[ QUOTE ]
just a quick one mate, where did he spawn cause we were still killing the demons and I checked the centre of thorn when Jin said he spawned but couldn't find him

The moral of this story? Pick your target
[/ QUOTE ]
Or better yet, if you pick the stalker AT, dont expect to get easy meals forever. I like how a lot of people just pick stalkers in hope of having risk free kills, whilst being impossible to attack, but then just leave the zone when people have some way of fighting back against them.
Not that I can really criticise, having a brute and a stalker myself.. *shows his learner plates*
Sometimes, the differences between a good stalker and an "I want to win with no skill" stalkerplayer are so huge, its too funny ^^
[/ QUOTE ]
Yep certain stalkers have haunted Sirens for long enough that information sharing and testing takes place for skill and tactics to be tweaked to maximum effect. New stalkers face a pretty hard time in Sirens these days and do leave after a couple of kills sadly, i firmly feel people should stay and learn, pvp is not something you can be good at right away regardless of whatever uber build you think you have.
I ahve 3 specific anti-stalker builds coming up but a good stalker will get you no matter what, they may not be able to solo one person but being a good pvper is knowing your limits and when you need help. As Nefarious is undoubtadly aware, Ice Tanks seem to be the trickiest but I have specific tactics for these bloody pains -

Once again the cynic in me wins out -
wow that was posted fast, came to do it myself
Do you know everything?

Fire is the best for maintaining agro without resorting to taunt, I really dont know where people find space for taunt these days

fffffffs don't encourage them! XD we gotta have some people to kill ya know
[/ QUOTE ]
I'm busily levelling up an AR/Devices blaster, partly for Stalker hunting - and after having been a part of a successful team in Siren's, here's the recipe...
First, preheat your Cloak and Drone.
Take some freshly laid Trip Mines - four will do, but why not indulge yourself? - and sprinkle lightly with choicest Caltrops.
Now pick your Stalker. Pluck them using the Teleport Foe method and drop them into the spicy mine and spike mixture. Flambe lightly with Ignite and Flamethrower and serve.
Yum.

Not all Stalkers can be tp'd. I know for certain Energy secondary has a shield to prevent this.

*Cough* yes it does*cough*

Wheee Energy Melee/Stone is the one, just got Granite and teaming with a kinetic and i am slaughering everything

Gandrol Dinged the big 40 today, what a shame he did it lying on his face

oooh bad move, if you are flying you will be downed by impale
[/ QUOTE ]
You think I'm close enough for you to use it?Snipe has a VERY long range.
[/ QUOTE ]
and Im very good at getting close to people who can 'see' me, plenty in Sirens will testify to that. I am also good at orchestrating a mass killing of anyone too annoying
Also as food for thought, (and just in my own stalker as far as i know) you cant kill me with snipe and once u hit me once i will be well gone, instinct if hit in air is to turn off fly and use SS and corners, if Im on floor then its just round the corners. I know how you could make life more difficult for me but its riskier for you and im not saying -

Nothing beats a /Stone brute with SB, with granite its almost comical

/INV is doing well too. Unless they bring lots of controllers/defenders when your fighting a tank, they wont get you killed easily.
[/ QUOTE ]
I ahve one too, if your oponent has hit wits about him and uses autobrawl your toggles drop far to easily, even worse against an NRG blasterthat need fixing IMO

For devices blasters I recommend you never move off caltops as it takes me a split second to drop down from above and also fear anyone with TP foe
[/ QUOTE ]
Hmmm, you seem to be suggesting the Dev blaster sit tight and wait for the stalker to come to them. As you said, tp foe is a problem, so if the stalker knows where you are then you're going to get tped off your caltrops.
FAR better imho to go after them. You won't be jumping down onto me, in a split second or otherwise as odds are I'll be above you, lining up a shot

Its down to the player really, all have their strenghts
-
confusing a spectral terror is awesome btw, thats a sub lvl 30 power
-
Just to say to those interested in building a stalker hunter, Tactics and TD can see through hide and stealth but just because you can see them that doesnt mean you will see them
I am well versed with staying on the blindside
I fight people who see me all the time including SRs and Devices and yeah, sometimes they will peg me but i still get my fair share of kills.

Its a very good power and if nothing else removes a player from combat for a time
[/ QUOTE ]
About 2 seconds, for someone who knows what's happened to them. Basically, when you're confused you automatically target one of your allies, your opponents come up with BLUE names when you target them and your allies come up with orange names. Tab selecting will cycle (I think) through everyone, no matter if blue or orange, and you can attack everyone.
It actually works better if you use it on trollers or MMs pets, since they don't have intelligence to retarget and they keep bashing at their master. It's a double bonus as well, since when the pet kills the master, the pet dies too!
[/ QUOTE ]
last night we couldnt seem to confuse MM pets, as for the duration, Agent Matrons confuse seems to last an eternity on me -

So, my advice to anyone who's been struggling with stalkers is to roll up a toon that's capable of hunting them. Trust me, it's a lot of fun turning the tables on them
[/ QUOTE ]
yep, must get my 3 lvling -
They lose their lock on actual opponents and can attack teammates. We have confused heroes to get them to help us (in fun) before.

Its the rep points I was really getting at,when your going for the big rep point badges every little counts,I just see bounty as a nice little bonus
[/ QUOTE ]
Just do 2 missions in a pvp zone, you get the badge then as they are bugged -
[ QUOTE ]
well if you want to do that to rep, change the rep system as well. First of all, make rep something useful instead of just a number. Second of all, make rep team friendly. Only the real damage dealers get rep atm. When I play with my tank, I rarely deal the killing blows as my role is to prevent enemies dealing those blows to my teammates. However thanks to that I only get bout 0.2 rep (or so) per kill, so after a night of PvPing my rep will never be higher than 20 or such. On the other hand, if you kill yourself you will get alot more rep, easily gaining it along the way.
[/ QUOTE ]
Its a bit stupid that the system gives you bounty just because you are close to the person when they die (in teams), you could ahve been instrumental in their death and then they are too far away when they die and you get nothing -
[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ]
damage is low but the inherant accuracy + TD + tactics means you can get some real nice chains working in there with end reds and recharges and ranges. Where others slot for damage this can be a little more tactical
[/ QUOTE ]
Sadly, tactical doesn't get the job done as efficiently or as effectively as outright damage - the longer you take to eliminate a target, the more chance that target has to escape/heal/get to teammates/lose you in the scenery. "Inherent accuracy" doesn't stack up too favourably against pure ST-damage, either on paper or in practice - from all my experiences in PvP as an AR/Dev, anyway.
[/ QUOTE ]
Well I havent played one before but I have specific plans for this one as i did with my weird stalker build
