When the invasion's in progress in a zone all regular mobs hide.
If you do this across all zones this would stop progress in all hunt missions and several TFs/SFs for the duration. -

Also I can't shake the feeling that EU seems to get the scraps compared to US servers.
[/ QUOTE ]
In what way? While different people are using them the EU and US servers are running the exact same version of the game. -
According to ParagonWiki, which is occasionally correct, PrintScreen doesn't copy the creation screens to the screen shot folder but it will copy them to the clipboard.
Once/if they're in there, you can paste them into other apps to edit and/or save. -
So might this post be described as a...Suggestion?
-
A very reasonably strategy - one I wish I could follow more often with the 3rd tier support calls that get passed through to me occasionally.
"OK, you're external IT support for CityCorpXXX and you're trying to set up a new database, right?"
"Good, first we need to open the ODBC Data Source window"
"Haven't used that before (?) - OK, you need Administrative Tools"
"That neither? That's one of the items on Control Panel"
<headslap>
"OK, to open Control Panel you need to go to the Start Menu, bottom left..."
I'd laugh in a less hysterical way if these people weren't earning 2-3 times my money for providing the City with their "expertise". -
Using arcane and extensive research techniques[1] I was eventually able to track down this, which looks like it covers the essentials.
[1] I Googled for "nod32 exclusion list"; attached link was 4th from top... -

There'll always the chance of meeting rude idiots when you play; that's just the nature of things (or of people, if you prefer).
From everything I've read you're at least as likely to meet one in the US as over here. -

There's probably been houndreds of people saying this already:
Heroes have sidekicks, villains have lackey's. If you dont want that to be an option, play another game.
[/ QUOTE ]
Actually not that many - this is a forum for discussions, so "live with the status quo or walk" is a pretty poor response.
[ QUOTE ]
Unless, of course, you want 1 hero to have several sidekicks. To make farming easier or something *shrugs*
[/ QUOTE ]
There you go - not well phrased, or actually what the OP suggested, but at least that's an actual argument. And yes, variations on that one have been used a number of times. -
Oh yes - I'm fairly sure this is on the "Don't want to" list at NCSoft, rather than "Want to but too much work".

I am irritated beyond belief that the game that I consider to be better than any out there because of its QOL features does not have a feature where you can pass inf to alts, which all those others have.
[/ QUOTE ]
Irritated beyond belief by a missing feature in an online game? Blimey, I tremble at the thought of how angry you must get at real annoyances like traffic jams or having run out of milk.
Just stay well clear of gamma rays, OK?

Please try to refrain from giving incorrect information as it causes confusion.

Always a good idea. One of you or ParagonWiki is wrong as far as sets working when slotted in unavailable powers is concerned, BTW. -
The cap's a simple one - you can't repeat any particular Set bonus (in your case a 10% recharge reduction) more than 5 times; the 6th try (and beyond) will be ignored.
It's only exact repeats that count, so even if you have 5 x 10% rec red bonuses, you can still get the benefit from Sets that give 5%, or 7.5% rec red, etc... As long as you only have 5 or less of each of those other bonuses too, of course... -

But as it stands, it should be could "pretty tough" not "invulnverability."
[/ QUOTE ]
There's the answer then, we just need to change the name.
Invulnerability becomes Pretty Tough But Your Brain Fries.
or maybe: Invulnerable for Three Minutes.
And then we can have:
Regen -> Pocket Empath With Random High-Res/Def Power.
Stone -> Lots of Res and some Def, I Mean How Hard is it to Hit a Rock, Oh Yeah, and Don't Move.
Willpower -> Random Bag of Stuff We Got Out Of Other Sets, Don't Attack AVs.
Truth in Advertising, it's the way forward.
[/ QUOTE ]
All part of the "Computer Simulation of A City Where One Pretends to be a Hero" fun. -
[ QUOTE ]
All i'm asking is that Invulnerability reflect it's LITERAL MEANING, at least a little bit.
[/ QUOTE ]
You're either truly invulnerable, and take no harm from anything, or not; being "a little bit" invulnerable presumably means you take some damage, so aren't truly invulnerable at all. Which is exactly how it works at the moment.
Seriously, for game balance purposes there's not a chance in hell of any AT getting 100% resistance to anything. If only because all the ATs have resistance caps at various levels, irrespective of whatever powers they're using.
If you don't like the set name, think of it as superhero hyperbole - it's far more impressive to introduce yourself as "Invulnerable Man" than "Reduced Damage Man". -
[ QUOTE ]
Is it cynical to fully expect a minor I13 announcement in the next week to try diverting our attention from the loss of EU staff?
If so: Is it more or less cynical to think that if there isn't one it's because a few EU players griping about losing good staff doesn't even register on the NC radar?
[/ QUOTE ]
So...whatever NCSoft do or don't do their either have an ulterior motive or don't care about us at all.
Victimhood FTW! -
More d'oh - my forum settings have the recent update coming out as the very first post on page 2, and I didn't actually notice there was a page 1.
You can tell it's Friday... -

20,000-5million is entirely feasible and, as already stated, there are no super hero MMOs that are free. i know at least 20 ppl who would play CoX if it was free, and thats just me, do the math. 20,000 ppl all know at least 20 ppl who would play. thats 400,000 ppl. Not to mention new people who would hear about it and sign up. I know that doesnt ad dup to 5M but its a start, these things take time and IMO its better than whatever advertising NCNC are doing right now
[/ QUOTE ]
Call me anal retentive if you want (actually, you may have done so already - it's not clear) but it looks like you're saying "do the math", then doing the math and coming out with an answer that's still more than a factor of 10 lower than the answer you're saying is feasible. -
A nice end-game build, but to round it out as a guide a few extra details would be good. Designed PvP only, PvE only, or mixed? What do the powers do, and why take them rather than others from the sets? Why those particular Pools?
Edit: Or people could just the guide link in your sig! D'oh! -

Proc is actually short for Process.
[/ QUOTE ]Or Procedure, at least according to our devs.

Or something else altogether if you believe the Wiki link:

Note: Even though Positron refers to a Proc as a procedure, Proc is not an abbreviation for procedure. Proc actually stands for "Programmed Random Occurrence".

You can of course ignore the missions in mercy islands. It's easy to hunt around a bit, hit level 5 and then move on to Port Oakes.
So basicly you have 3 options. Kalinda, Burke or Hunt. Not bad for a game element that you will pass in one hour at most.
[/ QUOTE ]
Inclined to agree - you level so quickly with a new toon it takes next to no time before you're ready to leave the starter area anyway. -
All the best RJ - you've added a lot to the community here, and the place won't be the same without you[1]...take care and here's hoping to meet you in game at some point!

COX would grow from a small 20.000 players to around the 5 mill players.

That's some crazy stat there - can I ask how you came to that conclusion?
[/ QUOTE ]
Presumably you make a guess for the first figure, even though (as you say) actual numbers are available, then another - far more arbitrary, given the lack of anything remotely similar happening in the past - to get your second figure, and there you go!
How can anyone fail to be convinced by the strength of this argument.
