemp to 28)
Meeting place: Moonfire's rock if you know where it is and can get there safely.
If you don't, or are feeling a bit squishy, stay by the ferry (Striga side) and when teamed we can sort out TPs. -
You would - as most of the team seems to be levels 27-28, or autoexemped (to 28) it looks like we'll be playing at the top end of the TF range, with the few lower level members SKed up.
-
Gah! Can't make tonight (or Wednesdays generally, as a rule).
Bagsy a space on next month's outing, on a different day of the week! -
Gratz Weasel - next 50 ready in 2008?
Edit: Or are you going to take your time for that one? -
If I recall correctly this is one of the shorter TFs - 2-3 hours depending on team makeup, probably towards the lower end of that.
Just to get it down in writing, the current list of interesteds is:
1) Sally Forth (28 Tank)
2) [rpgguy] (23 PB)
3) Disrupto (28 Scrapper)
4) Intimidationist (27 Defender)
5) Baccarac (45 Defender; autoSK to 28) (probable)
Which is very close to the 6 we need to start! -
A few thoughts, all IMHO of course.
* Dull Pain is seriously light on slots - 3 Rechg 3 Heal isn't excessive here, as it both gives you a big HP boost while up and a potentially lifesaving heal when clicked.
* You've left Unstoppable very late in the build - this is a staple power for the set!
* Air Superiority might be more useful for a tanker than Hover; you have KB protection anyway, can live without the vertical movement until 14 and the DEF boost's pretty damn tiny.
* If you do take Hover, slot it for flight speed - it uses next to no end anyway, but is very slow!
And that's all for the moment... -
This is a 23-28 TF, based in Striga, and I thought I'd better get it done quickly before my tank completely outlevels it!
Anyone else interested? -

28 seems good, although I always take my shields ASAP cos I'm a little cautious.

I'd been planning to get it in the 20s, as it wasn't until then energy attacks start appearing in any number...but then there was Ice Patch and Energy Absorbtion, good defensive powers in their own right, plus Frost as a 3rd attack/AoE aggro grabber. So it's only at 28 there was finally enough breathing space for it.
Anyyway, reached 28 yesterday evening, got it, and agree that sunglasses really are needed if you're going to run if for any length of time. -
I'm thoroughly convinced - Glacial Armour's now going to be my next pick, at 28!
Thanks to all for feedback. -
My latest alt, an Ice/Ice tank, has powered up to the late 20s courtesy of double XP, and I'm dithering over some of the primary powers.
As the subject suggests, the one I'm asking about it Glacial Armour (or Armor if you must); this would be used purely for PvE, so the +Energy DEF's the aspect I'm most concerned about - the +Per isn't such a big thing.
The question is, are there enough pure En/NegEn attacks to make the power worth taking? As I understand DEF armour the existing armours' S/L will be what matters for any combined S/L+En attacks - and of course that's already covered.
Any thoughts? -
Citazzzzzel, eh? I'd have to check my stocks of ProPlus tablets before committing to that...
