More updatedness:
1) Sally Forth (36 Ice/Ice Tank - autoexemp to 30)
2) Drk Knight (40 MA/SR Scrapper - autoexemp to 30)
3) Vig'rid. (46 BS/SR Scrapper - autoexemp to 30)
4) Carronade (32 Tanker - autoexemp to...you get the idea)
5) Golden Girl (?? Herself - bet she autoexemps too!)
6) Klepsilon (34 PB - yup, AEed)
7) Yamarashi (25 Scrapper - probably SKed to 29)
8) Snow Angel (Who can say?)
9) Raz (Another mystery!)
10) Mr TPF (Scrapper, low 30s IIRC)
11) Pinkette (Em/En Defender, high 20s, again IIRC)
12) "Mr TPF and Pinkette's friend" (Lord knows)
...the last 3 entrants having been sent as a global tell I found when I logged on, hence the uncertainty in details.
That is, with a 100% turnout, 2 teams. Anyone else want in to make things a bit more tolerant of no-shows on the day? -
OK, revised, and possibly final, lineup:
Which brings us up to a more than full team!
There are possibles on GG and rpgguy, the latter for account reason and the former for possible lack of time. GG, you stepped up first and have first dibs on a spot, but if (as your post suggested) you were offering to come mainly to let us hit the TF number requirements there's no need on that account. Of course, if you're suffering from a bit of insomnia at the moment and want to do the TF for its own sake, you're welcome!
If anyone else still wants in, carry on posting here - it looks like we could have enough people for several teams at this rate! -
The list so far:
1) Sally Forth (36 Ice/Ice Tank - autoexemp to 30)
2) Drk Knight (40 MA/SR Scrapper - autoexemp to 30)
3) Vig'rid. (46 BS/SR Scrapper - autoexemp to 30)
4) Carronade (32 Tanker - autoexemp to...you get the idea)
5) Golden Girl (?? Herself - bet she autoexemps too!)
6)
7)
8)
Relieved to see some people stepping forward - after complete silence this morning I was a bit concerned that I might have talked it up too much, and people were hanging back for fear of overstimulation.
All welcome, of course - GG, would be very happy to have you along, although if you'd rather not spend time repeating a mission you have the badge for and would earn you no xp I'd understand! That said if we don't get the full 6 needed to start the mission we wouldn't mind you along for that part of it at least.
Days to go, so let's see how things look in a bit... -
As in the subject - get your Pro Plus tablets ready as I'm organising a team to tackle Citadel's snoozefest of a TF. Lots of Council bases (actually, the same Council base lots of times), fair xp and an AV at the end - details here, if you replace "5th Column" for "Council" throughout.
xp-gaining levels are 25-30, and so far we have:
1) Sally Forth (36 Ice/Ice Tank - will autoexemp to 30)
2) Drk Knight (40 MA/SR Scrapper - will autoexemp to 30)
3)
4)
5)
6)
7)
8)
This one will probably take 3-4 hours to finish, although it may seem much longer...
As you may have gathered I don't think this is the most thrilling TF in the world; on the other hand there is xp to be got, as well as badges and a step towards Task Force Commander!
Sign up here if you're feeling alert enough! -
Double gratz on a double ding!

[ QUOTE ]
Since he gave us no info on slotting of his aura and the other tanker's Taunt and level difference between him and the foes you can say 'In this case yes' but you'll never manage to out-taunt an Ice tanker with CE and Taunt properly slotted. Fact.
[/ QUOTE ]
Unless something's broken, that is... -
Minor quibbles rather than anything else, but...
I assume this build's to be used for PvP? If not you may have gone overboard with Acc slotting on your attacks.
There's nothing in the way of vertical travel powers in there. Without making major changes to the build how about swapping Swift for Jumping (or whatever the Fitness pool jumpy power's called) and keeping all the slots.
The old "less, but more often" debate; you might consider swapping Taunt enhs for RecReds, to allow multiple mob groups to be pulled to you more quickly.
As I've found with my Ice/Ice (currently 35) Hibernate actually is a very handy power - it's saved her <bleep> any number of times (OK, 6 or so). You might want to move it a bit earlier in your build, as when you need it it's a near-guaranteed debt-dodging power.
Slow enhs work really well in Chilling Embrace - mine's 3 slotted (+ 1 EndRed and 1 Taunt) with them, and it gets the mobs down to a sub-Baywatch crawl... -
[ QUOTE ]
How does the Radiation Emission "Choking Cloud" power fit into this, incidently? Likewise for the sleep effect of TA's Trick Arrow. Does it "tick" every X seconds and do an AoE mes check? Or is it like Mag 1 and always active as long as they are in the AoE? Or does it do a variety (randomly does different mags)? Or does it always do a hard 2 or 3, but is very innaccurate, and "misses" a lot? And if so, can it's accuracy be improved by to-hit buffs like tactics or Aim from a blaster powerset?
*AND* does a power like the epic "power up" boost mag as well as extending duration?!?
[/ QUOTE ]
It ticks every X seconds, with a 50% chance of hitting with a (IIRC) Mag 1 hold on all targets in the AoE.
It can't be directly slotted with Acc enhancers, but will benefit from anything that boosts the user's base accuracy like Tactics.
The low accuracy makes it a bit "meh" out of the box, as it attracts lots of aggro but even when it hits the hold isn't long enough to keep mobs off your back well enough.
Slot a few hold durations in though, and holds start overlapping between ticks and it gets much more useful. End permitting.
AFAIK nothing apart from Domination will boost hold mags.
Edit: That's all for Choking Cloud - no idea at all about the TA stuff! -
[ QUOTE ]
You will always send a Boss to sleep with Mesmerise as this power has a higher magnitude than other Controller's Hold, stuns etc... it can sleep a boss with one hit.
[/ QUOTE ]
OK, that makes testing 33% quicker.
Hit the boss with Mesmerise, he goes to sleep.
This use a regular hold on him and see what happens; that won't have enough magnitude to actually hold him, but will break the sleep if it's going to... -
I'm pretty sure that if anything breaks a sleep effect at all, any sleep magnitudes - whatever the stacking - are immediately and fully lost.
I'm less sure whether a damage-less hold will break a sleep in the first place.
Can I suggest an experiment for the guy with the toon that wants to know? Find a boss, who will, of course, need 2 sleeps or holds to have an effect. In rapid succession hit him with a Sleep, the Hold, then a second Sleep.
If the Hold cleared the first Sleep, the second Sleep won't have any effect. If the Sleep mags are still present after the Hold, the second Sleep will work.
Question answered! -
[ QUOTE ]
Oh, just so you know Kin, if Regen Aura is up (and active, IE, you've dropped it) the +Regen negates AP's -Heal, so you can spam it all ye want.
[/ QUOTE ]
Not quite negates; you still can't take any "forced" healing while AP's -Heal is up.
Natural health recovery still takes place, though, and if this happens to be boosted by RegA, etc... you still get the benefit of that boost through the -Heal.
Which I'm sure is what you meant. -
Hmmm, you're starting to convince me.
Flight's already open for Sally, so taking AS wouldn't "waste" a pool slot there (not that it greatly matters for the 38 pick!), so will give it a go on test and see how it feels.
In 3 levels time. -
Hmmmm - thanks for the advice folks; at present my last power pick pre-Ancillaries is still some way off, but I have to admit Flurry's looking tempting.
Everything else I could take at that level's a bit of a donkey too, so I might as well take a donkey that looks a bit like a fun power (if I squint slightly). -
[ QUOTE ]
Believe it's only about -5% so not exactly worth it for the tohit debuff.
The -perception is very nice though.
[/ QUOTE ]
As Archy says; the acc debuff is more of a nice side effect than something to take the power for in itself.
The blinding aspect, though, can be very handy. Cast it on a mob (it's autohit, and non-aggroing) to affect his entire group, then walk right past them. Or, if you're in a full room and think there's danger of the meleers aggroing a second group while they finish off the first, Smoke the extras to stop them noticing anything. -
Yep, a very good TF all - the final team finished up being:
1) Sally Forth
2) Klepsilon
3) Vig'rid
4) Carronade
5) Primus
6) Silver Racer
7) Penguin Shark
8) Kantana Strike
With only a handful of faceplants (main credits to Penguin and Silver, who just seemed to have a knack for it) and minimal SKing.
Got about 6 bars off it myself, which makes my 35 power that much closer!
We'll have to do this again some time... -
OK, final(ish) lineup is:
1) Sally Forth (34 Ice/Ice Tank)
2) Klepsilon (31 PB) (will prob be SKed to 34 on the day)
3) Vig'rid (35 BS/SR Scrapper [autoexemped])
4) Carronade (34 ?/? Tank [SEed])
5) Primus (35 Ice/Ice Blaster)
6) Silver Racer (30 MA/SR Scrapper) (SKed to 33)
7) Penguin Shark (32 Ice/En Tank) (SKed to 34)
8) Angel Storm (Defender, IIRC)
Klep's PMed me to say he's running a little late, so we may not kick off until 2:15pm or so.
See you all soon! -
Sure Coin - consider yourself in at slot 6! (Glacé cherries, please)
-
Time for a Friday evening update of the roster so far:
1) Sally Forth (34 Ice/Ice Tank)
2) Klepsilon (31 PB) (will prob be SKed to 34 on the day)
3) Vig'rid (35 BS/SR Scrapper [autoexemped])
4) Carronade (34 ?/? Tank [SEed])
5) Primus (35 Ice/Ice Blaster)
6)
7)
8)
2 more needed to meet the entry requirements, although if need be we've probably got a solid enough team to temporarily get 2 extras on board just for the kickoff.
A defender or controller would be nice - anyone out there interested? -
Thought I'd try to get this one under the belt of my tanker before she outlevels it, and as it needs 7 to start she'll need a bit of help!
Details here, in summary it's levels 30-35 vs pretty much nothing but Crey.
Anyone interested, book a place here or show up on the day by Manticore in Bricks.
Team list:
1) Sally Forth (34 Ice/Ice Tank)
2)
3)
4)
5)
6)

I'm guessing he was referring to me standoff - but as I said in a PM, wandering over to that side of the pennines isn't likely
[/ QUOTE ]
I'd suspected as much; now he's edited his post it makes rather more sense. -

Georide themed named? I think you'd better go back and study Geography. Or Geodieography. Probably both.
[/ QUOTE ]
Neither.
I think you'd better go back and study colloquial English, or Google searches. Probably both.
-
As usual things didn't go to plan - no sign of either 50, but the Rikti got a hiding anyway.
Thanks to:
Ellana
Mr TPF
Pinkette
for their help - xp and badges all round! -
With those power sets I'd say it's not needed; useful, maybe, but very definitely not needed.
See how things play as you get into the 20s, and go for it if you start running dry in long combats, but with QR and a low end set like Claws I think it'll be a luxury rather than a necessity. -
Welcome both; the level 34 Rikti are in for a very nasty surprise.
-
More gratz to you Unthing! Keep the 50s coming!
