  1. To be frank I wouldn't even call this a bug; a bug's where code doesn't work as you though it would, or you've made a mistake in the design in some way. In this case the installer's working exactly as intended, and after this long and this many reports on the forums they must know how it's working.

Not having put a proper, EU-capable, version in place is simply poor distribution practice, customer relations and QA, in roughly equal parts.
  2. Hi Zanishi,

A suggestion here - a general "on for TFs most evenings" post will help, but a more focussed way to put a team together is to start a thread along the lines of:

"Numina TF, Saturday 20th Sept, 9:00pm (UK)"

That way others interested in that specific TF will notice, the thread's at the top of the post list and you can get an idea of support and team balance ahead of time.

From past experience you often get several teams'-worth of volunteers, so can pick and choose the ATs you'd really like (and if you're feeling ambitious organise several teams, and make a race of it on the day!).

Often you will get a core of regulars, all getting together for each new TF that's announced, although at 36 Amamba may be a bit "old" for that - the mid 30s is where the TFs start running out.

"Stuttered" as in I clicked the wrong power and launched an aoe fear against the mob before we were ready to fight :'(

    [/ QUOTE ]
No worries - that was while we were setting up again after the first time wipe, and there was enough plantage later too, so you were just going with the flow.

As you say, all rather good, and wouldn't say no to a rerun myself, either.
  4. It was 9:20pm IIRC.

Thanks to all for a v good team and to Nine_Claws for organising; charged through it like good (although very villainous) 'uns until the last mission, then stuttered a bit but got the big guy in the end.

And even my "meh" Stupify IO turned out to be worth 750k at the Black Market!
  5. Now that is one Big Damn Base! Do you have tech --> arcane plug adaptors?

Hmmm...as an alternative, my villains might keep an eye out for an Elec/Elec blaster the next time they're in a PvP zone.

One of those, plus that "bed with restraints" furniture option and a set of jump leads...

    [/ QUOTE ]

Listen i dont want to see you going through all that, as your a mate you can buy some of our unused power and control at a discounted rate

    [/ QUOTE ]
Sounds good; interested in a trade for a giant hamster wheel, Speed Boosted empath and a cattle prod?

(That one didn't work either; might try a /Regen with QR + Stamina next time)
  7. Hmmm...as an alternative, my villains might keep an eye out for an Elec/Elec blaster the next time they're in a PvP zone.

One of those, plus that "bed with restraints" furniture option and a set of jump leads...
  8. I'm up for this with Steel Venom - level 37 (or maybe 38 - I forget) Bot/Poison MM.

Fairly standard build with Group Fly, all Leadership toggles and Poison's engaging PukeyRez. And a lot of robots.
  9. I can see the elegant simplicity in that approach, but...I'm too much of a completest.

Rather than a single teleport I can adjust to get anywhere, I want enough porters to be able to go straight to any destination without any fiddling[1], storage for everything, all the workbenches and a fully kitted out medibay. And a pony.

(Hoping the vet rewards come through on that last item...)

[1] The 5 minutes spent trying to find the right port is fine, though.

But then I'm still annoyed that you have to pay to place your own personal items...Why do I have to pay to stick a gun I stole off of a Rikti to my base wall?

    [/ QUOTE ]
I get the feeling Gordon Brown's involved at some level...
  11. Oh yes, I'll get there eventually, and when I do finally get to that next stage the base will be so flush with energy and control I'll be able to add anything I want for the foreseeable future.

It's just a shame that there isn't some intermediate level of power/control for a few hundred thousand prestige, say, that would give 2-300 power/control. Then you could add a modest number of functional items to the base that bit sooner.
  12. Ouch! Ah well; thanks to you both for the confirmation.

Going from memory I guess the anomaly's more the starter stuff, which IIRC was put in for teeny SGs after the howls about how expensive everything was initially. Even so, an intermediate step would have been nice - IIRC you go from the combo unit, producing 75 power, straight to the next highest which produces 1,000 (and is priced to match! ). A bit extreme, that.

Time to get levelling, I suppose...
  13. A separate ask of something I'd merged into an earlier post...

My mini-SG (mainly personal alts) has a small but friendly base that's run out of power and control from the starter oversight centre and combo generator.

    The costs of these items are 50k + 25k = 75k total.

As far as I can see the next available step up is Energy Terminal (150k) + Control Room (50k) + Power Crystal (225k (!)) + Bookshelf (106k) = 531k total. Blimey.

Is there really no intermediate step between 75k and > 500k? Perhaps I've missed some crafted items options...

    Withdraw /Regen

Aaaaah, I see! From the title I'd taken this to be a "Regen is too uber, and should be completely removed from the game" thread.

I'd just popped in to warm myself from the flames.
  15. D'oh! Spot on! I'd even noticed the beacons I was trying to attach were tech-style, vs the rest of the base being arcane. But had assumed tech was the default beacon style, and it would change to the "correct" type as soon as it was attached to something.

Switched to the Arcane Teleport tab, created a beacon from there, and it worked first time.

    Thanks Gen!
  16. I've recently started dabbling in bases, mainly for a small VG with half a dozen members (who are mostly my alts), and so far have a fairly standard small base/transport hub setup. Oversight Centre, combined power/control unit, "second from smallest" TP room, 2 teleports and 4 anchors.

As of this morning that was working; the 4 anchors went to the 4 lowest level villain zones, and everything was just inside the power/control units limits.

Then my highest villain in the group got the Nerva beacon badge, I tried to swap that in to replace the Port Oakes one, and problems developed. The Port Oakes beacon deleted fine, and I could put the marker for the Nerva beacon in the base, but for the life of me I can't get the beacon to attach to the teleporter.

The teleporter's info indicates it's now only got 1 of 2 devices attached, I've tried putting the new beacon in the old one's position, in an unambiguous slot on the wall to the left of the porter (see screenie for TP room layout), dragging the beacon onto the porter and vice versa and looking for anything hopeful on info dialogs. No joy

If I delete the Nerva beacon and try to re-attach the Port Oakes beacon, I get the exact same problem.

All input on the obvious solution I must be missing is welcome!

The next question's far less specific; with the base as described above, it's near enough maxed out on power and control; I'll need more of both if much more in the way of kit's to be added. A quick test showed you can't add another Oversight Centre and power/control combo to a base, so I'll have to move up to dedicated power and control rooms. But...how expensive are these!?

While the initial Oversite plus power/control setup costs 75k, it looks like it costs 400k+ to move to dedicated power rooms + source and control room + source. Is it really such a big step up, or am I overlooking something?

    Deleting Rooms.

Yep, the only things you don't get refunds for are salvage used to make personal items.
  18. Gratz MaX...but hell, you're even slower than me!
  19. Thanks, and sorry I was to slow to stop you faceplanting as you went afk to type this!
  20. Further update - tried to get in the base tonight...and succeeded.

    Go go Power Devs!
  21. Aha - got a response back from GM Max this morning; copying the appropriate bits here:

    [ QUOTE ]

The problem you have reported is a known issue and the development team is already working on an appropriate solution. However, we are going to forward your enquiry to our Quality Assurance (QA) department in order to provide the development team with as much information as possible.

This issue is usually resolved by allowing time to pass - please could you try re-entering your base and see if it now allows you to do so? If it does not, you could try logging in again after the next server maintenance period.

    [/ QUOTE ]
So, a known problem (quite possibly the one suggested by Thunderspark), and I should be able to get back in at some point. That works for me.
  22. Hmmmm, now that's worth a try...[goes away and tries it]...no, exactly the same as last time for both paying rent and trying to get into the base.

But...this time I did click the "Show Existing SGs" option for the registration guy, and got a completely empty list! I guess either some SG-related database is down, or that particular toon can't access it for some reason...

Can anyone else check this and see if it's just me, or a general problem?

(And definitely a small plot, as this SG never had remotely enough prestige to be able to upgrade it. )

Edit: Update on this; the "Existing SGs" list being empty was a red herring - press the "Show top 100" button it was updated for the alt.

Anyway, looks like I haven't overlooked anything too obvious, so time for a petition...
  23. Good question. It's impossible to be 100% sure, as the registration guy doesn't think there's any rent due so isn't giving a figure for how much would be needed. He's very clearly saying "You're already paid up", rather than "You can't afford it".

But in any case...the total prestige earned ever for the SG is 63k (one man job...), and immediately prior to trying to pay the rent I'd just done a mission in SG mode earning (maybe) a few hundred prest. Plus there was probably some spare prest (maybe a few thousand) floating around from back when.

Does that sound like it should be enough?
  24. With my latest main inching towards 50 I've started paying attention to alts, and this morning had a quick go with a low 20s blaster who's got his own single-member SG. Unsuprisingly when I tried to enter his base I found the rent was well overdue.

So, pop to Atlas, click the guy behind the counter then his "Pay rent" option, and got a "Your rent has already been paid" message. Back to the base portal, it's still saying rent due and you can't get in. Back to the counter, he still insists I'm paid up.

I'm not a base expert, so the question is...am I missing something obvious here, or is the one to petition?
