Wow do you think Bic are gonna get sued by DC cos of all the line drawing that went on over the past 30 years.
[/ QUOTE ]
Inappropriate comparison; a Bic's a very general purpose device usable for writing, drawing any sort of picture and (it seems) picking bike locks. Making a realistic drawing requires real skill and significant practice.
The offline builder's created for the specific and sole purpose of rendering superheroes. Making a realistic hero can be done almost immediately.
You see why Marvel might feel more threatened by one than the other? -

Oh for crying out loud. What, exactly, is the point of this thread? To churn up some more anti-farming propaganda? Well, why not? Let's just add some more negativity, shall we? I mean, there must be at least two people who browse these forums who aren't well aware that farmers are dirty evil scum here only to ruin the gaming experience for everyone else. Oh, wait.
You know, if newbies aren't put off by the filler request /tells, they sure as hell will be by these constant, pointless, flamebait threads that pop up twice a week.
Bravo, all of you. Bravo.

I don't like Mondays much either. -
Getting moved to "Player Questions" or "PvP and Areaa"?
-
Baffled me for a while too. My best guess is that it should be "bunny" (which would at least make grammatical, if not logical, sense).

There is one, but you can't use it in the US or EU.
[/ QUOTE ]
But you're OK to use it mid-ocean on transatlantic flights, if you do a lot of travel with work. -

I mean honestly, do they expect you to wait around to do your door mission in the tutorial just so they can have a few extra mobs in their mission? It's somewhat selfish and not giving the best impression of the community to complete newbies if that is the first communication they ever get in the game.
[/ QUOTE ]
Why not just do it, takes 2 minutes.
[/ QUOTE ]
Yes, but they're my 2 minutes. If 7 other people are roped in, that's almost quarter of an hour of complete strangers' unrewarded time the farmer's wanting them to commit just so he can get extras for himself. That doesn't really sound right.
Plus, if of all the people in all the zones the farmer couldn't find 7 team members without resorting to utter newb toons in Outbreak, shouldn't that give him a hint about just how popular the filling requests are?
Farmers should treat toons in Outbreak like fishermen treat young fish; leave them alone for a while, let them grow a bit, and they can be far more useful later.
[ QUOTE ]
As for impressions well at least they know there is life on the server
[/ QUOTE ]
Sadly, yes.
If nothing else I guess it might encourage them to learn the ignore system... -
Just started a new blueside toon, and was churning along for the Isolator badge in Outbreak.
10 minutes in, got a "Will you join my team for 30 secs to fill?" tell. OK, polite, and didn't follow up with an immediate blind invite, but even so...farming tells to level 2s in Outbreak!? -
And presumably, even with the "cc", it still isn't working?
Random things to try, in that case:
1) Remove the spaces either side of the "$$"
2) Try the "cc" in isolation as its own macro, just to double-check that's valid in itself. -
'evening all
Try changing the "costume_change" for "cc" - "cc" will definitely work, not sure about the long version. Also, remember that the costume slots start at 0, so 2 = the 3rd slot (which may or may not be what you're after). -

- Controller : farmer toon + Fire/Kin Syndrom
- Defender : too squishy + slow
- Scrapper : easy mode + scraplock
- Stalker : easy mode + easy mode in PvP
- Blaster : too squishy + don't know how to play
- Brute : see scrapper
- MM : only one good set, rest is gimp
- Dom : overpowered
- Corr : too slow
[/ QUOTE ]From reading that post Xavier, it appears that you have made the following conclusions:
1) You only play Scrappers/Stalkers as they are easy?
2) You don't like debuff ATs
3) You have no opinions on the other ATs eg. Tankers, EATs
4) You're pretty disillusioned with the game?
5) You're being sarcy

thank god I don't have Vista lol
[/ QUOTE ]
Maybe Windows Mojave is the answer for you? And anyone else who has issues with Vista?
[/ QUOTE ]
Yeeeessss, because (estimated - they aren't clear) - 30 minutes or so having an OS demonstrated to them a on specifically chosen laptop is fully representative of everything they'll ever face.
Edit: Fixed typo -
For what it's worth you'll stay in any friend lists (with the new, possibly unrecognised name), chat channels and SG you're already in.
If anyone has you on global friends they can quickly check that you still have the same global handle, and really are the same toon as before.
Other than that all I can suggest is warning as many people as you can ahead of time, then hoping word gets round quickly afterwards (if you can continue teaming via the people you tipped off, that should let you fill everyone else in). -
[ QUOTE ]
Try the one out you like the look of the most. Then keep £5.99 handy for an immediate respect.Other than that I am sure you will do fine, choose the patron that suits the character.
[/ QUOTE ]
And hope that recent hints about Patron Pools being respeccable out of have been read correctly...
As of today, when you've picked a Pool that toon's stuck with it forever after. -
Um, you want me to give you a potted summary of views I don't agree with?
It's all up there ^^^ [waves arm vaguely at earlier parts of thread] somewhere. -

[ QUOTE ]
Just an interesting note from Posi that I've just come across that may allay some concerns that may be brewing...
[ QUOTE ]
Just a quick follow up:
We have no plans of getting rid of freespecs. Each Issue that brings with it major power changes (which is pretty much every single one, eh?) will bring a freespec with it.
We have no plans of getting rid of the respec trials.
We have no plans of getting rid of the dropped Respec Recipes.
We have no plans of getting rid of the Veteran Respecs that your account earns.
This is simply another way to get a Respec onto your character.
[/ QUOTE ]
Source
And personally I think this is a good thing. For example, my main has done, and used, all three Respec Trials, has used all my vet Respecs and I hate farming (Doing it that is... I have no objection whatsoever to farmers) so I don't have wads of Inf lying around and if I did I'd spend it on things I need more anyway.
If I need another respec I either need to a) Wait another 10 months for my 48 month vet respec, b) Wait for a possible freespec with the next issue or c) spend the price of a pint and a half of beer (which I wouldn't drink anyway) to get one. So with that in mind I can't see any problem with this!
[/ QUOTE ]i guess u missed most of the other post by player on the Us forum they didn't seem too happy about it either, but i don't care it not effect my game play
[/ QUOTE ]
Hardly "most" - at the moment the thread's 12 pages long and I'd estimate there are fewer than 10 "don't like" posts on there (made by a slightly smaller number of posters).
Most of the rest are in favour, with a noticeable minority that don't comment on the respecs themselves but do mock the dislikers a bit. -
Ah, I see, I think. Well, if a typo'ed name really annoyed (or, being a pedant, embarrassed) me I'd either delete it and start over with the right spelling, or if I'd somehow failed to notice until he was higher level I'd consider stumping up the money.
I play on NC's terms, and if they offer an extra for a set price I either pay the price or decide not to take it; either way I don't feel too hard done by. -
[ QUOTE ]
Hey mate you want to pay cos u typed Standuff instead of Standoff and didn't notice thats up to u mate, I don't and frankly don't want u 2 either.
[/ QUOTE ]
After several reads I'm not even vaguely sure what your point is there, or even how many points you're covering.
Should I consider myself insulted? -
[ QUOTE ]
/Rant
I am appalled.
1. I thought new charecter slots were way overpriced, for a £10 box set that gives you 12 slots, 5 slots for a tenner is a joke and I don't even get a free game!
2. 5.99 for a server transfer. WHAT!! Wish someone would pay me that everytime I do a copy/paste. I imagine rename tokens are also grossly overpriced for the privilige of a server search and file change.
3. £6 one respec OMG what a rip off.
[/ QUOTE ]
All of the above are entirely optional - you can play the game at the standard purchasing and subscription rate without paying a penny more.
If you decide you want more slots, or to move a toon to another server so you can play with friends, or a respec now rather than later, you can pay a small amount of money (about that of a few pints of beer, at UK prices) and get any of the above.
Or if you don't, you can not spend the money. If you think they're too expensive you're not losing an awful lot, and no one's forcing you.
[ QUOTE ]
Considering with careful planning and a little reasearch you can pretty much get by not respeccing at all, respecs could be seen as for those who have made some sort of mistake (like thpught handclap sounded fun but couldn't stand the flaming!) then NC are actually charging us for our mistakes. Now does that take the mic or what.
[/ QUOTE ]
Given that you can already get respecs by any and all of:
<ul type="square">[*]Doing a respec trial in-game (up to 3, rather easy these days)[*]Saving inf in-game and buying a recipe at the AH[*]Just sitting on your duff and doing nothing at all, and getting one as a vet reward[*]Wait for the next Issue, and (invariably, so far) get given one for free[/list]...it's not as though NC are treating respecs like gold dust. If you want one now, you can pay inf in game, or run a trial in-game, or if neither of the above is doable and you still want it now, finally have the [u]option[u] of paying a small amount of cash.
[ QUOTE ]
4. What does this mean for the policy of providing respecs at issue for those who powersets have been changed will that continue or not as it's now another way to line NC's pockets.
[/ QUOTE ]
Remains to be seen. Perhaps you should do that, rather than get worked up now about something that you have no evidence at all will actually happen.
[ QUOTE ]
You see this all works on IMO one of the more explotative 'laws' of economics that no matter what it cost for the product to be produced if people want it enough they will pay rediculous amounts in comparison. That's it NC grab em by the dangley bits and squeeze see how long they put up with it, kinda short term vision isn't it.
[/ QUOTE ]
No.
And if you think £6 is a "ridiculous" amount for something that's optional you have a very strange sense of proportion.
[ QUOTE ]
Hey don't get me wrong some people might love it some people might hate it (like me obviously) but IMO that non of us even knew it was on the horizon is another big black mark in NC's community realtions scorebook. Consulation???,
[/ QUOTE ]
NC is a company, at the end of the day we're their customers. Offhand I can't see how a company's under any sort of obligation (legal, moral or otherwise) to consult with existing customers before releasing or choosing prices for a new service.

Whats next Purple recipes £10 a pop????

When it happens, get worked up about it. Until then, it hasn't, so don't. -
