  1. Syra: Will do, and hope you're well again soon.

To everyone else: On the Synapse front we now only have the 1 melee toon, which makes 2 teams a rather bigger challenge.

Does anyone have a melee toon they're OK switching to, or does Team A feel brave and want to try a melee-less run? Might be able to slide a blaster over from Team 1 if you think that will help...
  2. OK, after a bit of head-scratching I think we have 2 viable teams:

    Team 1
    1) Shafty McTwang (20 Arr/En Blaster)
    2) Bucky The Hare (20* Arr/Elec Blaster) or Rabbit (15 Fire/Fire Blaster)
    3) ICU (20* Emp/? Defender)
    4) @Kronos: Magnesium (lvl16 blaster) or Ogon (lvl 16 fire/kinetics)
    5) Marine Brandy (20 AR/En Blaster)
    6) Crimson Vengeance (16 BS/Regen Scrapper)

    Team A
    1) Solar Blitz (20* Fire/Fire Blaster)
    2) @Syra (20* Cl/Inv Scrapper)
    3) Idunn (20* Fire/Kin Controller)
    4) X-Raze (?? Rad/Rad Defender)
    5) Cosmic Protector (17 En/En Blaster)

We have no tanks at all, but that aside both teams have 1 scrapper, 1 defender and a shed-load of blasters. Take the Clockwork King down quickly before he does the same to us!

See everyone at Synapse in Skyway at 6:00pm (UK)...expect frantic rejigging as some unexpected people show up and others on the list don't show at all.

Not yet you haven't; the 23rd is today.
  4. OK, what with this and the 1AT forum we're suddenly over-full.

    Currently signed up are:

    1) Shafty McTwang (20 Arr/En Blaster)
    2) @Syracuse (20* Cl/Inv Scrapper)
    3) @Jummy (15-ish Blaster)
    4) Crimson Vengeance (16 BS/Regen Scrapper)
    5) Michael Lucis (16-ish (?) Fire/Fire Tank)
    6) X-Raze (?? Rad/Rad Defender)
    7) Marine Brandy (20 AR/En Blaster)
    8) Bucky The Hare (20* Arr/Elec Blaster)
    9) Cosmic Protector (17 En/En Blaster)
    10) @Augury (20* Fire/Kin Controller)

    * = Autoexemped

I've guessed levels from a few clues give in people's posts here, and don't have a full list of toon names, so feel free to supply or correct anything in there.

So far we have 5 level 20s and 5 people at the lower range for the TF, so with SKing we should be able to get everyone up to 19-20 on the day. Assuming all turn up we'll be 2 teams, but I won't even try to plan team splits until Saturday when any others might have stepped up to the line.

More names welcome, and see everyone Saturday!
  5. After a while tanking on The Other Server I thought I'd give an old Union alt a bit of loving.

So....any interest in a Synapse run, which I'd like to squeeze in before my blasterette completely outlevels it? If so, sign up below:

    1) Shafty McTwang (20 Arr/En Blaster)
    2)
    3)
    4)
    5)
    6)
    7)
    8)

    Provisional kickoff time: 6:00pm (UK)
  6. Gratz to you both - out with the Khelds!
  7. I'll go for them like a shot.

The few times I've tried the "OMG kill the quant!" bit is when the quant's shown up some way off, and I'm been playing team tank in Dwarf form with lots of mobs around me. In those cases dashing over to take the quant out personally would be very liable to scatter aggro all over the place, jeopardising the squishies.

What usually happens at that point is the team completely ignore me, and stand and watch as the quant 3-4 shots me into the ground...
  8. Yep, a great run - thanks to Team Sally, which in the end turned out to be:

    Sally Forth
    Foresight
    Raziel X
    Drk Knight
    Nathaniel
    Super Electron
    Aurora Violet
    Nanoleki

We stormed through (although not quite as quickly as the other team did!), with the only significant stumble being a few near-wipes at the start of the penultimate mission. Stupid damn Quartzes!

Also - nice try at soloing Jurassik, Nath, but that was never going to end well...

Next up Sally and her Task Force Commander badge will be heading off for the Sewer and Eden trials...but only after she's gotten a few more levels so she can actually get onto them!

Edit: Oh yes, and the upper limit of Numina was 38. My bad.
  9. OK, now we're cooking! A few more people, including a potential tank, which means we should be able to get 2 teams going and find everyone a spot. If @Dr Gloom can bring Power Stone along then we can make these teams:

    1) Sally Forth (37 Ice/Ice Tank)
    2) Foresight (40* Arr/TA Defender)
    3) Raziel X (35 Ill/Rad Controller)
    4) Drk Knight (40* MA/SR Scrapper)
    5) Nathaniel (35 Fire/Kin Controller)
    6) Super Electron (38 En/En(?) Blaster)
    7) Aurora Violet (40* Em/El Defender)
    [8) Perdix (?? PB)]

    1) Power Stone (38 St/St Tank)
    2) Halek (40* En/Fire Blaster)
    3) Disrupt[...] (35 Scrapper/36 Controller)
    4) Dax Ferdas - (40* Ice/Rad Controller)
    5) Thelema (38 D3)
    6) Dr Nightfall (38 WS)

    * = Autoexemped

I've arranged things to try to keep the 2 teams pretty much balanced, with everyone SKable getting a SK up to level 39. @Distruptagon, it's your call whether you bring your scrapper or controller, although FWIW team 2 would probably be slightly better balanced with the scrapper.

Perdix is a provisional for team 1; a SG member who's after the badge but has RL commitments in the middle of the TF. If there's a free slot on team 1 he can join at the start, logout for an hour or so in the middle, then log in again for the home run. Perdix, we won't be waiting at the end, so make sure you get back on asap!

If Power Stone can't make it, or no-shows mean we can't get 2 workable teams, it's back to plan A. This will be a single team selected in the original order people posted in:

    1) Sally Forth (37 Ice/Ice Tank)
    2) Foresight (40* Arr/TA Defender)
    3) Raziel X (35 Ill/Rad Controller)
    4) Drk Knight (40* MA/SR Scrapper)
    5) Nathaniel (35 Fire/Kin Controller)
    6) Halek (40* En/Fire Blaster)
    7) Aurora Violet (40* Em/El Defender)
    8) Super Electron (38 En/En(?) Blaster)
    9) Disrupt[...] (35 Scrapper/36 Controller)
    10) Dax Ferdas - (40* Ice/Rad Controller)
    11) Thelema (38 D3)
    12) Dr Nightfall (38 WS)
    13) Doctor Napalm (38 Fire/Rad Controller)

...with everyone after #8 a reserve.

See you all tomorrow, when we can see how futile these cunning plans have turned out to be!
  10. A slightly late update (that damn work stuff's been distracting me... ):

    1) Sally Forth (37 Ice/Ice Tank)
    2) Foresight (40* Arr/TA Defender)
    3) Raziel X (35 Ill/Rad Controller)
    4) Drk Knight (40* MA/SR Scrapper)
    5) Nathaniel (35 Fire/Kin Controller)
    6) Halek (40* En/Fire Blaster)
    7) Aurora Violet (40* Em/El Defender)
    8) Super Electron (38 En/En(?) Blaster)
    9) Disrupt[...] (35 Scrapper/36 Controller)
    10) Dax Ferdas - (40* Ice/Rad Controller)

As things stand slots 9 and 10 are reserves, as I don't think we could get 2 sufficiently balanced teams out of that. If more people sign up, all that could change.
  11. [ QUOTE ]
Bah, been waiting for this for a while and then it fills up before I get back from work.

Oh well, I'll show as a reserve in case someone else is unable to make it.

    [/ QUOTE ]
    Consider yourself 1st reserve

That said if we get a few more people up for it we can probably put a second team together anyway. In principle we could do that now (9 people, min team size of 4), but given the levels and ATs I'm not 100% sure we could get 2 "workable" teams...

Edit: BTW Disrupt, which toon were you wanting to take?
  12. And the team was full!

    1) Sally Forth (37 Ice/Ice Tank)
    2) Foresight (40* Arr/TA Defender)
    3) Raziel X (35 Ill/Rad Controller)
    4) [Samaj] (??)
    5) Nathaniel (35 Fire/Kin Controller)
    6) Halek (40* En/Fire Blaster)
    7) Aurora Violet (40* Em/El Defender)
    8) Super Electron (38 En/En(?) Blaster)

    * = Autoexemped

With enough SKs to go round to get everyone SKable up to 39, a couple of blasters for Jurassik-planting fun, and significant amounts of healing, debuffing and control. Hurrah!

If anyone else wants to put their name down I'll do what I can to make multiple teams out of the full roster, and we can make a race of it like we did for Citadel.

With the proviso that so far we only have the one tank on the books, and Raz won't be playing his!
  13. Blimey, that was quick - a few hours in we have:

    1) Sally Forth (37 Ice/Ice Tank)
    2) Foresight (40* Arr/TA Defender)
    3) Raziel X (35 Ill/Rad Controller)
    4) [Samaj] (??)
    5) Nathaniel (35 Fire/Kin Controller)
    6)
    7)
    8)

    * = Autoexemped

Raz, there should be no need for you to tank this time; even on Citadel the plan was for you to take Raz X on the other team and <cough> someone else to tank with you. When that person was a little late, guess who had to fill in the gap...

Anyway, we already have enough to start the TF, although level-wise we have the exact opposite of the usual problem which is too many at the bottom end of the range. And possibly a bit light on damage to take down the GM/M/AV (or whatever the hell he is on missons) Jurassik at the end.

Still, early days so let's see who else is up for it!
  14. Another weekend, another Task Force - this one's Numina, the final jaunt needed for Sally's Task Force Commander accolade! Yay!

Contrary to what the site I've linked to says I think the level range for Numina's 35-40, so if the usual crowd comes there may even be some xp in it for most of us.

So, if you want to go on a 6 mission, 15 hunt TF that brings back all your favourite memories of Perez for the final mission door, sign up below:

No, I'm Icen, with a similar tech-suited bio to Sally! We met at Talos station a couple of weeks back.

    [/ QUOTE ]
    Ah yes, I recall!

Tech suits FTW, although it does make fitting into SG-based uniforms a bit of a challenge. (Basically you have to make do with a token overlay of SG colours on the suit, and that's their lot.)
  16. [ QUOTE ]
Hey Standoff, didn't realise you were Sally Forth

    [/ QUOTE ]
They seek him here, they seek him there,
    Those villains seek him everywhere.

Is he in Perez? Is he in Fault?
Nobody's certain, Stand has too many alts.[1]

Hi Prox - yep, she's me, or maybe vice versa! Were you one of the horde last night?

[1] With apologies to Baroness Emmuska Orczy.
  17. IIRC this is a pretty quick mission - more like 10-20 minutes than 30-40.

Anyway, you're welcome; if you're about at kickoff time and want to come along send me a tell!

(Provisional meetup point - IP station. Not that it really matters.)
  18. Hi Dave - good to hear you enjoyed the TF; it was a hoot, and certainly much more enjoyable than I'd anticipated!

Re. badge missions, you can do these whenever you want; the only possible restriction is if the mission's set in a hazard zone, and you're not high enough level to get in and make it to the mission door!

Other prerequisites come in for the accolade itself; for the Conspiracy Theorist one you need to get a few exploration badges, complete the Doctor's Ally mission and (the challenging one) get the badge for arresting 100 Paragon Protectors. As soon as you complete the last item on this list you get the accolade.

And Perdix, you're welcome - although unless someone of around Sally's level signs up one or the other of you or Yamarashi will need to hang back and get no xp (but you will both get the badge).
  19. My tanker Sally Forth just picked up this badge mission, and as it's a prerequisite for the Conspiracy Theorist/Crey Pistol Accolade thought I'd offer an open invite.

The mission's in IP, so no level limits on who can come along; anyone interested, post to this thread.
  20. We came, we split into 2 teams, we collectively kicked Council behind for 2 1/2 hours and finished within 1 minute of each other!

Thanks to all that made it, commiserations to Snow who turned up some time after both teams had set off, and Night Brawl who finally premanently dropped out of our team after major d/c problems.

The guilty parties I went down with were:

    Sally Forth
    Drk Knight
    Mr TPF
    Pinkette
    Robo Einstein
    FreezingFog

    Rather small screenies follow:

    Team 1
    Both teams

    Edit: Numina next...
  21. OK, looks like we hit a high water mark with 14 people, and now we've slipped back to 11 (Flush has PM'ed me to say he can't make it either).

As we're getting close to kickoff I've done a bit of groundwork and made a provisional split into 2 teams:

    1) Sally Forth (36 Ice/Ice Tank - autoexemp to 30)
    2) Drk Knight (40 MA/SR Scrapper - autoexemp to 30)
    3) Yamarashi (25 Scrapper - probably SKed to 29)
    4) *Golden Girl (?? Herself - bet she autoexemps too!)
    5) Mr TPF (34 Ea/Em Controller)
    6) Pinkette (25 MA/SR Scrapper)

    1) Klepsilon (34 PB - yup, AEed)
    2) Vig'rid. (46 BS/SR Scrapper - autoexemp to 30)
    3) Zuriel (28 PB)
    4) Raz (27 Inv/EM Tank)
    5) Entrino (29 D3)

As far as possible I've tried to keep known duos (Raz and Snow, Mr TPF and Pinkette) together, arrange levels so everyone can SK up to 29-ish if they want to, and pick alts so each team's moderately balanced.

Team #2 may be a bit light on damage, and we could probably get away with moving a scrapper (Yama, perhaps?) over. Alternatively if we can't find a #6 for team 2 I can temporarily bring my 38 scrapper on to make the headcount right, switch back to Sally once they're started, then switch back to the scrapper if they need more help against their AV at the end. This isn't a ploy to get 2 of my toons the same badge on the same night, honest!

Anyway, best laid plans etc... - let's see who turns up in an hour's time and take it from there!
  22. Updated list, with acknowledgements to the neighbour that's obligingly left a wireless node unsecured as I visit my parents' house in Derbyshire.

    1) Sally Forth (36 Ice/Ice Tank - autoexemp to 30)
    2) Drk Knight (40 MA/SR Scrapper - autoexemp to 30)
    3) Vig'rid. (46 BS/SR Scrapper - autoexemp to 30)
    4) *Golden Girl (?? Herself - bet she autoexemps too!)
    5) *Klepsilon (34 PB - yup, AEed)
    6) Yamarashi (25 Scrapper - probably SKed to 29)
    7) Snow Angel (still a mystery)
    8) Raz (34 Il/Rd Controller - yadda, yadda)
    9) Mr TPF (34 Ea/Em Controller)
    10) Pinkette (25 MA/SR Scrapper)
    11) *Ghostmaker (27 Tank) or 01011001 (26 Blaster)
    12) Blush (27 WS)
    13) Robo Einstein (30 Ki/El Defender)

Flush, it's definitely Sunday (has never been anything else!), at 7:30pm UK time.

It's looking very like we'll have enough for 2 teams (can divvy up between them on the night, when we've seen who turns up), either complete or if need be we can fake things a bit by bringing alts on to get the other team started.
  23. No worries Nach - a shame, and you'll be missed, but there shouldn't be any trouble putting at least one team together in any event.
  24. An update, as it's Friday afternoon and this is looking like a much better alternative than work:

    1) Sally Forth (36 Ice/Ice Tank - autoexemp to 30)
    2) Drk Knight (40 MA/SR Scrapper - autoexemp to 30)
    3) Vig'rid. (46 BS/SR Scrapper - autoexemp to 30)
    4) Carronade (32 Tanker - autoexemp to...you get the idea)
    5) *Golden Girl (?? Herself - bet she autoexemps too!)
    6) *Klepsilon (34 PB - yup, AEed)
    7) Yamarashi (25 Scrapper - probably SKed to 29)
    8) Snow Angel (still a mystery)
    9) Raz (34 Il/Rd Controller - yadda, yadda)
    10) Mr TPF (34 Ea/Em Controller)
    11) Pinkette (25 MA/SR Scrapper)
    12) *Ghostmaker (27 Tank) or 01011001 (26 Blaster)

With * added to people that aren't 100% sure they can make it.

Thanks for the info Oneiros - I'd got things almost completely backwards. (I only use the forums very occasionally myself, but they are handy for some things!)
  25. Standoff

    Respec

    Nice guide! A few extras:

    - The glowy crates in the Sgt Clayton mission are actually coolant belts; the more of these you click on, the more you get offered outside the reactor core. But if you don't click on any of them at all, the game seems to decide you're a team of noobs that needs all the help it can get and gives you a full 8 coolant belts. All or nothing, decide which way you want to go!

    - If someone has TP Foe much fun can be had by porting the reactor building proximity bombs into mobs and using a ranged attack to set them off.

    - Even if you find the key at an early stage you might want to clear all the other rooms off the main entry hall. If you face TPing mobs in the core and one decides to take up lodgings in an unopened room it can be a mare to find them.

    - On a related note, if it seems like it's been way too long between waves there may be a runner/TPer in the reactor corridor or beyond. The next wave won't start until the previous one's been completely cleared, so send a good soloer toon to check things out!

    - The reactor core's pretty robust, and the number of heals the coolant belts grant you is limited (each one does a lot of healing though!). Try to restrain yourself from healing the reactor every time it takes a little scuff, just give it a burst when/if it goes under 50% health, or top it up between waves.
