  1. OK, it'll be easier to postpone now, before anyone's firmly booked for it, so the jaunt's now officially rescheduled for tomorrow afternoon.

  2. Hmmmm - afraid the raid's unmakeable by me, as I'm doing a pre-emptive anti-Xmas pudding gym visit straight from work.

    As far as the Pal badge goes, is the raid likely to be over by 9:00pm? If not I'll postpone the mission, as I can see there being a lot of badgers tied up on the raid.
  3. No, that's no longer tonight.

    Word's reached my controller, Grafite, that a certain noobish tanker's been wandering around without Unyielding up again, and consequently gotten himself kidnapped and dragged off to Praetorian Earth.

    The mission to get him back (for better or worse) is queued up in Graf's list, and she's ready to do the deed as soon as the team's good to go.

    So, if you want to save the day (and earn the badge!) sign up here!

  4. Yes - you can do the reactor trial up to 3 times for the respec (and as many times as you want for an SO reward) by the time you're 50. You can do any of the "versions" of the trial for the respec too; you'll just get autoexemped if you're too high for it's level range.

    Hey, definitely no problem with you hitting 50 - just gratz! - and I haven't exactly been twiddling my thumbs in the meantime.

    Shiny controllers distracted me, and I've been playing my overpowered nerf-worth Fire/Rad on Union. Dinged 48 last night, 50 is nigh, so may be back to Sally soon!

  13. By the same token you should be able to create a toon of any level and AT whenever you want, with a free choice of whatever enhancements you want, for no inf, and get all the veteran rewards on the day you start.

    After all, we pay for the game, and would get more enjoyment out of starting a high level!


    No, I don't really mean that, and don't agree with your argument either; Kheldians are worth waiting for, and the fact you have to put a bit of effort in to get at them makes them even more of an enjoyable when you finally get there.

    We pay money to play the game on Cryptic's terms, and those terms include not getting Kheldians straight off the bat.
  14. Random thoughts:

    * Swap Health for Hurdle - the recovery speed doesn't make a lot of difference in combat, and the odds are on a team he'll have someone to heal him up quickly anyway. On the other hand extra mobility from Hurdle can be very handy in and out of combat.

    * Nova slotting is a little odd (typo?): 1 Acc, 3 Rechg, 2 Dam. Swap a Rechg for a Dam - bigger bangs = better.

    * Similarly putting a Heal in Shocking Bolt's an original move.

    * Super Speed + Stealth's OK if he wants to do that sneaky stuff (a bit Defendery/Controllery for my liking ), as an alternative he could swap these for Aid Other + Aid Self or Stimulant + Aid Self. These can be very handy solo or teamed, although he would need to steal a few slots from somewhere else for them to be really useful.

    * On which note...Air Sup may be a bit overslotted; it'll never do that much damage (and it's all the highly resisted Smashing) compared to the En attacks - it's main selling point is the soft control from the knockdown, so he could probably lose the Dmg slots there.

    * Some way ahead, but IIRC EMP Pulse was rather poor, and I respecced it out. A novelty power like Resuscitate could be put in here.

    Um, I don't think the villain Khelds are in I8 - last I heard they were hoping to get them in for I9.

    Ah - gotcha. In that case I agree completely; from a purely practical point of view taunt auras are automatic anyway, Taunt itself only cycles so quickly, so there has to be a bit of spare time a tanker might as well do a bit of damage in. Standing there like a pudding because "tankers shouldn't hit things" won't help anyone.

    Plus, as Bridger said, hitting something with an attack will grab the attention of several mobs via gauntlet so even from a "tanks should just grab aggro" slant it's still a good thing to do!

    One can always speculate, but I've seen an awful lot of posts - from reliable people - saying "gauntlet just won't hold AV aggro". I've seen zero posts saying it will.

    If you've tried to hold AV aggro with gauntlet, and it worked, then all well and good; as things stand I'll call it not working as close to established as we can get it, not a misconception.

    Thanks to Noir for the setup, and everyone for pausing at the final mission while I battled in and out of Oxford centre against the heavy traffic. If only TP worked in RL too...

    And update here - an unavoidable commitment's come up Saturday pm, which would take me out of game from roughly 2:15-3:45pm (i.e. about 2% of the total ).
