  1. It's mentioned by phreek towards the end of this post, which despite the name "Official i12 Bugs & Complaints Thread" isn't pinned and doesn't have a single red name post so I'm guessing isn't actually official at all.

Other than that, no other reports found.
  2. My pets were all slotted with set IOs, albeit not literally "rare" ones; no commons.

FWIW I've just checked how my old (pre-IO, and not re-slotted) Fire controller's imps were working, and SOs were increasing damage there. That's looking at a different AT, category of pets and enhancement type, mind, so of very limited[1] applicability to the original MM issue. May do more tests later...

    [1] Zero.
  3. At the risk of crossposting, thought I'd better highlight the issue ThatBloke raised here, which appears to apply to MM pet IOs (and possibly those in other powers - that's not yet confirmed).

I've run a few tests, and it seems that IOs aren't boosting pet damage at all - if anyone wants to check my methodology, and my results, extra input on this is welcome.

As sort-of consolation this would explain why my Necro/Dark struggled so much to get through the Midnight Squad arc; her pets were only doing 50% of expected damage, and probably missing much more too...

    Seek points in Champs, you will not find;
'tis but "inspired" by the table kind.
When it comes out the truth we'll see
But began as Marvel so no points there'll be.
  5. Thanks peeps! Now, to keep things busy have have I got a toon in the 40s I can get up to 50 before the VEATs arrive...?

Edit: Overtaken by events - servers are down for I12 release, and it looks like I won't have to pick that 40s toon after all.
  6. Why thankee, one and all!

Now for the usual dilemma - which toon next?

Awesome, absolutely awesome. I too can appreciate great use of the language. I'd like to add a type of name though, the comedy/spoof name - for instance, I already happen to know there's a Captain Obvious out there because it was already taken... anyone who's seen Whose Line Is It Anyway will know what I mean as well.

"Thank god you're here, Constantly-Being-Hit-By-A-Car Man!"

"Glad you could make it, Proctologist Man!"

"Thanks; I was just looking up a few friends."

    Classic stuff.

    Edit: Nice treatise Shocker!
  8. Nice one Sing! Sonics were involved somewhere, presumably?
  9. Hmmmm, wazzzat?

Ooooh, yes, Biscuits is exactly right; I was so busy looking at one error that I added another all of my own making.

Erm, it must be Vista's fault.

    Or not.

As the edit period has presumably lapsed, it might be best to post a suitably updated version of the original as a new thread, then ask GR to delete this one entirely.

If you want a bit of proofreading for any repost you're welcome to PM me.

    * You don't need to use beginchat when including character information:

    /bind h "say Hi $target, how's things?"

    [/ QUOTE ]

Except that bind doesn't have a thing to do with character information on channels.

    [/ QUOTE ]
Never said it did; it was a response to where you said:

    [ QUOTE ]
Remember, character information binds must start with beginchat. For example /bind z beginchat $name $level

    [/ QUOTE ]
    ...which also doesn't mention channels.
  12. Hey, it is Summer too - cheers Carni!

    /em scampers off

/em comes back with dopey grin

Actually, a few more things regarding the OP (this could invoke the offside rule for all I know...)

    * You don't need to use beginchat when including character information:

    /bind h "say Hi $target, how's things?"

    ...is entirely acceptable.

If present the beginchat would copy the rest of the bind into the chat box, ready for final manual editing and/or the pressing of the return key to set if off.

    * To speak to a specific channel, use chan_send "[channel]", not say $$[channel]. For example:

    /bind h "chan_send "Union Overlords" Hey, $name is back!"

    More realistically:

    /bind h "beginchat /chan_send "Union Overlords" "

...to enter chat mode with the prefix to talk to a specific channel pre-entered.

You seem to be missing command deliminators in a lot of the chain binds.

    EG :
/macro squid say SQUID FORM! powerexc_name Bright Nova

    should be :
/macro squid say "SQUID FORM!"$$powerexc_name Bright Nova

    or similiar.

    [/ QUOTE ]
I've never seen powerexc_name used before - I'd go for:

/macro squid say "SQUID FORM!"$$powerexec_name Bright Nova"

    ...with a closing quote too.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Bah. Damn you standoff, you win this round

(although you've got an extra quote in there somewhere so lets call it a score draw )

/macro squid say "SQUID FORM!"$$powerexec_name "Bright Nova"

    ?

    [/ QUOTE ]
You're right - but I'll try to pull ahead with a bit of further quote fiddling:

/macro squid "say SQUID FORM!$$powerexec_name Bright Nova"

...so, a pair of quotes surrounding the entire "active" part of the bind, but no other quotes anywhere at all. Your turn!

Matey with all due respect while we all got concerns over this please try not to overreact until the sets are out for testing and we get some more feedback regarding values and so on. Only thing you achieve is give ammunition to people that hate PvP to hate it more. There is a thread we have expressed some concerns without crying doom and you can express your concerns over there as well but please dont blow it out of proportion.

    [/ QUOTE ]

What exactly is the argument against both sides having the same ATs (possibly with different names) as each other?

Maybe one or two sets wouldn't cross over very well, thematically speaking, (i'm thinking of Stalkers and Defenders here) but this game emulates comics, or attempts to, right?

And comic book heroes and villians can share the same type of powers. So what is wrong with the ATS crossing over?

It would sure stop this kind of (maybe valid) type of thread and no side can argue the other is over powered. It seems to me it would straighten a whole lot of aggro.

I cannot see a down side. If you take your arden hardcore CoX player or PvPer hat off and look at it objectively, what actually would the problem to this suggestion be?

    [/ QUOTE ]
Not something I agree with myself, but I've seen the more...vocal...CoV players objecting about Powerset Proliferation because it would weaken the Unique Selling Points of the Villain-only powersets. Their argument seems to be that powers you can't get Hero-side are one of the big draws to Villains.

If you're taking that view of things, I can see making the ATs as well as the powers themselves work on both sides something they'd throw their hands up at.
  17. Ooooh, missed this completely when I saw ROD earlier today!

Apologies Stryker, and big gratz to you both!

No offence Dior, but I guess you must be differant from everyone else because most people who post a build like this here or something that wasn't a guide would have being told "This shouldn't be here....put it on the Controller bit"

Anyway have fun in our nice little double standard forum

    /em Shrug

I used to do that, plus flag my own post for mod attention.

Since GR took over though, the OP's haven't been moved and GR hasn't posted anything either way, so I'm guessing new mod, new policy and stopped making my own posts.

Which is all fair enough - mods are there to interpret and/or make policy, after all.

(This post also flagged for mod lookage, in case one of them wants to give an explicit ruling on this sort of thing)
  19. Cheers - essentially levelling 2 toons from 2 to the high 40s, plus the bonus prestige (after some heinous membership padding with temp accounts ) were enough to do the job.

Mind you, wouldn't like to have to try the same hero side, with its 79 zones and associated inflation of teleporter count/porter rooms/plot size.

Will sit tight and hoard the prest now, and hope the promised "base-oriented issue" appears soon.
  20. Well, my little pocket VG's base seems to be nearing completion - after levelling various alts (and gratefully pocketing a couple of dollops of bonus prestige) I have a minumum plot size that holds:

    1) Porters to all villain zones
    2) Medical room with bay
    3) Workshop with crafting station, vault access, small and med empowerment station, salvage & insp shelves and basic workbench
    4) A few hundred spare power and control

I've just bought a second Workshop to complete the workbench and empowerment set with, but that's more out of a sense of completeness than because of any real need. I can't see much practical reason for using half of the stuff in there now (the porters are the only really useful items IMHO).

    So, what next, if anything?

I can't see the point of expanding the plot size - at > 1.5 mill to go up to the next level it'd take forever to get there, and its not as though there's anything I'd want to put in the extra space if I had it.

Even I'm not deluded enough to make the base raid-capable, when there's only the one active account across all its members.

Other than tarting it up with gratuitous decorations, is that bases "done"?
  21. "I'm known as 'Mist' to my friends."

"Not surprised - I'd slot more Acc if I was you."

Thank you ladies and germs, I'll be here all week...
  22. Ooooh, nice one!

Gratz, and sorry I missed it!
  23. Possibly better asked in Player Questions, or the Tankers forum? (This one's more for people to publish "How to" guides rather than questions on specific builds...anyway, I'll press the button to give GhostRaptor a wave, and let him decide. )

Also, some existing guides for Stone/Stones can be found here.
