If anything I'd say extra slots make a merge easier; previously a merge would have caused all sorts of difficulty if both servers were full for an account. Now, they can just add extra slots to the merged server to take all the toons.
Not that I think a server merge is needed, or would be helpful. -

Because it distracts and annoys you. That's what the real challenge hinders. It's not their power, it's the repetion. There's lots of XP/Imf/Prestige involved - are you willing to face the most annoying thing in your life to benifet? (a bit like farming, I suppose)

Seriously, an arc whose actual objective is annoying the players with repetitive gameplay is doing something very wrong. -

CoX isn't perfect, and there are things that could be changed to make it better.
The fact that everyone disagrees with your suggested changes doesn't necessarily mean we're all blinkered though. It may just mean you're wrong.

I doubt it'd have made that critical a difference back then - a lot of people went to CoX solely because it had no PvP at launch.
In any event, at this point removing the Controller AT (and Dominator, and a lot of Defender, Corruptor and MM powersets would need tweaking (read "nerfing") too) to get rid of CC would lose you an awful lot of the existing player base. Think Star Wars Galaxies all over again... -
CoH - jerk hackers are dupin rares, and unless people don't let GM'S know of wrong doing's in the game it we ruin it.

The players seem to believe that less CC is good. Isn't it interesting that in this PvE oriented game, players are happy with lots of CC and in the PvP game, players are not.

I don't really see how different people liking different things in a different (beta, and hence unfinished) game has any particular bearing on CoX CC. Especially when those people's preferences are taken from forum postings - a notoriously unrepresentative sample. -

It might not be quite customisation, as allowing different animations for the same power's something they've done already for Fly, using the current system. IIRC the underlying code for randomly choosing one animation from a set of several was already part of the game code (for Fly, at least), it'd just never been given more than one animation to choose from before. (Then they added the /flypose system to make it non-random.)
So, it might be possible to add a few extra animations for various (say) MA attacks to make things look a bit more dynamic. Not sure this would be the best use of dev time, mind, given the ever present demand for brand new stuff...maybe something for a new hire to cut their teeth on while getting used to the dev tools? -

At the moment the sound's part of the power animation, while what gets drawn for the weapon's part of the costume.
To change things so costume selections also affect sounds is likely to be significant amounts of work, as it's completely different to the way things are now. -

Latency is measured in ms (As in Milliseconds)
Speed is measured in m/s (As in Metres per Second - and should be close to 299,792,458 m/s for your internet connection)
Bandwidth is measured in (Giga/Mega/Kilo) bits and is just the amount of data you can shove through your pipe at any given time.
Bitrate is measured in (Giga/Mega/Kilo) bits/second.

Steps:
0) /bind u "stuck" (one off thing)
Then...
1) Enter mission.
2a) Press "u". Done.
or
2b) Forget to press "u"...go in to map, and find you're disconnected.
3b) Press "u". Done.
Compared to what MMs need to do to summon pets, or Defenders/Controllers/Corruptors to apply team buffs, this isn't looking very awkward to me. -
Also, as a bit of pedantry's due, you don't call it a "bit rate" when talking about processors.
The "rate" of something's to do with how fast it's happening (in a PC context, a bit rate of 2Mb/s might be used to describe a broadband connection's speed), but for a processor or OS that's not really what's being described. So, an OS simply is 32 bit or 64 bit, in the same way as an engine capacity simply is 1.6 or 2 litres. -

Although tanking in Bodyguard mode wouldn't have been part of the original design intention, as Bodyguard mode was only introduced post-CoV release, mainly to make MM's more playable in PvP.
The original intention, I think, was for pets to go in and take the alpha; perhaps they survive, perhaps they don't, but sacrificing minions to keep the PCs' butts safe sounds like a valid villainous strategy. -
